My uncle just retired fire captain for boca ration ,. I found it interesting. As a history fan of Florida . ( I grew up here ,I’m 50 years old and it’s interesting to see . I think they should have more historical districts. And photos the fire trucks where very interesting.

Update: The museum got new doors and they look amazing. Hours posted on the door are 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, the last Saturday of the month. From learning about the architect Francis Abreu to history of Fort Lauderdale and the Fire-Rescue Department, this museum offers a lot! It is a non-profit completely run by volunteers and operates only on donations. My highlight was the stories told by retired firefighters Wally and Mike who worked there while it was in operation!! Did I mention it is "certified haunted"?

I have lived on this street before for almost a year and would walk past this museum almost daily. I was never able to go inside and check it out until recently I just got hired with Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue. The work that has been done here to restore the firehouse to its former glory is amazing! So many hours of volunteering and dedication. All credit goes to these guys! Please come visit!!

Disappointed. Second attempted visit, no staff, everything locked up. To be fair, it is a wonderful memorial to Fort Lauderdale's former firefighters. But as a museum ... forget it.

CLOSED DOWN!!! We arrived in the pouring rain and stood outside for 30 minutes waiting for them to open, as indicated by their opening hours at 9am on Saturday. No one there and phone number disconnected. Don't waste your time trying to go there as the website says they are still open, but they are not.
