Hello I wanted to be sure. I wrote a review because there is a staff member at the 5900 North federal highway location in Fort Lauderdale. That I believe definitely needs to be recognized. I have had my account for a couple years. And every time I come into the location, a gentleman by the name of Carlos. It's always there working and is very friendly and welcoming, he greets and treatsAll customers, so kindly an Always has a smile on his face. He is Honestly the best and has always helped me with any questions or issues that I have ever had with banking at Tropical. I have been so satisfied with his customer service for these past couple years, that i was so so sad to hear that he will be changing locations, but only because he was promoted. (Yayyyyyyy!) He definitely deserves that, but will be missed! His employer is definitely lucky to have him!! I will definitely miss seeing him at my local location but anyone who comes in contact with Carlos, i am most definitely sure that they will always be satisfied, just as I was!!! I love Tropical and their great choice in employees! Wishing the best of Luck to ya Carlos, thank you for your kindness!!!! ? ? ? ???

Very professional staff however the Ft Lauderdale office on Federal Highway is extreamly under staffed and the phones ring forever and finally go to a voice mail. It is not always convenient to leave a message and wait for call back. This is always the case no one ever answeres phones.

I’ve been banking with TFU for over 10 years and this one time I had fraud it’s been a nightmare. Any other bank and or credit card company will not put you as a member or long time customer through this long process. Apparently I have to wait up to 10 business days for them to make a determination to release the fund’s temporarily that were fraudulently stolen from my acct during the investigation process and up to 90 days for the merchant to respond if they determine they would release my funds in the meantime Meanwhile prior fraudulent transactions Ive had in the past would get replaced immediately while the investigation process. This is extremely inconvenient and I did not think this would be process. 3 days after I reported the transactions I was told the card had been cancelled however more funds were deducted today and when I called I was then told to fill out a fraud form online. I came to the bank physically because I needed those funds for bills! And she told me there’s nothing they can do and I have to wait. Thanks TFU I highly recommended this credit union but after this process I’ll be sure to advise to anyone thinking about joining especially the fact that I, myself have had trouble using my own card at times and had to call this and that person but these scammers are having a field day with my acct and unfortunately TFU isn’t really doing anything to accommodate but tell me wait on the fraud team’s response and process.

Went in on a fraud situation and was extremely stressed out. jaysonna jumped right in and helped rectify the issue quickly, calmly and most efficient. Great customer care experience.

They've sent my credit cards and credit card statements to addresses not on file. Most of the time it feels like they are being purposefully unhelpful and trying to screw you over. Their ignorance has put my security and money at risk time and time again. At one point the cops had to subpoena them on my behalf. Do business elsewhere.

They are not very good at transferring funds via a Fed wire. Limited options for online services in comparison to other banks and credit unions. Loan rates are ok but not great. Oh and don't use them for a Checking account should you need to actually write checks because THEIR CHECKS ARE EXPENSIVE AF! COSTS $35 FOR ONLY 80 CHECKS! They will not honor any checks you buy elsewhere either. I don't normally write checks but have to for my rent so I do need them once per month. As far as customer service goes they are pretty good. I've used them for almost 10yrs and I also like that they have sister branches in other states that you can use. You can not deposit checks online though and when you need another debit card they have to "snail mail" it to you which takes up to 10days! Oh and savings rates are terrible. They do not pay anything. Even though rates are above 5% everywhere! Which is why I'm going to switch to a new bank or CU.

Michael C. has been 1000% an integral part in me being able to close on my home! I was having issues with the system and from the moment I called in he took the time and ensured what I needed done was properly handled in an effecient manner...He wasn't rushing me and everytime I called (over 10 times) he was super polite and reassuring!! This Man seriously deserves a raise as he was an ear to my frustrations (not due to the bank) but also a comforter in knowing he was working behind the scenes to get what I needed done that same day to prevent any delays...I will most definitely keep my account open there because I know someone like Michael is there to help if any unforseen circumstances arise...wish I could give a 10 ? review...you will forever be apart of this monumental day by sheer luck?

Jaysonna did a wonderful job!! She made sure my process was completed timely unlike prior visits. She was well versed and coordinated towards my concerns and overall all lovely. It’s unfortunate that she’s not an employee at the Sunrise Blvd location I can truly see that she will be a valuable asset in branch management if she ever pursues that path with TFCU. Well done young lady!!

I was interested in refinancing my car loan though them. However, I tried calling FOUR TIMES to no avail. They don't even have anyone at the front desk answering phones; it just sends you straight to a voicemail that prompts you to leave a message that they ultimately never follow up on. Please go to ANY other credit union. This one has horrendous "customer service" that leaves a lot to be improved upon.

You have one fantastic employee that you should never let go. 4 years ago I sent in a beneficiary change and now realize that it was not right and no one ever called me about it this employee took her time guided me through the process and now both my bank accounts are covered in case I pass I cannot say enough about how this employee treated me and her professionalism in getting done what I needed done I will continue to be a loyal customer until I am no longer around thank you very much to this employee for all the great work you did this week and getting done what I needed okay
