I took my Eclectus Parrot to another vet for a couple of years. She was having intestinal problems. We did blood tests twice and two rounds of antibiotics with nothing changing. Things were getting worse so I took her to Dr. Madrigal. After a thorough check up and tests, I brought her home with 10 days of medication. She was better immediately and today her intestinal issues seem to have resolved. The staff is great and they really do love the animals. I highly recommend them.

I'd give 0 stars if I could. This place caused my family's guinea pig to die.
We went here months ago because we went to check on Nutmeg's labored breathing, flaky (NEUROTIC) ears, and eye crust. A male vet said that it could've been mites, but saw that it wasn't the issue and said that the eye crust and his ears were possibly a result of ringworm, (even though it looked nothing like it, my guinea pig had it before), and tried to charge us over 40 dollars for a useless cream, but we bought it ourselves outside of the vet. (The cream didn't work because Nutmeg DIDNT have ringworm).
The biggest issue is that the vet said that he didn't hear any labored breathing and didn't notice that Nutmeg's ears were neurotic. He said that Nutmeg's breathing was normal, and if it was off we should come back. So we just thought we were overthinking it and didn't say anything more.
We tried to take Nutmeg in recently for the same issue because it suddenly worsened to the point our baby couldn't move or eat much, but we were told to wait until WEDNESDAY.
We managed to find another place that would take Nutmeg, (Oakland Park Animal Hospital), and found out that our sweet baby had heart issues and would suffer from heart failure. We learned that neurotic flaky ears were a symptom of that, and same with the heavy labored breathing. All the information we should've know, information that would've been so helpful months ago, we had gotten it all when it was too late. Nutmeg passed away yesterday.
The vet at Oakland said if we caught it early on something could've been done, but because Nutmeg's condition was very late stage, there was nothing that could be done. My family and I DID catch it early on, and we came to YOU, and YOU failed us. Your male vet, told us his breathing was fine, so we believed him.
Thanks for absolutely nothing, never coming back here EVER again. Don't ever bring your guinea pigs or any pets here. Nutmeg could've still been alive if your vet knew what the hell he was talking about.

I took my green-cheek conure to Broward avian and exotic animal hospital. Dr. Madrigal was not only very caring and couldn't handle him very well but he was also extremely knowledgeable. He took his time to explain everything to us and give us different options to treat him. I would highly recommend Dr. Madrigal. Thanks for the treatment you gave Bobo!!

Can’t thank Dr. Madrigal and the staff enough for taking good care of my beloved leopard gecko Platanito. He was starving himself for a while and had a lot of stuck shed in his eye causing him immense discomfort. They cleaned his eye up, gave him some supplements, and made sure to educate me on reptile care. After a few weeks of monitoring and treatment, he’s back to his old self again eating solid worms like a good boi. It’s difficult to find a place that actually cares for the little guys.❤️

The staff and Dr. Kelleher went above and beyond to help me (visiting from another country) with a unique situation (globe-trotting bunny with an ear infection). Their professionalism, concern and willingness to help, regardless of the situation is a rare find.

All I can say is I will never recommend Dr. K or her office. My Bunny fell suddenly ill and we brought him there for care. She financially drained us and suggested very invasive testing which would have included hospitalization for a long period of time. When we refused she became very dismissive. I was in tears and she did not show compassion for the situation. Luckily I got a second opinion and the new Vet saved my bunny’s life. It has been 4 months since my bunny got sick and he is thriving. $2000 in Dr K’s office got me nowhere but the other vet gave me several options to try and help him. I will be forever grateful that he survived and is doing well but at no thanks to Dr K. Please think twice before stepping foot into this office. Horrible experience and she wants your $$$$ first and foremost. No compassion and very worried about her ego. She tried to make me feel bad for getting upset with the way the office was handling call backs and follow ups. I tried to stay calm but I had a very sick animal and all she cared about was telling us about all of her experience. Well it got me nowhere but broke. Do not believe the hype. Go to a Vet who cares about the animal first and their ego and pocket last! Now I’m not saying she doesn’t have a right to charge us, but offering one option which was not affordable and extremely invasive and no other options just proves she was out for her wallet first and our animals wellbeing second. Don’t go! Trust me

We are so happy to have had Dr. Bairon Madrigal as our vet for the duck we love, Donut, who was bitten by a dog and had a broken leg as a result. The first vet we went to (at a completely different location) was absolutely horrible and misdiagnosed the injury, brushing us off and saying the leg wasn't even broken. I knew something was still very wrong, so I decided to go to Broward Avian & Exotic (which I wish I went to first!) for another opinion. As soon as we saw Dr. Madrigal, it was like night and day. His care and compassion was exactly what Donut needed. (And Dr. Madrigal is a serious lover of ducks...so we couldn't have possibly asked for a better match!). Donut is now healed, and we could not have done it without Dr. Madrigal's help. We were so pleased with our experience.

Do not take your pets here! Animal goes in for a simple neuter and days later die from an infection. If you care about your pets do your research and take them somewhere where the care is 100 percent!
