Thought I would take this opportunity to warn others about this location. We had reserved a car after a cruise, I had a corporate rate so it was a fairly cheap rental but agreed to pay .15 per mile for the rental. We jumped in the car and realized the tank was half full so jumped out and went back in and was told to take a picture and return it with the same amount (yeah right). So instead of travelling to Sarasota right away our first trip was to the gas station. When we handed the car in at TPA 4 days later the attendant asked us if the tank was full and I said yes, even though we picked it up half full. He said to go complain to the local office, then asked if we agreed to the .15 per mile I said yea and he showed us the $800 invoice we were getting. I said it should be around $50. So we went to the booth with our photos and got the bill corrected. Fort Lauderdale had the odometer @ 1 mile instead of the true mileage. TPA guys were great, the Fort Lauderdale guys are an issue that should be dealt with. I would not rent from that location again, extremely shady.

Worst rental experience ever with Avis. I placed two rentals through Avis and one at the end of my tripThe first rental was great I received the vehicle I prepaid for and everything was good. The second rental was terrible from the minute I arrvied at this location and got worse when I received a letter stating during my rental there was glass damage incurred. Therefor I was responsible for $679 in damages.I had prepaid for a premium suv with a pickup time of 1030 which was closer to 11 once the massive line of cruise customers was helped. When I got to the counter the agent asked if I could take a smaller vehicle I said no due to my luggage, stroller 2 adults and 2 kids. She stated she would see what she could do and ended up with a minivan. I asked about the cost difference since it was not what I rented and was told she couldnt do anything about it as that was all they had.Once I got out to the rental I noticed a very large crack in the windshield (pic and video attached) There was an employee in the parking lot and I asked who I needed to report the crack to. He looked very concerned and told me the vehicle was not safe and I could not drive it. Another employee came over who said the vehicle was fine since they had nothing else but he would make a note of the crack.Upon checking the vehicle in at FLL I again told the employee (Kobe) about the crack and what the other employees said. He also seemed very concerned I was driving the vehicle and typed up a note and also showed me everything he said. He was amazing and so friendly.Once I got home I called and spoke with an agent and expressed my frustration and concern. The agent was wonderful and did refund me the difference in price as well as said if I ever encountered that issue again I should call customer service because that was unacceptable. He also gave me a future coupon code to use, which I have used to book a car in March. However Im considering canceling after this experience. Then I receiver an email from returning the rental that there was windshield damage and I may be responsible. I called in and spoke with an agent who said I did not owe anything. She also said to email in the photo and video I took.I received a letter from AvisIt states over the course of the rental the vehicle incurred glass damage and that my credit card used for the rental will be charged $679. I called and spoke with another agent and I explained all of this to her and sent her over the photo and video as well. She has assured me I am not responsible for the cost and will ensure I do not get charged. Not only am I upset and disappointed at how the entire situation was handled but then to hear from multiple employees that the vehicle I was in was potentially not safe due to the crack is very concerning. I had my kids with me and I thought I could trust the vehicle that was being rented to me. I know things can happen and potentially not having the prepaid vehicle available due to increased rentals is somewhat understanding. However the lack of care and customer service is unacceptable and I hope is addressed.

Car they gave us ended up being a bit of a hunk of junk, but the shuttle to pick us up from the cruise terminal arrived promptly and on time. Never had to call up to request it, which was nice and saved us a LOT of hassle.

The rental vehicle was filthy inside and had a partial flat tire. Both members of the front desk counter staff were epicially horrible at providing even the most basic level of customer service. Waiting in line I witnessed the five clients in front of me all face ridiculously poor service. Do yourself a favor and avoid the nightmare you will face with Avis.

2hrs wait for shuttle, another 1.5hr wait just to get car then they try to give us another car we didn't ask for. Bathrooms are worse than a gas station. No shuttle to airport. This company doesn't care about customers at all just the maximum profit

Didn't have a great experience here. Maybe they were overwhelmed with the amount of people requesting cars and the limited availability of inventory.

“We’ll save a few bucks by renting a car instead of getting Ubers”, we thought. It’s now been 2 hours in line and counting. Think twice before choosing this pickup location.

Expect to wait between 1-2 hours to pickup a car. Super long lines and very few employees working here to help with the long lines. The complimentary shuttle drivers also guilt trip you into a tip even though "tips are appreciated".

Would rate zero if possible. Waited for 1.5 hours for rental car shuttle. No one answers phones. Eventually took a uber.At the center, the line is crazy and only one person was there. End up cancelling the rental and made another one at airport.
