Alyssa was great to work with. She knew the products and listened to what we needed for our new house. And just as important Alyssa made furniture shopping fun.

Purchasing the couch was not a problem. It’s a very nice couch aesthetically (albeit not durable) and our salesman was very knowledgeable and friendly. But that’s the last kind statement I can make about this company. I purposefully bought the 5 year warranty knowing that there would be some pet damage. When purchasing the warranty, I explicitly asked if pet damage was included. My salesman ASSURED me that pet damage was covered and I shouldn’t worry since that claim would be covered. Had I been aware of how limited the scope of the pet damage that they would cover, I would NEVER have purchased the warranty NOR the couch. The insuring company (Uniters Inusrance) is denying my claim because they found multiple scratches and because there are multiple scratches, they are making the claim that the damage occurred on multiple occasions (which they do not cover… they only cover a SINGLE occurrence AND A SINGLE SCRATCH). Dogs have 4 legs and my dog is a relatively large dog (she is 90lbs in weight) and there will be multiple scratches even with one occurrence (IE if she ran across the couch or was playing fetch while on the couch). It is extremely disappointing that this company would align itself with such a sneaky insurance company that would create unrealistic situations for which they will actually pay for a first-occurrence claim. Secondly, if their salespersons are aware of how limited the scope of the coverage of the insurance company they use, then it is on their employees to educate clients on the minutia of the policy and not just ‘yes’ the customer to make the sale. After escalating the issue to their district manager, Paola, all she said is that she could not do anything about it. I asked for her supervisor and she said she could not give me that information and that I could submit another claim through their website. I then asked for a refund on the useless warranty which she also refused. I CAUTION ALL CUSTOMERS CONSIDERING PURCHASING FURNITURE FROM THIS COMPANY. THERE ARE MANY OTHER FURNITURE STORES IN THE AREA WITH SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MORE QUALITY FURNITURE THAT THE COMPANY ACTUALLY STANDS BEHIND. FURTHERMORE, THE UNITERS WARRANTY IS USELESS SO SAVE YOUR MONEY.

We purchased a sofa on President’s Day. The store was clean and inviting and we liked the look of the furniture. We specifically asked the sales associate if the sofa we had selected was made in China, because we didn’t want anything made in China. He said he didn’t think so, but he’d check. He went up to his computer and checked then told us it was made in Italy. Great - we went ahead and purchased it. On delivery - big labels on the side of the box says Made in China. Now we are stuck with a cheaply made sofa that is worth 1/4 of its purchase price and that we probably will need to change again in a couple of years. I’m leaving the review so customers such as myself know that the furniture is Made in China and severely overpriced for that.

Buyer beware - Modani DOES NOT stand behind its products once they are delivered.Their policy is the opposite of every other company I have ever encountered - Modani does the opposite of helping the customer. Our Bergamo sofa had a defective leg that broke, so we called to ask for a replacement. They had the part in the warehouse but would not provide the leg, either for free or if we paid for it. It's their policy that once it's out the door, they do nothing else to assist the customer. Modani Customer Service texted us that they would sell us a set, but then they refused to follow through. The head of customer service told us he was empowered to override the "no further assistance" policy, but he was refusing to do so. It's amazing that companies can afford to lose customers by not giving them assistance when it's needed. Clearly a case of one-and-done.

One star is too much. For a large company they don't stand behind their product. We bought an expensive patio table which expanded with a central leaf. It became stuck in the open position within a couple of weeks. Because the table was not purchased with an extended warranty, the store would not repair or replace it. We now have an expensive door stopper."Who needs a warranty on a table?!" If the company is trusted, you don't. Stay away from Modani!
