I brought my cat Lilly in today for a consultation after testing at my normal vet showed potential cancer. The vet staff was kind and informative, answering all my questions with respect and care. I look forward to continuing to work with the team to provide the care and support my baby needs. I know she is in great hands.

In a time of uncertainty and fear, I am so grateful for being directed towards the Animal Cancer Care Clinic. The treatment my dog has received has been top notch and I can tell that everyone on that staff has a deep love for the safety and well being of every animal that walks through their doors. Dr Lyons has done a great job of being realistic and honest but at the same time providing hope in the recovery and well being of my little guy. While its still too early to know how much his treatments will positively enhance his years of life, I can say for certain that they have made every attempt to make sure that Miles has the best chance possible to beat this tumor and keep on living for many more years to come. I would highly recommend the Animal Cancer Care Clinic.

Explained everything very well. The pros and cons of the cataract procedure. The testing requirements and post operation care.

We come to this clinic to see the eye doctor. However, the place itself is clean with good parking and the staff is very friendly. I think the world of Dr. Buss who had previously cared for my older dog's eye problems with compassion and understanding. Of course we came to see Dr. Buss when our new collie puppy had an eye issue. His knowledge of collie eye issues was very apparent and he took the time to carefully explain everything to us. As a physician myself, I find his knowledge to be extensive, especially given the many breeds he cares for, yet he is readily able to explain complex concepts and was patient with our many questions. I highly recommend.

We went to animal care clinic in December 2022 and received treatment through July of 2023. I want to clarify that there are 3 groups that work here: the front desk, the doctors, and the vet assistants. My Sheltie had been fighting cancer for over 2 years and radiation was his last hope. When I spoke with the doctor he explained that he was almost a research doctor that wants to cure pet cancer (great) but has no idea the cost of anything he recommends (more on that later). The front desk staff is friendly but in 2 cases I was double charged for things when they presented the bill, they are so used to processing $500+ bills it doesn’t phase them that this is real money. Finally we get to the vet assistants which are terrible. These are the liaison between you and the vet (typical in vet offices) but the staff they have acts “slimy” acting condensing to you when describing what your pet is going through. They don’t really listen to you and you are playing telephone to the vet at best, then taking your words, translating it to the vet, the vet responding, and then coming back to you… so their voice comes across very strong. Our Sheltie had their deluxe radiation treatment spending over 14k to treat his cancer. The doctor treated his cancer as a research program wanting to run needless tests that would cost us 1000s of dollars but wouldn’t change his course of treatment. Specifically they recommended X-rays and mris using their leased machines and a radiologist that can see “shadows” to the result of the 12k treatment which we did but it just let us know that the 12k won’t save your animal instead they will just die of lung cancer first. Most recently when we went asking for help when our animal suffering they again recommended X-rays when they knew he was dying of lung cancer and there was no course of treatment available…. They are happy to take our money however but the level of service on a scale of 1-10 is a 3-4 at best. They have tools that your pet may need BUT they are a profit center and I hope you have means to pay, also once you demonstrate means to pay they don’t will recommend expensive treatments without explaining how this will help your animal. We lost our fight even though our little man tried his best and I honestly don’t know if what they did added even a single day to his life but it certainly weakened him and made his last days harder on me.

My experience here has really been fantastic, considering that my pet has a terminal cancer diagnosis. I am so thankful for the radiation oncology staff and Dr. Lyons for everything they have done to help me and my senior pup. No treatment is without risk so who knows what will happen tomorrow but my dog has been in the best of hands at every visit and I’m so grateful. In our specific case, she hasn’t seemed bothered by the treatments and so far is improving every day. I was hesitant initially about treating her because of her age and what I thought would be a traumatic experience for her but I’m happy I followed Dr Lyons’ advice. Getting to this point in her treatment was stressful for me but the staff and doctor walked me through everything and helped me plan at each step. The radiation isn’t cheap but you wouldn’t want it if it was. I’m looking forward to finishing up treatments and spending the next months or (hopefully) years with my best friend by my side. Can’t express enough how thankful I am for the radiation oncology team, as well as the front desk staff.

Great care by Dr. Camps. She was wonderful with my pup Dexter in his last few months. The lymphoma was fatal but we did the best we could and Dr. Camps tried everything to make him happy and healthy. Great team.

Our kitty was there for five days for his palliative radiation. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Lyons and his amazing staff!! Everyday a phone call with an update. When we came to pick him up we were greeted by a nurse holding him with a graduation cap and she was followed by four other staff members. Everyone showed such love and emotion for our baby as we said our thank you’s and goodbye’s! The hugs and kisses were plentiful! My family, I and most importantly our kitty are so very thankful for all that you have done! You guys are the best!!!

STOP! DON’T GO HERE!!!The lack of care, follow up and attention to detail leaves a lot to be desired. We wasted precious time, not to mention the $10,593.68, and our pup had to have her leg amputated 9 months later. While in treatment at ACCC, if your pup has reactions to the stereotactic radiation treatment, they tell you to go see your Vet first. We have DRs notes referring to our pup as “Clyde”- that’s not her name.On May 13th during consultation for radiation treatments, we were advised, "For sure we will treat the known, the diseased pad. Problem is we can't go in and take just the paw pad".THIS IS NOT TRUE! Our pup eventually ended up having her cancerous paw pad removed. (Pathology tests indicated cancer had spread leading to having her leg amputated.)During the October 13th visit- more than 20 weeks later after radiation treatments - Dr Lyons was confident the paw will heal, "just taking a while because of the trauma to the pad". He said the cancer she had was a slow spreading cancer and is not concerned about waiting for the paw pad to heal. Her next visit was scheduled for November 16th.On our pup’s November 16th checkup with ACCC, another four (4) weeks later, her paw pad still had not healed and it had been months. Discharge notes: "...there does still appear to be an abrasion in the radiation site. This can be due either to a region of non-healing tissue or tumor progression, however the measurements remain unchanged and it does not appear to be bothering Dear Prudence." THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! It was bothering our pup. Why did he think we were there in the first place? "She will be due back for a recheck with me in 3 months." Let that sink in.. recheck in 3 MONTHS!We immediately left ACCC and went to see our Vet.Our Vet was stunned no biopsy was done considering what Prudence's paw pad looked like and the fact the paw pad still hadn't healed. She asked me about my conversation with Dr Lyons re: radiation vs surgery of the paw pad.I said, first, I was confused because he originally said we can't remove the paw pad.Second, I learned we could have done the 2nd option of radiation that had a better chance "of knocking this out the first time around". So why didn't we do the second option of radiation in the first place? Our pup underwent a second biopsy 5 days later, scheduled through our vet and performed by a board-certified surgeon. The results confirmed cancer was still in the pad. Surgery was then scheduled through our vet to have the same board-certified surgeon remove the paw pad, which ACCC said couldn’t be done. Our pup went in for the surgery to remove the paw pad on December 20th. The concern then was if she would be able to walk on the foot without the pad. She was walking on the foot 2 days later, so we were very encouraged...and then the pathology results came in. Not only was the cancer still in the paw pad but it had now spread- devastating is all I can say. As a result, her leg was amputated on January 13th; surgery was once again scheduled through our vet and performed by the same board-certified surgeon. We believe we wasted over $10,000.00 and precious time. As a pet parent, when you visit with an oncology office, you are frightened and worried for your pet, and you are relying on the counsel from a professional. We understand there are no guarantees in medicine. However, the level of care we received to ensure our pup’s health, well-being, and longevity was astonishingly poor.It was like pulling teeth trying to get answers. We are disgusted and devastated with our experience here. Oh, if your pup needs to be seen during Jewish holidays, good luck- you have to wait days while cancer continues to spread.I always thought it was concerning after each visit they would ask me to post positive reviews on yelp because they were getting bad reviews. My ‘gut feeling’ said, “wait”. Well, now you know why…

Overall, I had a very poor experience with this establishment and the way they conduct business. I know at the end of the day it is a business but as a dog dad and wanting the best for my baby, I expected follow ups and check ins. They are administering intense chemo and reactions can happen yet for 6 months not one appointment did I have anyone follow up with me the next day or to check in on my baby girl. The initial visit was smooth and bubbly but after that you could tell it’s just a business to them. For many this can be traumatizing on the owners and there little animals and just a tad bit of kindness and decency can go a long way and this place just didn’t provide it. The receptionist in the Fort Lauderdale office are just terrible. They screen the calls and won’t pick up the phone half the time. yet you walk in the office and four of them are sitting there chatting up a storm. They will offer you a stale cookie though… I can’t remember her name, it was either Karen or Carol but she really had no kindness or customer service. She needs a lesson on how to treat people with respect. This office gave me push pack for payments over the phone and didn’t have all the machines necessary for examinations yet I move my services to the South Miami location and the staff was complete opposite. I was able to make payments over the phone without paperwork and nonsense. Night and day experience. Avoid this location at all costs.

We brought our dog King here for 5 treatments of palliative radiation with Dr. Lyons. Our experience was great (considering what we were there for). Every time he went in he came back out with a big smile, and the process was as smooth as possible thanks to their professionalism and kindness.
