We stopped at this store twice last year and again this year a couple times while on vacation. We spent a couple hundred $$ each time on bait and supplies. Each time the staff were less than welcoming to us, even my 11 yo son noticed that he felt like we were an inconvenience to them.Later this trip we found Survivors Bait and Tackle on SGI where the staff was super friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome. We’ll be going to Survivors from now on…

I am rating the purchase of live shrimp only.Went in to purchase 3 dozen live shrimp for $3 a dozen plus hooks, rigs etc (spent just under $50 total). My only complaint was with the shrimp. The water was cloudy and I didn’t check the size… just trusted this place based on the reviews. Most of the shrimp were 2.5 inches long…. So tiny that they flew off the hook sometimes when casting. Some were as small as 2”… I threw those back in the ocean. Got about 6 shrimp that were so large that we cut them in thirds. They did give me about 4 dozen shrimp but only about a dozen were usable.I stopped in to buy more but asked about the size this time. I told them that I didn’t want to buy more if they were going to be small. I was told that they can’t grade the shrimp and yes, there would be small ones but they always throw in a few extra when they are. I told them that I could hardly use more than a dozen of the ones that they sold me. He was sincerely sorry. My neighbor went to Jolly Rogers baitstore on St George Island and got beautiful live shrimp for $4. Definitelyworth it!!My advice is to ask about the size of the live shrimp before you buy from this place. Better yet, go somewhere else.

They have the freshest bait. Shrimp on ice, big mollet fingerling and rod combos for a good price. I'm from Orlando and do a lot of saltwater fishing. I like this place
