The reservation staff minimized the impact of the renovation during the time that I booked our rooms. The lobby, pool, and restaurant are all closed. I booked 2 rooms: a deluxe king and a suite. The deluxe king was fine. The suite was not ready for a stay, and I should not have been assigned that room. There was no light in the living room which rendered the room unusable at night (unless you enjoy sitting in the dark,) the phone didn’t work ( and when I used my cell to contact the front office, they did not answer,) and the decor was not complete. They offered me another room, not a suite, but I was honestly nervous to move after reading other reviews of no hot water, and leaks in the ceiling.
Construction noise started at 8:30 am everyday including Sunday. There was a wedding party across the hall who partied until 3 am for two of my three night stay.
All in all, definitely not a 5 star experience. It is a shame that hotel management choose to dupe their patrons into staying during the renovation without revealing the true condition of the hotel, rather than being transparent. When this is complete, it will be a nice hotel, and likely management is banking on the fact that they will have sufficient patronage in the long term to ensure they will not mind losing the people like me who feel ripped off and disappointed. I, for one, will never stay there again!

What a surprise weekend getaway !! You never have to leave this hotel . Even the restaurant was great !! This hidden gem in Delray will always have my heart. This room didn’t disappoint. The spa services were impeccable. I’m definitely staying here again

Should of let us know about construction. They charge us a resort fee and the pool wasn’t even even open.

It was under construction. But the rooms are great, as was the service.

I would not recommend staying here because there is a MASSIVE renovation happening. The renovation was not revealed until check-in, at which point it was too late to change hotels. There were almost no facilities that were accessible and there was construction noise that began promptly at 7am on Saturday morning. The "Seagate Café" consisted of a single table in what I assume was a converted workout room. It was later revealed that guests somehow auto-agreed to the renovation when they went through the room booking online flow, but no other guests I spoke to realized this (which I assume was the desired intent).

We have stayed at the Seagate 4 of the last 5 years. We have stayed for as many as 10 days on the trips. On the last 2 trips we invited other couples to vacation with us. They stayed at the Seagate based on our high recommendation. Luckily, our guests cancelled this year. We would have been embarrassed.
We were deeply disappointed in the Seagate properties’ condition. It was under an extensive renovation that was not only loud but was filthy. Workers footprints and dust were everywhere in the facility. We were woken each morning to the sound and vibrations of power drills/jack hammers through the walls & ceilings of our room and the hallway.
The Beach Club dining facility was closed for renovations. The hotel pool area had no working umbrellas. The ice machine on our floor did not work during our visit.
The beach club, transportation, and hotel staff complained about being short staffed and long hours. They stated almost everyone was laid off and all were overworked.
The only shining star of our stay was their onsite restaurant. Best food and service we have ever had at the Seagate.
We were planning an April 2025 trip and were bringing our daughter and her family. I know that the renovations are supposed to be completed by then but the last trip so miserable, we may be moving on.
UPDATE: We have just booked our 8 night 2025 vacation at The Seagate with our daughter and her family. Will keep you posted. Looking forward to the trip and exploring the expansive renovated vacation property and all it has to offer.

It’s the private beach w a pool, chairs, umbrellas, towels, and food service that differentiate this gem. Beach access is a 15-min walk or the hotel has a regular and convenient shuttle. All you need is a book and a hat! They are remodeling everything now and it will be gorgeous. Also, the hotel is situated in the best part of Delray and you can walk to all the good shopping and restaurants.

I’ve had one negative experience after another at the Seagate. I stayed a few weeks ago while evacuating from Sarasota for Hurricane Milton. I am a single mother of a small toddler and I had to bring my pets with me as well. I was traveling alone trying to manage them all by myself. When I arrived and checked in after driving in traffic for over 5 hours, I needed to take my dog for a walk to stretch his legs and let him go to the bathroom but I couldn’t leave the room because my door was broken and wouldn’t lock or close. I had to wait for maintenance to come and fix it before I could take my son and my dog downstairs. The next day I had a leak in my ceiling dripping all over the bathroom and bedroom. Maintenance had to come and fix the issue and I was told room service would come and clean the mess. When I asked how long it would take because I had to take my dog and my toddler downstairs, they said 20 minutes total but it took them 1 hour and 25 minutes to finish. I was stuck downstairs in a limited space due to renovations trying to manage my child and my puppy. Next, the water never got very warm and my son wouldn’t shower because he was too cold. I tried to run the bath but the water was yellow and cold. The next day, we took the shuttle to a local petting zoo a few minutes away. When I called for pickup they didn’t arrive until over an hour later. I was waiting with my toddler outside and had 1% battery on my phone. I had to contact the hotel several times to see if they were still picking us up. When I complained about my stay, I they said they would credit me the resort fee back. Most of the resort was closed anyway due to the hurricane, and when I checked my checking statement, I had a $500 charge that no one sent me a receipt about or discussed with me. I was also told the card would only be used for incidentals. When I called to ask what this $500 charge was for, they said their guess was that it was for a hold and would be credited back. I called again and requested a receipt. It wasn’t sent to me. I called a third time to request again, and finally someone sent it to me. I was charged valet for 2 cars. I only brought one car as I was alone with my child and pets. I was also charged the resort fee I was told would be waived (and keep in mind none of the beach club amenities were even open). I have since tried to speak to a manager multiple times, and the call never goes through. I end up getting dropped. I was told a manager would call me. No one will contact me about these issues. I am very very unhappy about my experience and especially about being overcharged and no one taking responsibility and crediting this back! I’m already struggling as a single mom and had to miss work for the entire week. Now they’re charging me money I don’t have for things I shouldn’t be charged for.

The hotel is under massive renovations and many of the facilities are not available. Stay away until they are done. This a beautiful hotel and as much as we like it, we will not return til the work is done.

Construction going on in the entire hotel! You would think that they would do one section at a time. We stayed on the second floor, the next morning at 7:00AM the banging and drilling started on the floor right above us, they were actually in the room right above us. We could hear every nail dropping on the floor above us, it was so loud! They finally moved us to a room on the fourth floor, but even then, you could still hear all the construction going on. Nothing was open at the hotel. Pool was closed, restaurant was closed, gift shop was closed, etc. you would think if a hotel is doing that much construction, they would close until construction is complete or like I said above, just work on one section at a time. Another thing, two days in a row during our stay they shut the water off in the hotel from 11:30-5:00! That was a huge inconvenience, especially after being at the beach all day. I do not suggest staying here.

We evacuated from a hurricane here with an infant. No notice prior to booking or option to cancel despite they’re actively doing construction, refused to stop the drilling as hurricane is making landfall on the opposite coast but somehow simultaneously told us they had to turn off the water for “the hurricane” - but construction is still ongoing. It’s been off for 4 hours with “no idea” when its going to be back on. Can’t use the toilet or wash your hands. Told us they needed to move chairs in from balcony and put sopping wet chairs just in the room blocking the balcony. Also being charged full price for 2 nights AND being charged the “resort fee” even though it’s ALL CLOSED. Lobby is under construction so EVERYONE is using the same single elevator. They said it’s “off season” except somehow they’re making a ton of money today and have not made any additional accommodations for us or offered to cancel any fees for the hotel. A motel 8 would have provided better accommodations - at least they have water…

We loved our stay at The Seagate! Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the Nespresso machine in the mornings. We sat on the balcony overlooking the pool and drank our coffee. The spa was wonderful . Our massages were perfect. The hotel is currently under construction so we weren't able to experience their restaurants or shop, but there are plenty nearby! The shuttle runs you anywhere within a three mile radius. We rented a car, but didn't really need it. Everyone who worked at the hotel was kind, accommodating, and wonderful! I highly recommend staying here if you're planning a trip to Delray!

Hotel is under construction, so is the to it belonging Beach club. The swimming pool at the hotel was not open, a lot of construction noise made me run out of the hotel several times during my 9 day stay. In several occasions I could not sleep because of the noise. There was only access to the hotel through the side entrance. Guests who stayed at the 2nd floor told me, that it was smelling like paint . I couldn't get a refund, as I booked through a company, therefore I had no other choice than staying there. I did get an upgrade to a better room but that didn't take away the disturbance of the construction noise during the day. Staff is very friendly, the room was nice, but there was nowhere indicated that the Hotel was under construction when I searched on the different websites for booking the seagate hotel! It definitely was not the experience I was looking for after 5 years of not having had any vacation!

Do not stay here until renovations are complete! I stayed there for a special birthday celebration but it turned into a huge disappointment. Too much construction all at once which pretty much leaves no amenities on the premises. There is construction noise throughout. The lobby is closed. The POOL is closed and ALL restaurants are closed. The hotel is basically just rooms. The rooms are nice and spacious but don’t have a fridge. The only option to enjoy is the beach club which requires a shuttle or drive. It was nice but the restaurant there is closed for renovations as well.
The saving grace were the amazing employees who went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable

The Good: Upon check-in during first stay at the Seagate Hotel & Spa, I encountered Eddie. Eddie is all the things when it comes to centering around: hospitality, graciousness, and human refinement. It was an awesome experience to benefit from their dedicated care, thank you so very much Eddie for your 5 star management of our stay!
The Facts: Our initial stay was really nice despite construction (with exception to a screaming child at war with their parents), the rooms are far more spacious and appointed (bath tub + shower, microwave, etc) than the newer hotel properties you'll find here in Delray Beach and the private beach was a standout for us after finally getting to enjoy it after an entire week plus of extreme heat advisories and torrential rain. The one day of beach enjoyment, although very hot was pure bliss. The staff at all points were genuinely welcoming, accommodating, respectful and kind and the convenience of being shuttled over even though the hotel is walking distance from the beach made a world of sense given the triple digit heat. This experience is what sealed not only our return patronage, but caused me to refer the hotel and Eddie to new friends we met at a restaurant who had out of state family members coming into town.
The Bad: Still, no lobby after about a month in between stays. Upon return, we were assigned a room with a large balcony, but the second you entered the room you could smell *cigarette smoke* emitting from the bathroom. Clearly someone had spent a great deal of time smoking in the bathroom and the fan / ventilation is only fractionally functional to begin with. Disgusting to bathe and refresh in an area when you'll only walk out smelling of smoke. Also, in support of other reviewers this is our third room within the property and none of the rooms have been jetted tubs.
Our room was located in the heart/opex of ongoing construction, with constant banging, and disruptive noise, and even knocks on our door throughout the day and night. This is certainly not a place for a peaceful vacation. The construction limits access to key amenities, including the lobby and restaurant, and while the fitness center is well appointed and definitely fantastic, the noise in the room is unbearable. No quiet hours are respected, and we left utterly exhausted and violated.
To make matters worse, a group of young adults partied next door for nearly 12 hours. After reporting the disturbance, someone tried to enter our room shortly after. The experience was deeply unsettling.
BEWARE: Despite having the Do Not Disturb sign hung on the door in both my initial and my second stay at this hotel, I've found staff will take liberty to override guest rights by using their master key card to access the door despite being occupied with a guest. In fact, as I was speaking to the Front Desk Manager on the phone, for the second time in the same morning, staff entered the room using their master key card.
Even after receiving an assurance from the Front Desk Manager that he'd contacted the Director of Housekeeping to ensure no one else would barge into the room again, while unclothed, the master key was used again to open and attempt access to the room. This is clearly a sign of a lack of or poor communication regarding a critical customer issue.
During this temporary construction set up, hotel security is compromised. Meaning, the hotel is easily accessed by non-guests at all hours.
Our stays were blatantly contrasting, and the second stay was for the worse, at this point, I do not recommend Seagate which disappoints me but the facts surrounding our guest experience are just that, facts.
The second stay was a disappointment and an absolute waste of money during slow season AND a slow national and global economy which is a deep concern for me.
It'll be interesting to see how this hotel changes / improves po
