This is the only place I will take my babies. Last year Dr Smith saved my beloved cat Jupiter's life, he was very sick with a urinary blockage. It was not just the fact that he saved him, it was the level of compassion and patience him and his staff showed towards me in my very emotional state. They made sure to give frequent updates and lots of love towards Jupiter who had to stay there. I also bring my dog, other cat and now new baby kitten there. I am so grateful to have them in our lives. I went to get the number for a friend and saw I never left a review, they deserve more than 5 stars.

My dog Luna was spayed here last Tuesday. Ive had 5 dogs in my life and not one of them has ever had a surgery as amazing as this vet just preformed.!
She has been walking around like nothing happened at all since the day I brought her home.
The surgery was done so so incredibly well.! There isn’t even any redness or irritation around the incision.! This quick of a recovery can only be possible by a vet who took the time and cared greatly for the animal they were treated..

Due to unfortunate circumstances we had to find a vet to help end our dogs suffering. He was very old and experienced a seizure episode, he had not experience them before. We had never been to this office before but they understood very quickly the pain we were experiencing making this decision. They asked minimal questions once they understood this was the only option. Our dog was very nervous around unfamiliar people and animals so the staff not only allowed us to wait in the car but allowed us to use a separate door to enter and leave in. They did not perform unnecessary procedures and were very patient with us after our dog passed. They allowed us as much time as we needed. The compassion the staff showed for an animal they had never even met tells me they truly care for their jobs. We elected to bring our boy home to be laid to rest. About a week after we left the vets office we received a card in the mail signed by all the staff and a little flower blooming pod we could plant in honor of him. It was truly unexpected and very appreciated! This office will always get high praise from me and I plan to send any family or friends to this vet in the future. Thank you to this vet and staff for understanding and loving our pets like we do!

My husband took our dog there today. She gets allergies about every 9 months and needs a shot our regular vet had 3 month wait. For extra 150 could of got her in later in week This vet pulled her records gave her 2 shots and was great. This will be her new vet. Prices our half of what we would have paid in crescent city. The staff was very good and understanding that our dog didn't get along with others kept her separate. She has already stopped itching and it's been less than 12 hours. I would highly recommend them and will be taking my other dog in for check up

Call themselves an emergency vet but when our dog was having a seizure they turned us away because we werent a client.

If we could give them 0 stars we would!!! we had to call them bc our vet was closed, observed New Year’s Day. We told them our situation which was a flat out EMERGENCY. Their only response was “we can’t take you bc we aren’t accepting new clients, haven’t been for several months” how the HELL could u “provide emc” but aren’t taking new clients. That’s what EMERGENCY IS!!! Update 8/23
They are still calling themselves “Emergency Medical Care” which they are NOT!

Thank you Dr. Smith and staff for your wonderful treatment of all my fur babies, but especially my Ziggy. Although the outcome was not as expected and/or hoped, you treated both Ziggy and I with kindness and grace, and I will never forget it.
