I reserved and PAID for my rental for my daughter's wedding. My flight was delayed coming into FLL and I called to let Thrifty know. I was told it was no problem. When I get to the counter, I was told there were no more cars available. How can that be when I reserved a month in advance, paid for the rental and now I am left stranded without a car rental. I tried other rental agencies, but they said Veterans weekend was a premium holiday and was going to charge me $600 for an electric car for 3 days rental. I have ALWAYS rented from Thrift or Dollar (same company) but I know I have choices but I will NEVER EVER rent from them again. You have lost a 20 + year loyal customer! Way to go Thrifty!

If they had zero stars, i would give zero. No cars, miscommunication, 3 hour wait and make matters worst, it was my birthday. I read the reviews and did not believe it but everything they said is true. I did my reservation on the company website and they said i need a drivers license and credit card. I showed them both, it turns out at this location i need to being a passport as well. I informed them that i checked the policys and procedures, it never mentioned a passport. They did not care. I showed them the email saying to walk only with drivers license and credit card. Didnt care. I called reservation, they were no help, so i asked for the manager because when i asked for the supervisor the guy at the desk said he was a supervisor. The manager came and said they were short of cars so i would have to wait 3 hours for a car. I said what, i have to make a 2 hour trip to west palm beach and back, in traffic to wait a further 3 hours for a car. I called reservation and cancelled and i really wanted them to try and charge me cuz i was ready to explode. Poor service, poor policy, everyrhing was just a bad experience. What a birthday this was. I attached a picture of the people in line waiting for their cars

Fraudulent charges! STAY AWAY!I was told in an ORAL contract that the overcharge on the insurance would be removed when i returned the rental.I was provided a number to confirm the call.I was then told that the person basically lied to me over the phone and that no one would help me because I signed a contact (even though the final Cost was NOT listed on supposed contract AND I had an oral addendum to said contract after speaking on the phone with the representative. This place is a scam and a bait and switch. The confirmation email had the correct price, the email received after doubled the price! NEVER rent from here! Liars and scam artists!

Thrifty is Horrible!Just worst!Just be careful for addionational charges. They trying to charge extras in a sneaky way.I realized after drop off because ı use two cards their answer is “you signed” . So no customer service after drop off. No problem with the car.No problem with drop on/off.

Absolutely no way can I in good conscience ever recommend renting with this company. They have a policy here at FLL where each and every car is inspected before they all you leave the car rental centre at the airport. This is after you are processed at the front desk. The wait is painfully long. No heads up provided either. Rent elsewhere.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I showed up at 12 for my car rental at 1pm. Waited in line for over an hour only for them to not have a car ready for me. Waited another 2 and a half hours for someone to return a car for me to use. This shifted all my day plans. They charged me for an insurance I didn’t want. I had to call to get a refund only for them to tell me they couldn’t refund me until my rental was returned and they also charged me an extra 2 hours that I spent waiting for the car. I will never rent a car from here again.

I booked through expedia for a total of 190$. At Thrifty counter i was told that the car is not ready and have to wait for 3 hours. After 4 hours of waiting then i got my car. When I returned the car they charged me $550 for cleaning and other fees. The car was absolutely clean except for 2 empty water bottles. This company is dangerously scamming people. Please if share your story and elevate

Negative stars. My friends and I rented a car over a month ago for Labor Day weekend. We get there and are told “there are no cars available. Uber to your hotel and save the receipts and we will reimburse you for it” which was a lie. We came back the next day and the lady at the front desk told us “I hate to be the one to tell you this. There will be no cash back.” And still no cars, at all. Long story short it was a bad experience. Not mad at the lady that talked to us. Not her fault. Rented somewhere else.

Company charged $10 admin fee 10 times for tolls that totaled only $9 (which cannot be paid for manually) - shady as hell at best - completely fraudulent and criminal at worst.

Waited in line for over an hour for a reserved car. There were literally no cars in the garage and 40 people sitting in the hot garage waiting for cars to show up. They said it could be up to 2 hours. Last time I will ever use Thrifty. They are completely over-booking.

Flew in FLA because it was cheaper than flying into MIA. First time flying since the pandemic hit and was a little sticker shock at the price of rentals these days. We usually book hotels/flights/cars directly with the companies, why? Because having worked in hospitality for a decade plus, I know first hand that 3rd party reservations (Priceline, Expedia, etc.) are treated differently - For ex. when checking into a hotel - Oh, you want a room with a view? Sorry we're all out of those! Trying to select an aisle or window seat and only middle seats show up?! - That's really because, it's reserved for full paying customers - sorry just a fact! Knowing this I wasn't expecting much and neither should you if that's how you booked.Anyways...Booked 3 weeks in advance, probably should have booked earlier, and paid online through Priceline. Selected one of those deeply discounted, non-refundable rates that gave the rental company name after you paid. After I paid, found out it was Thrifty. I was a bit nervous after reading all the negative reviews about long waits and the non-availability of cars, etc. especially since I was traveling with my wife, 1-year old, and mother in-law. Nonetheless, the whole time on the flight there I kept thinking about the "long lines" at the counter. Arrived at FLA, told the fam, you guys wait for the bags, I'm headed straight for the shuttle to the rental counter and I'll double back to pick you up. Still nervous, getting off the shuttle, I walked up the stairs to the 2nd floor where they were to my surprise no line. One customer ahead of me and 3 agents assisting other customers. Once it was my turn, the agent found my reservation quickly and processed me in. I booked a fullsize SUV - Nissan Armada/Ford Expedition/Chevy Tahoe. Of course he tried up-selling me to a Suburban - I would have been insulted if he didn't try. It's sales/hospitality folks. That's their job! Get over it! He actually went out and checked to make sure one was there before upselling me. I passed on the suburban and the insurance, of course, and stuck with what I reserved. Paid for the toll pass and child seat and was on my way.Got into the garage to the attendant who looked at my code and she said there's an Expedition here you can have or an Armada downstairs. I said I'd pass on the Expedition (bad experience with Expedition's in the past) and she "called down" for the Armada. To be fair, she said it would take about 10 - 15 mins because the Armada was behind a couple of cars and they were rotating them to get it out. 5 mins in, I said, "Hey I actually don't need something that big, I'll take something smaller to save you the hassle." Looked around and said, I'll gladly take the Durango or the Explorer, if you're cool with it. She said you're getting less than you paid for! Actually I really only needed a regular size SUV, but, again, with Priceline the full size was way cheaper (~$150) than the regular size. Her manager confirmed he was okay with it. Then, I checked the Durango - 30K miles. Checked the Explorer - 146 miles, brand spanking new. Took the Explorer and was on my way. Drove great, clean ride, no issues, returned it and was charged EXACTLY what I was quoted 4 days earlier for my incidentals. My experience was not like some of the recent or, during the pandemic, reviews. It was unexpectedly better. What most reviews don't mention is when they flew in, I feel that matters. We flew in on a Thursday around 3pm and had no issues and flew out the Monday, having no issues. Again - having worked in hospitality, my personal opinion is that most of the bad reviews arrived late on a Friday to the tourist hotspot that is Miami. So if you're reading this and that's you - be prepared, I guess. But if you're coming in on a Thursday around 3pm. I hope your experience will be 5-stars like mine was. Other negative reviews about not taking a debit card, etc. That was spelled out on Priceline so I

This is an awful service. We waited in line for over an hour to get to the customer service rep, only to be asked to pay an additional $240 when we had paid for the car and insurance online. Then we got a car that was dirty, reeked of tobacco smell, and it had cockroaches coming out the freaking vents. Would NEVER recommend. Don’t waste your time. I have contacted support people over and over again to no avail. Save your money and go somewhere else.

We would give zero stars if we could. We spent over 2 hours waiting with small children to pick up a car for a reservation made and already paid for on Expedia weeks prior. There was about 4 employees for the 250 people waiting in line. The staff was rude at the desk and also while finally getting to the car. We asked where we pick up the car seat we rented and the employee threw her hand in the air and rudely said ‘ya’ll can go grab it from over there!’Next time we will pay a couple hundred bucks extra to one of the competing companies for better prompt service!!!
