What I like most is the nostalgic feel this place has. Having grown up in Central Florida there used to be a lot more places like this on the various state roads (when there were orange groves as far as the eye could see). It's nice to see Davidson hang in there and staying traditional.

Super beautiful store! I bought some of the jelly candies which are yummy! They have samples of them and fudge, even a sample of the orange that they have for the month which was honeybell! Just an FYI you can buy them individually for $1.25 each!

I have not been in Davidson of Dundee in 2 years. Their selection of Candies, Jellies, Sea Shells, Sauces, Fruit, and Souvenirs is Delightful; and makes a stop in (off hwy 27) worth your time, whether a resident "local" or vacationer. The candy factory had tours at set times, and for school trips. (not sure if they still do) They take Orders and have a Catalog. I did notice many candies have added artificial flavors added. I do Not remember any artificial additives 3 years ago, when I bought for my son's teachers & Principal. They sell "Orange Blossom" perfume, I really would have liked to buy ($7.95); but, it had no ingredients listed. It smelled just like orange blossoms; and, someone will answer the 800# on the packaging ?. And, they are open on Sunday. FREE SAMPLES ?Parking: Parking spots were all open, on a Sunday. The lot is narrow; so, if they were "busy" parking might be more challenging. The driveway is open immediately to highway 27 north. You just have to be alert for cars traveling at 55 mph to enter or exit parking lot.

You MUST visit here! High quality and homemade marmalade, jams, jellies, spreads, jelly candies, fresh citrus fruits and more. They are The best. The jelly citrus candies are lovely, great natural citrus flavour with the right amount of sweet. My husband gets a jar of Orange Marmalade, while I love the Coconut spread for my morning toast. My family stopped here on our Florida vacations and now my family do as well, a 40 plus years tradition. Thank-you to the Davidson’s family team for making and sharing a quality product!Wheelchair accessibility: The parking lot, entrance and building are all accessible.

Dundee is a small Central Florida town along the Lake Wales Ridge, 50 miles south of Orlando and 30 miles from Kissimmee. This is where you will find the most uniquely Florida candy store. Back in the early 1900s T. W. Davidson grew oranges, grapefruit, and tangerines near Dundee. In the 1960s his son, Glen, planted his own citrus groves and started Davidson of Dundee. Glen had a career with the large candy companies up north. In Florida he created his own version of the citrus candy, based on a recipe his mother used to make with sugar cane and citrus juice. He used the fresh juices from his groves so the candy retained its full citrus flavor. Davidson of Dundee is now run by Glen's son, Tom Davidson. The candy company has been featured on the Food Network, Fox, CBS, ABC, and has also been featured in Smart Money and Southern Living magazines. The process of making delicious jam and candy starts in their own 200 acre citrus orchard where they grow Valencia oranges, tangerines, and key limes. The harvested fruit is then taken into the kitchens at Davidson where the it is cut and juiced. Jelly is made from juice, jam contains the pulp, and marmalade contains the peel. None of the fruit goes to waste. The juice is also used in the candy. You can watch the process from the large glass windows. Whole fruit is shipped to people all over the country. One of the highlights of a visit to Davidsons is the free samples. Tom still makes the citrus flavored jelly candy his dad created but he has also experimented with new flavors. You can buy the candy in small bags or in different gift basket combinations. In addition to the jam, jelly, spreads, and candy, Davidson also sells chocolate alligators, tea, sauces, dressings, and Florida souvenirs. I couldn't resist the pecan logs and strawberry delight jelly candy. If you can't make it in person they have an online store.
