Horrible service from staff rude and lie about policies when the manager tells them to. I lost a key fob in silver springs drove the vehicle to daytona Beach without realizing it. Road side assistance told me to drop it off at this location and said they'd give me a new one in the morning I get there in the morning and they put me on a do not rent list and where very rude to me just because I had the rental towed there which is what I was told to do. They refused to reimburse me for the days I won't have the vehicle after returning it and refused to give me a new rental and where all around just rude and trying to rush me out of there. I will be contacting the highest management in hertz that I can about this.

Single worst rental experience with a rental car company in recent memory. Had no car in my class for my reservation, charged me EXTRA for an upgrade or wait an hour. Charged me for a road side service that was not requested and said it can’t be reversed after 10 minutes when I noticed the charge. The car they gave me had such severe brake grinding that I brought it back. The car I was given was in rough shape. I instructed my company to no longer use Hertz in general, especially this branch. You’ve been warned.

Arrived on Friday afternoon at 5:30 exactly as scheduled - had a reservation and a gold club member - no car available - should have stuck with Alamo - took a Uber. Hertz gets a zero.

Daytona auto mall body shop had made several mistakes including not matching the paint and drove a window while repairing our vehicle.They made good on that an instead of giving up a loaner vehicle we had to rent a vehicle from Hertz.They held a 50 dollar deposit, an they indicated it will fall of/return to my account with 7 to 10 business days. Well after 14 business days it hasn’t an I contacted my financial institution.They said Hertz validated the charges until Nov 21st.As of today the vehicle has been returned 3 weeks ago.Although the hertz employee’s are very nice an professional and have no idea why it’s still on hold, indicating it should have been released.Unfortunately there accounts payable doesn’t know how to do there job or doesn’t care about releasing deposits.

My wife broke down on I-75 just before Lake City Florida with our boxer. She was towed to nearby Dodge dealership who used Hertz. The person who picked her up saw the dog, never mentioned any problem. My wife had a full back seat cover to make sure no dog hair or scatches happened. The rental person even helped her. When she turned in the car, the next day in Daytona the counter person said, you can go, and I will email you the receipt. When we received it later we were charged $400 extra for cleaning. My wife immediately called and asked for pictures showing the hair they said was there, the lady never sent, and when asked for her supervisor she was told, no one was available!! We always use Enterprise for rentals and suggest you do the same!!!

The people there won’t pick up the phone. And leave you without a car if your flight is delayed. I was there a few minutes late and the people left. Now I don’t have a way to move around at midnight!

Hertz at Daytona international airport is understaffed. I return my vehicle no dirt on the outside , no sand in the inside but they charged me a $400 cleaning fee, making me feel like they are getting extra money because they can just charge you saying it's dirty. 400 bucks really never again Hertz.

Scammed by Hertz for a $400 cleaning fee. We received a car that smelled of smoke and returned it the same way. Neither my son nor I smoke so no smoke stuff from us. The car was clean otherwise. But, now a surprise $400 fee.. and, when we called the airport rental location to contest, no one answers.. AMAZING!!! Go anywhere else but Hertz or their partners.FOLLOW UP: There is a response from "the owner" providing a link to follow up with Hertz. Unfortunately, the link requires an account and password to respond, which I did not have. I did try phoning the airport location again. Again, no answer. I tried a different location for which Eric answered. He was polite, but not able to assist as the rental was not through his location. He did provide an '800' number which I called and finally got to talk to someone. She was again, polite, but unable to assist or refund the overcharge. So, while Armani appeared to be responsive in the note below, there was not a satisfying resolution to the situation. So, if you actually do still elect to rent from Hertz, RENTER BEWARE!!!

-1 stars. Booked a reservation online (thru Lyft actually) only to arrive and have mandatory additional charges forced on me. And the woman at the counter wasn’t even going to tell me, she just matter of factly (and quickly) sped right through them until i asked her to repeat what she’d just said…She seemed annoyed by the question and didn’t appear to be very enthusiastic about being there in general…Never using Hertz again.

Beware renting an electric vehicle from Hertz. Their contract has conflicting information around the percentage of battery you need to return the car with and they will charge you $35 if you return it less than 70% (which is difficult to prevent as electric chargers are not as ubiquitous as gas stations), even though their contract states if 'you return the EV with a charge level of less than 50%, you will be assessed a battery recharge fee of $35.' Their customer service was not helpful and repeatedly ignored addressing this very specific language I pointed out in the contract. I'm surprised they're so willing to lose a customer over this.

I had an awful experience today with Hertz. Especially with their customer service representative on the phone However I'm giving the location a 5 star review because of the customer service was above an beyond at the site. I had trouble getting a rental I had booked and was in tears thinking my family and I would have to cancel our trip. A wonderful woman at the desk, deondra (I know I'm messing up the name) gave me helpful tips and was patient with me while we figured out options. Once everything was resolved She even gave me a hug realizing I was at my wits end. It's the little things that can heal an awful situation and make it that much better.

Very disappointed with the customer service here. I reserved a car for 8:00AM so I could get somewhere at 9:00AM. It is several minutes after and my car is still not ready. Don't rely on this Hertz service to have your car ready on time... they are rather unprofessional, as well. Very disappointing.
