Just like they said it’s quite nice. Old timey charm. Check in at ivy hotel. I like the loud ac good to drown out traffic noise or whatever else. Cute little town.Walkability: Can walk around without much traffic. It’s a small town

I Rarely, Rarely Do a review, but this is now worthy. This was a shabby looking outside, but decent inside motel. Don’t go there to check in, you have to check in the Ivey house. We were there the 27th of January. It looks like they’re updating the rooms. I tried opening a drawer, at approximately 7:30- 8:30 pm. It Was not attached to the drawer. It came out and hit my arm and foot. Since I’m on double blood thinners, my arm started to bleed profusely. After an hour of trying to stop the bleeding, it stopped. My foot was hit very hard! We left very early in the morning, not even thinking there would be a manager on duty late Saturday or early Sunday morning. We went home. I called the manager of the Ivey house early Monday morning to report the injury. She was very nasty. Demanding I should have came to the Ivey house with my bleeding arm at 9:00 pm or delay our trip back home where I could get medical help. My foot was badly injured and needed medical attention. I’ve tried many, many times to reach out to the c manager. She refuses to respond. What TERRIBLE customer service!!!

I stayed at Captain's Table as a base-camp prior to camping in the Everglades Nat Park. This hotel is excellent for so many reasons: The staff are incredible and helpful, the location is excellent for access to the Glades, and the rooms are inviting, clean, comfortable and make for a great stay. The staff here were so helpful, from pre-reservation when I called to discuss my travel plans and request more information, to check-in and check-out, just above and beyond and so friendly. I believe it was Brittany, and Debbie who I spoke with and they were awesome and helpful!I booked here with plans to stay one night, then head out with an Ivy House kayak rental to camp on some of the keys in the Glades.I was checked in super easy, given some great information on Everglades City, and given some great local dinner suggestions by Brittany - which I thoroughly enjoyed. The next morning I was slated to go on a Kayak tour and pick up my Kayak rental for camping. Debbie was so helpful in pointing me to Dylan - who runs Ivy House tours and rentals (SUPER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)- and I got all my questions answeredWhen it turned out that I shouldn't kayak out due to timing, I came back and stayed another night - everyone was inviting and wonderful!Highly recommended as a base-camp for exploring the north portion of the Everglades! Everyone is so awesome and it's a one-stop-shop for a good stay, kayak and boat rentals, and tours. Super highly recommendedRooms: The rooms are clean, comfortable, and nice, there's an AC and TV in the room. The door locks can sometimes be hard to open, as the locks are a bit old, but that actually felt safer to meNearby activities: There are a bunch of great restaurants and helpful stores along the main strip area. There are also several tour and rental companies, but IMO, Ivy House is the best option. There are several historic buildings in the area, as well as several Visitor's Centers for both Big Cypress and Everglades, as well as the Gulf Center Visitor Center Boat Launch. There are several nearby trails to take outside of Everglades city both in Big Cypress andSafety: This is a nice and quiet area, I felt very safe traveling and walking around during both the day and nightWalkability: Technically, you COULD walk from here to any of the recommended restaurants - it's probably about 1/2 to 1 mile in any direction from the booking office at Ivy House to the Captains Table, and any restaurants in between. It's a quiet town but minimal street lights, so just stay safe on the sidewalksFood & drinks: The team is so great at pointing out some great local places to eat! I ate at the Island cafe and Camellia Steak Grille - both great local restaurants!

We arrived late in the evening and checked in down the road, where we were helped by a lovely lady who gave us great tips on where to get dinner and what to do in the area.Room was newly renovated, clean and convenient. The renovation was not done totally professionally (from an OCD German perspective ;-)) but we were still very happy with our room. We didn't need to turn on the AC, which was good as it was in fact a little loud when it ran.Overall, we would definitely come back to this lovely little Motel.

Paid I think $158 total for 2 nights through Priceline. Room was decent. Beds were pretty firm. Pool was very nice and right next to the lake. Our room was in the front so you had to park in the back and walk around. Wish our patio would have been covered cause the Skeeter's are pretty bad.Food & drinks: Pizza place and grocery store right next door, but closes early

I've never stayed in a place like Capt.'s Table and hopefully I never will again. The renovations being completed made accessing our room treacherous. An obstacle course of tools, debris, tiles, and fixtures should have warned us of what was to come. Lucky for us the A/C was loud enough to drown out the construction work noise! The high-gloss tiled floor was a slip hazard we thankfully avoided and the tip envelope was stained enough that I just tossed it. Bed linens had about 50 black whiskers all over them, combined with the filthy window sills I really just wanted to leave but stuck it out as part of the "everglades-adventure". Consider yourself warned: this was the most uncomfortable room I've ever stayed in, you should look for another hotel.

This review is for Room 216, stayed one night, good value for the area. Good location for visiting the west side of the Everglades. Check in was at a different building down the road but I didn't see that as a problem at all. Good size room, comfy bed, spacious enclosed patio plus a small open patio on this second floor room. Nice view of sunset in the evening from the patio since this room was on the west end of the building. Good shower pressure, good towels, but I could not get a consistent water temp in the shower - it kept switching between too hot and too cold - probably a broken mixing valve. Good parking, there was hardly anyone here this time of year (July). No breakfast but there is a small grocery store across the street and plenty of nearby restaurants. Pool looked nice, I did not have time to use it.

Rooms outdated, old super noisy air condition. Trouble at the pool with association member that told us she rules the pool. Looks like the place is dyingNoteworthy details: The hotel has no reception. It is 1 ml away .
