“As someone inexperienced in bikes and having bad past experience with bicycle repair shops, I was a bit worried having to take my newly acquired secondhand Dahon Mariner to get fixed up, but 88 cycling was THE BEST.They gave me a ton of advice, answered all my questions, and even threw in a discount. I thought I'd have to leave my bike for a day or two, so I was happy to find out theyd be done by evening - but then it turns out they finished in just an hour and a half!!!They are quick, efficient, good at their jobs, and well priced. “Just moved back to the neighborhood, my daughter just into bike riding. So I decided to fix my ol' GT mountain bike. Needed a tire and tube. I decided to stop at hialeah schwin. Can't believe the place is still around. It's like the OG hialeah bike shop. I was attended to promptly and friendly. It did my heart well to see the same old man owned the shop. As I of yesterday that makes 40 years of buying and maintaining bikes with them. Their prices are on par with online ordering etc... At least here you know what you are getting, and you have the pleasure of supporting local business. Definitely check this place out .”

“I had a flat on my e-bike and I found it hard to find a shop to fix it. The first place insisted on texting with me all day only to ghost me when I told them I just wanted to fix a flat, not buy new tires. The second place only works on e-bikes that they sell, which is not the type I have. The third place only fixes motorcycles though they sell e-bikes, too. Finally, I decided to go to SOMI Bike. I called first to see if I needed an appt and they told me just to drop in so I did. They gave me a quote up-front, which they stuck to at time to pay. They were all very nice. It should be noted that no one in there spoke very much English. That's ok with me bc I understand and speak some Spanish but this might be a problem for some people. They seemed to understand English just fine, though. I spoke English the whole time and they spoke Spanish and we were able to communicate effectively. They told me to expect my bike to be ready in 4 days but it was actually done about 90 minutes later so I was able to run back and pick it up the same day before I had to leave for work, which made me very happy! It's nice that it is located on the Underline Path. The price was fair but I did find it a little odd that they are set up to receive tips at check out. I get it, everyone is doing it these days but, really? I can't blame them- why be the only ones not asking for a tip? But I don't love how overboard the tipping culture is getting around here. I plan to make this place my "home" bike shop from now on. I also liked that it's a bit more of a 'humble' shop unlike some of the other bigger or fancier places that are all about the mark-up and not about getting people out there enjoying biking. Overall, a great experience.”
