We had our first visit to FPMC yesterday and I could not be more impressed with the level of care and professionalism. From the receptionist ‘Elaine’, who from the first phone call made me feel so welcome, to Vet Tech Elisa, who was so knowledgeable, kind to me and my pets, and very detailed in her care and concern, to Dr. Alpert, who was compassionate and a pleasure to spend time with, and was kind enough to speak to my husband on the phone. It truly was an exceptional experience. After leaving my former vet (after 15 years) it was everything I hoped for and more. My Yorkie Louie needed some extra attention due to a heart murmur that Elisa detected. They jumped right on it with an EKG/Ultra-Sound and diagnosis in record speed. Truly if you are seeking professionalism, a kind bedside manner and an overall positive experience this is the place! And they are a 24 hour emergency facility as well. Many thanks and much gratitude to this wonderful group of loving humans! Sincerely, Robin Revier

Horrible! SCAM ARTISTS 100% Asked for cash, changed price of treatment NUMEROUS times. After the original owner sold to these crooks it has gone down hill to put it politely

I’ve made this my regular vet for my little guy, and they are always pleasant and their prices are competitive for the area. They take the time to explain everything they are doing and don’t add on frivolous charges to fluff up the bill. My dog may not like coming here, but as his parent - I know it’s for his own good and they will take care of my little guy

Stay away from this place, they are rude, unprofessional and they overcharge for unnecessary checkups.I went here only because it was weekend and my primary vet was unavailable. Now I am questioning if all these nice reviews were genuine or another scam and paid advertising.

I understand this hospital is open on weekends too and it’s kind of emergency place to go, but to charge you $125 for regular medical exam and not being able to tell you ANYTHING before they do X-ray and blood tests that cost another $1000 sounds like a scam to me. In addition to that the doctor Michael Elpert was implying it was my fault my puppy vomited as if I gave him something. I take extreme care in how I treat my puppy, feeding him only with quality food for puppies and I feel like the comments like that were rude and really unnecessary. The girl at the desk misspelled my name 3 times even after I wrote it down for her in capital letters, rolling her eyes all the time. My suggestion is to avoid this place, this is not the way to treat customers.

My first visit to the FPMMC! It was an emergency for my 12yo Shi Tzu Gidget! The hospital immediately attended to my baby girls need and were totally politely, professional but most importantly concerned about my girl. Dr Justin Margolis was just totally amazing. He provided me with frequently calls daily with updates. He just not alíviated my concerns but most importantly shares compassion and empathy. Kudos to FPMCV and Dr. Margolis!

I went there very late on Christmas day with my dog who got a bee sting and the staff were very professional and nice. I understand English but it was a bit difficult to explain what had happened but it was so nice when the guy at the reception started to speak Swedish to me and he explained everything to the vet.

I’m so grateful to the Family pet medical center team for their help!Absolutely saving this place for our new emergency vet (and trying to convince my family to use them as a primary vet, though it’s a little far from west broward, where we live).Came here with a nighttime emergency on New Year’s Day (non life threatening). It wasn’t a busy night, so we were able to get premier treatment off the bat, but I really appreciate the openness and the communication about my dog. Every step was communicated beforehand. All the staff was friendly, not dismissive or cold at all. Also, a CLEAR breakdown of what they were charging for was provided to me before anything (which my family and I have found isn’t always the case in emergency situations).

I brought my Doberman in last week because I was referred to an ER vet after a visit with my primary vet. My primary vet did X-rays and labs that were sent over to this facility. Upon arrival, this vet said they needed to do more X-rays to be sent to a radiologist to read. I’m not sure why an ER vet is unable to read X-rays? Those additional X-rays were inconclusive. They told me that in the meantime they would need to do surgery and it would be $5,000 to $10,000. I said I can afford $5,000 and the vet said he would speak with the office manager. While in the exam room I could hear the whole conversation and the manager said to counter at $7,000 but to call the surgeon first. I could also hear the whole conversation between the ER vet and the surgeon, and the surgeon said he did not feel comfortable performing this surgery- with no definite medical diagnosis. The facility wanted me to have the dog hospitalized overnight at $50/hour and have an ultrasound performed in the morning. They refused to let me stay with the dog as the IV fluids were infusing. This place takes advantage of people and their desperate time of need. All they care about is money. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I left this facility paying $3,000 with no medical diagnosis and all inconclusive results. My dog received emergency surgery elsewhere and is doing great. The surgery was half the price of what this facility recommended.
