Wow, what an amazing place and a hidden gem. The staff was over the top amazing, our cabin was clean as a whistle, and the property is immaculately maintained in a manner that would rival Disney World.
We sat out on the patio for an early morning, sunrise and enjoyed the peace and quiet. This is a great place and we have added it to our list of places to make return visits.

We want to thank Marilu and Gavin for all the help and advice. The rooms were super clean and just what we wanted except they don't have a microwave in them. We rented a boat for the day and had a great time! Highly recommend it.

Rooms: Rooms were comfortable with peaceful and lovely views
Noteworthy details: Mary Lou in the office was very pleasant and informative. She informed us of local sightseeing ventures. We enjoyed Friday night adventures downtown and Deland. Deland has a lovely downtown area with interesting shops and restaurants.

Small place, but managed to handle our large group efficiently. Pretty basic breakfast/lunch menu. Very reasonable prices. Food was well-prepared and served promptly. Payment a bit inefficient as they sent us all to the kitchen counter to pay. Convenient location if you are staying at the resort or boating/camping here. Otherwise, really off the besten path.

Stayed here a few nights in June 2024 and also July 2024. We can’t get enough of this place. This is a true hidden gem. Very peaceful and relaxing. These are the cleanest rooms. Carol in main office is so helpful and sweet. Love fishing from the docks, so much beautiful wildlife to see. If you’re looking for a place on the St John’s river, and a relaxing time, this is it!! 10/10. We can’t wait to come back. Love how close the river and pool are to the rooms. Beautiful views in the river view rooms!!

Spent a weekend. Loved the place. It's so peaceful, just what we needed after a busy busy week. The cottage was nice, clean and had everything needed. Staff was nice and very kind. From there we visited Blue Spring State Park, Alexander spring in Ocala and Mt. Dora. Very nice places. We will definitely go back to Hontoon Landing!

We went for a boat ride today with friends. The weather was nice except for rain storm. This is not the first time we rented pontoon. Always fun except the steps they wouldn't leave for us. It was very hard to get into boat for one of our passengers at Blue Springs. I guess we have to bring our own.

It was such a wonderful trip that we booked for this Memorial Day weekend before we left last year.Nearby activities: We bought our boat so we were able to go up and down the river and had sooooo much fun! Good restaurants nearby. Sit out on your balcony and observe gators, manatee and other wildlife right in front of you. Is lived in Florida all my life and for the first time, saw a bear on our way to Hontoon.
