Supermarkets near Edgewater, FL

“I wish I could give a one star and a five star at the same time. My family and I are at this Publix multiple times a week. We spend hundreds of dollars in this store. Outside of my traditional grocery shopping, I love to come to Publix to redeem my WIC benefits. The store is always so neatly organized, and the WIC is plainly labeled and I usually always have a great experience with no issues. Sometimes the wick acts funny and we have to re-ring items for it to ring up properly, but usually the cashiers are very good about helping me do this.

This morning, I had a very different experience and I’m very saddened by it. I came early this morning after dropping my daughter off to school so the store was fairly empty and there were no lines. I had a pleasant shopping experience as all the employees around The store were so nice , playing with my baby , and just so pleasant per usual. When it was time to ring up my stuff, I went to the line of the cashier Gwayne (however you spell it ) and she had an older gentleman bagging for her. There was no one else in line and she rung up all of my items. When it came time to pay, $32 worth of groceries did not go through on my WIC card. I said hmm I wonder what didn’t go through, she huffed and puffed and instead of attempting to help , she gave the receipt to me in a rude and condescending manner . As I was looking at it, A man came in line behind me however there were multiple other registers open. The cashier really asked me if I wanted to just go to customer service to get it done. I said no usually the cashiers are able to help me out. Sometimes it just acts funny. Her in the bagger looked at each other and rolled their eyes. She then said well. Savannah knows a lot about WIC and I don’t know anything. So she suspended my transaction and sent me to customer service with Savannah, while loudly telling the bagger “JUST TELL HER ITS A PROBLEM WITH HER WIC” as if she meant to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed for paying with WIC. No one should be made to feel this way , whether they’re using WIC , ebt or money ! Times are hard for everyone right now and my family needs all the help we can get . To be so nasty and judgmental is beyond me . How can you be a cashier and you don’t know about WIC and not even willing to learn or help !?

THANK GOD FOR SAVANNAH! She was so kind and patient and apologize for the actions of her coworker. She actually went out of her way to take me to another register, re-ring my items and it was a such a simple fix. She made me feel human and understood & I appreciate her so much .

This is my favorite publix. But I will never go to that cashier again ! Do better ! Be more like Savannah ?”

“Publix truly made my wedding fabulous. I was trying to keep it in budget which isn't always easy. Instead of cake we opted for cupcakes and then a small cake for us to cut. (see pic, just before the can began to topple ?) Came out beautifully. Wish I could remember the name of the woman at the bakery. It was 2012. She was great, always available, placed by hand all the sugar pearls on every single cupcake! Everyone loved them they were delicious.”

“I was unaware of the closing time & the Produce manager was closing up. He found my friend & I letting us know politely that we'd over stayed. He left it at that & let it be our decision to get it in gear & let them go home.

“A little pricey but clean. Prices have increased more than I expect and sometimes advertised products are not in stock. I'm not claiming it's their fault but it's certainly true...
UPDATE:
It's almost 2025 and the stock issues have improved as the supply chain has been up and running for a couple of years. Alas, prices just get worse. It is discouraging.”

I don't like self checkout. I don't like how it asks 3x am I sure I want to pay now.
I liked Aldi's better when it focused on having cashiers who were super fast and were allowed to sit down and were paid well.
the products are good and still under "BIDENOMICS" affordable for the working family.
However the self checkout is in my opinion annoying/frustrating”
