A-1 Automotive Center was recently sold.
After being loyal customers of Beau and Michelle we were sad to here they had sold the business, and a little nervous about new ownership, with the reputation some mechanic shops have for ripping people off.
Well we had our first experience with the new owner, George today.
I called with a problem with my AC on my Honda Odyessy on Friday, he said sure bring it by and drop it off on Monday and I will take a look at it. I also had a squeaky brake so I asked him to check that as well.
He called this afternoon with good news, no problem with the AC, I had set the button in the wrong position. Duh. But he ran all the tests on the lines and checked the freon which was a little low but no big deal, he topped it off anyway. No charge! Very cool. Checked the brake pads, no need to replace them yet, still in pretty good shape. Yay!
Then he also told me that when driving the car the tech noticed a drag in the transmission, which we knew about but hadn't mentioned to him.
He had the tech come out and show me how to adjust the AC and the guy proceeded to tell me that honda had a recall on my year honda and that he had looked it up, but it was past the warranty on my car, but it might be worth calling them. So I did, and guess what?
Instead of the cost a new transmission I have an appt, at the honda dealer to have the transmission reset. Fingers crossed the service department said it may still be able to be fixed at no cost or maybe a minimal charge compared to a new transmission.
So a big shout out to A-1 for the continued stellar customer service!!
And a huge thank you to the new owner, George and his guys in the shop, they really know thier craft!

I’ve had my vehicles serviced by A1 for over a decade. I don’t even live in Eustis any more and I drive the 45 min for this shop. The prices are fair, the service is fantastic and they are honest. When the repair of my Volvo is out of their scope, they help me find someone who can do it and they follow up. I love this shop and highly recommend it.

Spent almost 1500$ at this shop to get work done. Get home to find out they didn’t put pin back on correctly no big deal every makes mistakes… We will give another chance because everyone is human mistakes happen every day Needed ac fixed got quoted was told to call ahead time so parts could be ready… Stopped in Monday was told they would order parts and we would have it dropped off Wednesday morning before they even opened called Tuesday was told they don’t order parts there local. So just confirmed once again that it would be there Wednesday before they opened husband called first thing this morning to make sure they received keys they did he drove by around 9 his truck was parked out back same spot at 245 pm so 345 pm he calls up there and guy tells him let me check on it my husband stated he wasn’t paying all the hours of labor fees and it has been sitting behind there shop all day only suppose to be a couple hours job if it was going to be an all day job they should of said that if they was busy they should of said that as they close at 5pm….. so at 345pm the truck hadn’t even been touched besides moved to the front to the back…
What has me really mad is they left his truck unlocked upfront with his keys sitting in plain view in the front seat UNLOCKED…. after he said don’t worry about it I’ll come get it since they had an attitude why not leave his keys in your business…. He has a system amps etc… why be so childish and so immature about it and leave his keys outside truck unlocked when you a business should been calling and updating someone. This morning there was no cars there at one time he drove by there was no vechiles in any of the bays….
Very unprofessional leaving keys in front seat with truck unlocked when we drop keys off in your business.
