This hotel has tons of problems. You should not stay here. Just to name a few:- Maids coming late in the day around 6 PM. After sundown is not the time house keeping should arrive.- Bathrooms with no door. Don’t understand the reason rooms are designed like this, but there is zero privacy in the toilet or shower areas.- Broken elevators so often a 2+ minute wait for ones that are entirely full already. This happened throughout our vacation.- Main pool being ice cold with a broken heater for months. Nobody can go in it and they are not fixing the problem.- Hot tub broken during our stay. It was an eerie green color and though fixed within a day, it was not great to see after being in there the day before.- Resort fee charges for “fast” WiFi when the free one is not fast enough to support WFH. This is 2023. A hotel that doesn’t host free, fast WiFi is ridiculous.Overall, these problems add up and the hotel management have no interest in fixing them. That’s the biggest issue of all. There is no communication, urgency, or attentiveness when it comes to problems and the staff cannot provide answers or timelines. It’s incredibly frustrating, and thus the reason this hotel must be avoided, even on a value basis.

What a lovely place to vacation! The location and the staff are just wonderful. I really don’t recall the last time I vacationed and EVERYONE was just so welcoming and friendly. Manager Raul definitely made my stay better than it already was, very accommodating. Everything about the hotel is beautiful, the rooms and views are what it’s about. Don’t think twice book here.

I would never stay here again. The property is somewhat rundown with broken floor tiles and wall art. The water pressure is terrible and the elevators take forever. I can't imagine how long they'd take if it was busy. The morning of check-out we looked under furniture to ensure we collected all our belongings and found trash that was not ours. A sandwich wrapper to be specific. I was never more disgusted. I informed the clerk at the front desk, showed him a picture, and he really didn't respond other than to tell me the manager can call me if I'd like. The hotel manager calls and could have cared less that we were displeased and quite honestly was rude about it. There are much nicer hotels for the same price or less to stay on the boulevard. This W is below the standard of service I expect from this hotel chain.

I am a Marriott ambassador elite member and have stayed at lots of Marriott hotels. This was my first W hotel and I won’t be staying at this place ever again.Pros1. Clean rooms. Some stains on the carpet. I had a high floor suite. It had a beautiful view.2. Nice location on the beach.3. Most staff was courteous and accommodating.Cons1. If you are an elite member don’t count on your Marriott elite tier benefits.— I requested an early arrival and “Your 24” since I fly from Seattle and arrive early. Room wasn’t available and I waited in the lobby for 2 hours. I was told there was a room but it was dirty and they wait until the guest shows up to start cleaning. I had to ask 3 times what was going on.— tried mobile check in but it never happened. Was told they always wait until the guest shows up to assign a room.— requested a mobile key. Never got it until I was ready to check out.— when I asked the checkin clerks about what was happening, all I got was attitude and excuses. No “sorry” or attempt to find a solution. I did get a “thank you for being a valued customer”. I sure didn’t feel like one!!— the TV was unavailable for a few hours. I called the operator which took 5 minutes to answer. An hour later the TV rebooted and started working.

While my stay at this hotel had some good points, I feel it's important to share a few areas where it didn't quite meet expectations, especially for those looking for a 5-star experience. The hotel overall is decent, but there are aspects that need improvement. The rooms are okay, but they suffer from poor lighting, especially in the bathrooms, which makes getting ready a bit challenging. There was a musty odor from the A/C unit in my room, and the TV remote was frustratingly slow.My biggest concern, however, was the weekend DJ at the pool. The music started at noon and was excessively loud with overpowering bass, which disrupted the tranquil atmosphere. Many guests, including myself, found this off-putting. Evening entertainment is understandable, but the timing and volume during the day seemed inappropriate. The gym is a nice facility, but it was uncomfortably warm due to a non-functional A/C. Also, the elevators in the hotel were quite slow, adding a bit of inconvenience to the stay.In summary, while the hotel has its merits, I would be cautious in recommending it for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing weekend. Attention to these details could significantly enhance the overall experience for future guests.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the W hotel in Fort Lauderdale, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While Mark at check-in provided excellent service and was incredibly personable, that was the only positive aspect of my stay.To my dismay, the hotel had no hot water throughout the entire three-day duration of my visit. This meant enduring cold and uncomfortable showers, which not only affected my overall comfort but also raised concerns about the health and safety implications for the hotel's restaurants and facilities. Despite receiving daily emails promising that the issue would be resolved within 24 hours, the hot water was only restored after we had already checked out. I couldn't help but feel strung along, as if the hotel was hoping we would stay despite the inconvenience. In hindsight, I should have sought accommodations elsewhere. When it came time to settle the bill, I discovered that we had been charged for bar fees, despite having closed out our tabs with a credit card and not charging anything to the room. I have since opened a ticket to dispute these charges, as they were clearly erroneous. The W hotel used to be synonymous with luxury, but this experience has been one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had. It is disheartening to see such a decline in the quality of service and amenities. I initially requested compensation for the inconveniences we faced and was only offered 25,000 reward points, which seemed insufficient. Eventually, they provided a total credit of $300 for our stay, which fell short of the $400+ per night rate we paid.Overall, I cannot recommend the W hotel in Fort Lauderdale based on my recent experience.

This is one of the worst hotels at this price point I have ever stayed at.1. Water inexplicably cut out the first night we were staying at the hotel and was not restored for many hours.2. The bathrooms have 0 privacy -- no main door. no fan, no trash can. What year is this?3. Hot water + water pressure randomly cut in and out throughout our stay.4. Our neighbors bumped techno music until super late at night and despite repeated calls to the front desk, nothing was done.5. Related to 4: walls are paper thin. Psychotically so.The only reason this is even getting a single star is the view from the room is nice and the location is half decent. I've never been more disappointed by a hotel that's reasonably expensive.

Where do I begin ! Do not stay here . This is very low end hotel.Bathroom has no doors . Just frosted glass. You have absolutely no privacy for doing private things in bathroom. Old run down rooms. We have to cut out 10 days vocation to 3 days. waist of money.Balcony windows have not been cleaned in forever. You can not enjoy views. Closet space non existent. Pool is run down , needs to be closed for cleaning. Never ever coming back.

Pleasantly surprised. Wasn't expecting a lot. But we have been impressed during our 2 night stay. Room was upgraded at check-in bc of Bonvoy status, so that was nice. Service has been remarkable. Everyone has been pleasant and kind. Food has been decent. Nothing bad to say. Would love to stay again.Walkability: Walking distance to all the crazy late night bars on the beachFood & drinks: Have been pleasantly surprised with the food. The BLT at the pool is good.

My husband & I have been staying at the W since 2017. During this vacation we went to the pool & when paying we noticed the bartender (or wait staff) ADDED EXTRA DRINKS with high end liquors to our bill (over $200 worth of charges) that WE DID NOT ORDER! I now have an open case with the W to dispute the charges!! I am completely disgusted with the W hotel & their staff! This hotel is no longer 5-stars! It is run down, dirty, and the employees don't have customer service skills! Our room also had a balcony that was a sliver of a patio with 1 chair & 1 table that in order to safely get to the chair, we would have to move the table. This room should NOT be advertised with a balcony! After multiple phone calls (the front desk was trying to convince us that our balcony was safe/big enough) with the front desk we were finally moved to another room which had hair all over the shower & dust all over the room, but I was not waiting hours again for a new room.READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! THIS HOTEL IS DISGUSTING & THEIR STAFF CAN NOT BE TRUSTED!

Mediocre at Best
When I read the other reviews, I wonder if someone paid them to write them or if they have such limited Experience with a quality mexican restaurant. We went for half an hour the margaritas were pretty awful..I love margaritas and I couldn't drink mine. Tasted like cleaning solution. We ordered the happy hour nachos... I've never seen not yet observed that weren't a pile of chips with all kinds of stuff all over them. It was like someone counted out 15 ships laid them down. Put on the cheese and the beans and baked them. I'm so happy it was happy our prices or would have felt more ripped off

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel; however, the 1 star is because there were numerous issues with my hotel bill. There was food and beverage items charged to our room that we did not have, and also I should have received a discount for using my credit card that was never applied to the bill. I have been emailing for 2 months with the hotel manager and was told I would receive a refund; however, that has yet to happen. At this point, I have spent countless hours trying to get this resolved, and for that, I would highly recommend any future guests ensure their bill is correct BEFORE they leave the property.

Mark my words . Xavier at the poolside bar will be in charge of running this place one day. He has the most exceptional customer service , not only to me but to every single person at the bar. I saw him single handedly take on a full bar (18+ bar seats including poolside food service to the entire place ) all with a smile on his face. Not to mention, his drinks did not skip a beat . A+ service & location.

Though I don't like the shower head in my "spectacular" room, I don't understand why my balcony had no chairs, and the housekeeping service leaves some to be desired, I'm giving the W Fort Lauderdale 5 stars because of its other elements and amenities. The service has been wonderful (and was great the first time I stayed hear a couple of years ago). Every one has been so courteous and helpful. Christopher, especially, has been wonderful throughout my stay. He was warm, patient and informative when he checked me in and has been a great resource during my entire stay. The restaurants are great. The location right across from the beach is also great. The amenities at the beach are convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

The W is a nice hotel right on fort Lauderdale beach. The price we paid is reasonable, the room was clean and well decorated, and was decently large as well. We thought it was a little strange that in order to get water, we would have to go to the welcome desk and wait in line with everyone else, but that’s fine. We also thought it was strange that the welcome desk which you also check in at, is located on the fourth floor. The restaurants are very good, and the bars are very well stocked with a good whiskey. Be prepared to pay a premium price for parking and for resort fees, but all the hotels here in this area charge pretty much the same thing.
