Due to COVID you have to wait in your vehicle while staff takes your pet inside but I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I had just adopted a kitten from the Halifax Human Society (buyer beware) and a few days later this poor kitten was sneezing about 15 times in a row and I know that they need their sleep at this age but he was so sick that he was super lethargic and slept all day and night. I took him to Driftwood Animal Hospital mainly because of the location to my home and they had a same day appointment available. My new pet was extremely sick with a severe upper respiratory infection and an ear infection. The staff told me over the phone that they had been seeing a lot of sick animals from the Halifax Humane Society. The staff was very friendly and professional and the vet prescribed him an antibiotic, ear drops and something to help with his immune system. I’m going to be taking him there from now on and I didn’t have to pay an arm and a leg either. The wait wasn’t very long and there was about five other cars with their pets. Everything was explained thoroughly to me about how to give the medicine and after only two days he was playing and getting into everything like a normal kitten. Thank you so much for everything!

Dr Henderson is very knowledgeable about animal medical care. She listened to me about my concerns for my cat to ensure I was given all options for care and comfort. He is 15 years old. Every day with him is a gift.

This man Gary Langford DVM told my adopter his cat has pyometra. That she needs an emergency spay. Pyometra is a pus filled uterus. In order to suffer from pyometra your pet has to be unfixed. This is common in animals that recently gave birth usually it's from a stillborn baby remaining in the uterus and decaying causing infection. The CAT IS SPAYED. Do not risk your beloved baby to this fraud and QUACK VET! It can be their lives. I would not let him cut a cake much less a cherished pet. He makes grossly inaccurate guesses with your baby's life in his hands.

*I had to take my dog in during the whole Corona Virus thing and they had precautions up so that we could not go inside, so my review is only what I experienced outside the office. They were able to take me at the last minute to get my dog, Bella looked at. She is a 12 year old pitbull that has not been herself lately, didn't want to walk, or do much, except lick her feet and knees. I thought she might be hurting, and we had just moved across the country and she had to travel for 4 days in our sprinter van (several weeks prior) and she just wasn't adjusting like i thought she should. They made us stay in our vehicles (under a big shady tree, thank God) and a clerk came out with a paperwork sheath, luckily I only needed to fill out one sheet. They came back out to get the paperwork and then came back out again to take Bella. A strong gal took her out of the car for me as I was wondering how I would get the old girl out by myself. They took Bella in and then about 15 min later a nice young vet fellow came out to chat and let me know what was going on. He suggested some meds for her for her pain, as she has arthritis, and some allergy meds as she is very sensitive to seasonal allergies. He also mentioned a bump on top of her heard that I knew had been there a while and he suggested doing a quick biopsy of it. I said go ahead and do it. So in another 15 min (I brought a book) they brought Bella back with a bag of things for me. The vet tech explained the use and frequency of the meds and presented me with a bill. The bill was so reasonable, I was surprisingly happy to have found this place as we are new to the area. I highly recommend this place from the perspective I have today, If I go back in, and the waiting room is a mess or I get treated rudely, then I will re submit another review. But I was as happy as possible during this stressful time to have found them. I saw another review that said "run don't walk away..." I am a real person who had not even read any reviews prior to using this facility. I normally read reviews first but I was in a hurry. I am glad I didn't read that review because I may have been biased a bit. I don't work at the facility, I am retired :)

Super friendly staff and caring doctors! The doctor was sensitive to the budget and didn't push for extra tests or meds, which I appreciated!

I have brought numerous pets to Driftwood for several years now and I have seen very competent professionals here. One very sad time I had to euthanize one of my dogs, but vet and assistant took time with me and were very compassionate - the assistant was on the floor during this time and cried right along with me. One pet was having a vestibular attack (looks something like a stroke). Having seen this before, I did not recognize it in this pet. Dr. Gary stated "vestibular" and sent us on our way (no unnecessary tests) as there is nothing to do for vestibular disease - the dog recovers on its own. I have found that they do not do tests that aren't needed and no overbilling.

Excellent in every way! If you need an appointment they will fit you in when needed... not like vets that I have been dealing with for years. Yes the facility is dated and ran down... yes some of the staff is not as friendly as others... yes sometimes you wait over your appointment time.... yes sometimes you feel rushed... but they are always there when you need them! My dog has lung cancer and to know that if I need them within a day is such a piece of mind. Thanks for all that you have done for us Driftwood!

I loved this place when I first started going. Dr Kyle took the time for my dog to warm up to him. I guess that changed the past few times. Rushed in rushed out. Go to set up an appointment for this sat and asked about meds the doc wanted to try to calm him down. Two days later and several "well call back", which no call back happened, I finally got a "we can't help him since he's too grumpy". My dog can be mean. But he needed an appointment; which they set. It's unfortunate because now I have to scramble to find a new vet. They didn't say anything about not wanting him anymore after his teeth got cleaned a few months ago. Just disappointing. He never bit or attacked a member of their staff as far as I know.

Run, do not walk away from this place. They have to be writing their own reviews. Except for a select few attendants, they are horrible. The place smells. You will wait at least an hour with an appointment. They will perform unauthorized procedures. They will argue and speak to you in a condecending way. I feel they pad their bills, and they lie to cover each others mistakes. I thought at least Gary was a man who was interested in what was going on in his office. I was wrong. Worst of all....if they do not really like your pet, you will know it.

Needed a vet asap and found this place online. Called and was able to get my cat in for a check up a few hours later. Upon arrival they offered that I could wait in the exam room while I filled out paperwork so my cat wouldn't be stressed in the waiting room. The staff was extremely pleasant and welcoming. The Dr was amazing. She was so kind and gentle with my cat. Gave me some great suggestions to help my cat with stress when it's time to come to future appointments. For future appointments she offered to let me come in the side door if need be so my cat wouldn't be scared from dogs in the waiting room. Just a real breath of fresh air. Nice to see great customer service still exist. You can tell they really love animals there.
