Charged me $56.21 for refueling a vehicle which was returned full. Also charged me $9.99 a day ($49.95 total) for "premium emergency roadside service" which I never asked for or opted in for. Disputed the charge with AMEX with documentation and they are still refusing to budge. Way to treat a President's Circle member. This is why I prefer National.

Literally the worst car rental company I have ever encountered and I've rented many cars, sketchy, shady, incompetent rude, I don't understand how a business can run like this it makes no sense, stay away!

Never again will me and my family use this company for a car rental. We rented a car for a 2.5 day trip and we were staying about 35 minutes away from the airport. When we got about 15 minutes into the drive on the highway the car started shaking excessively. We got off the first exit and called the number they gave us if we needed anything. We explained what was going on with the car and how we were scared to drive it in case we broke down. They wanted us to drive it back to the airport or send us a tow truck and one of us would have to drive alone with the tow truck driver back to the airport and get a new car. Mind you we’re here for only 2.5 days and none of us felt comfortable driving the car nor wasting so much time driving back alone with a tow truck driver and going through the process of getting another car. The people we spoke to were so incredibly rude and said those are the only two options. We were going they could just send us a car so we wouldn’t have to drive it back in case it broke down on the highway. The Hertz employees were so incentive to the inconvenience this would all cause but also for our safety. Do they not inspect/ check the cars before they rent it to people? We were more upset about the way they handled the situation and how unprofessional and rude they were. Very disappointing.

Horrible experience. I rented a car for a few days and upon returning it I was told by Rhonda that the deposit would be credited back to my account at midnight. The website said it would be credited back within 24 hours. After 24 hours it still was not credited back. I called my credit card company and they said that Hertz would not be crediting the deposit back until 6/29 which is 6 days after the return of the vehicle. I asked why and they said it was not due to their credit card company and they said it was Hertz and not them holding the deposit. I had a reservation for this evening with Dollar and planned on using my debit card for the $500.00 deposit since my deposit wasn't returned and Rhonda stated I could not use it due to not having an airline ticket. I tried calling Hertz 800 number to speak with someone and it's impossible to speak with a live person. I had enough and I called Priceline and cancelled the reservation. Worst experience I have ever had with a car rental company. Horrible customer service. I will never ever rent with Hertz or Dollar again. Renters beware of these companies. I wish I would have read this locations reviews before I rented. The reviews for this location are horrible.
I am shocked that anyone at this location still has a job after reading the reviews. Absolutely horrible experience!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Very bad experience from being stranded in GA and the customer service line not willing to help! If it wasn’t for YouTube I would’ve been walking. They tried to make it right with a free rental day but still gave me a hard time when it was time for me to pick up the vehicle . By that I mean, doubling the price and saying I booked wrong! If anything it was retaliation for their error. The Caucasian lady with the 1997 hairstyle was not helpful and her intentions was savage and I’m sure it was because of my race. I would avoid this place by any means and book with another rental company because that’s what I ended up doing. Such a nightmare and yes discrimination too! The lady would not even listen to me she over talked me and was like “she’s been doing this for 17 years” so why wasn’t she able to assist me “properly” with the rental and by NOW should be an expert with customers instead of spiteful and shady. AVOID!!!!

I recently rented a Jeep from Hertz, and my experience was horrendous. The rental process was smooth but the vehicle itself was in horrible condition. Smelled strongly of pot, and had chips in the windshield. I returned the car early because of the smell of pot.
Hertz charged me $400 for a chip in the windshield that was present when I picked up the car. Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures or report the chip at the time, which was a mistake on my part. While I understand the importance of documenting any pre-existing damage, I feel that $400 is an excessive charge for a minor windshield chip. Especially since it was there when I picked up the car.
Overall, this was a horrible experience and I will never rent from them again. They do not care about their customers or their vehicles. Future renters, make sure to thoroughly inspect your vehicle and document any damage before driving off the lot or they will charge you!

I have read all the reviews and saw some negative ones. I can only share from my experience so with that said. When I arrived yesterday 6/13/2024 I was the only one in line the woman at the counter was so nice and helpful took less than 10 minutes. So this was a great experience. We got to our car which was alittle bit of a hike but we were given a Nissan Rogue the outside condition was good the inside and I did take pictures. The back seat is stained pretty badly, the gas tank was not full and the car smelled like weed. Also there’s almost 45,000 miles on the car. I did decide to keep the car so I didn’t have to go through any more non sense for the day after having a long day of traveling. I hold nothing against the lady at the counter because I am sure she never even see’s the interior of the cars or cleans them. But this concludes my review. So five stars on customer service and 3 stars on the interior of the car.

Worst customer service I have EVER received! I am embarrassed to be a Hertz President Circle Member today - which means nothing. I am trying to enjoy this weekend on a rental with my hard earned points. DAB gave me the worst car available (I assume because its a points reservation), the blue tooth or USB audio options DO NOT WORK in the card, and the gas tank was not completely full as recorded on the contract. I tried calling into the corporate office twice; 1st answer did not listen to me, then put me on an endless hold with no noise in the background. 2nd attempt, first agent did not listen to me at all and asked if I was calling in about missing points, asked to speak to a loyalty manager, got the worst representative yet, who said if local couldn't fix, I had to wait until rental is over and call back. When I wanted their supervisor, was put on hold, then told would be over 2 hours! Then I was hung up on. I tried calling the local branch TWICE, only to have it ring and ring and ring, until the system hangs up on you. What a waste of my points, and no reason to ever rent from Hertz again!

Go to any other location nearby (plenty of others) - not the airport.
Considering they are the airport, they never have good selections and you get penalized for it. Rather than an upgrade you will get downgraded (with a fee).
They NEVER answer their phones, and their vehicles arrive dirty with trash inside. They sneak in extra charges into your bills as well - ALWAYS double check - never rush out EVEN if you've wasted hours there and are running late!!!
The reps just don't want to help you, and they give you their manager's business card (and they'll scratch out his phone number - weird! And they tell you to email him (and they will also say he has an accent and talks too fast anyways, so just email) OR call customer service during normal business hours and just have them fix my bill.
There is ONE awesome, super sweet lady who works there - I feel sorry for her! She almost made me want to NOT leave a negative review, but this was the second horrible experience here. I hope that nice lady from MA gets a raise or promotion and upgrades out of that location!

Took my voucher to the desk and was asked to pay an additional $200 after already paying $285. Customer service the directed me to go to a hertz rental place to dispute this and get my money refunded. Tried to online and they wont get back to me for 2-4 business days.
Horrible customer service and possibly a scam

Bad experience, rent a car online, and because I paid with my credit card my husband couldn't drive the car, and I couldn't drive the car because I set his name to be the driver online. Nobody was able to help us at the counter, no one answered the phone at Hertz. We already paid the whole amount.

Do Not Use this branch! I almost exclusively use Hertz and this is the worst branch I have seen in ten years traveling weekly. Upon pickup, the young man told me there were no midsized cars and I could upgrade for a fee. When I told him "No thanks", he told me I would have to wait until a car became available. As I waited, I noticed four other customers waiting for a car. This reeks of bait and switch and upcharging practices. Any other rental car branch would have given me whatever they had available to get me on my way rather than have me stand and wait because they cannot manage their inventory.
Unfortunately, it doesn't end there. I turned the car in before they opened so I filled out their form documenting the date, time, and mileage and put it with the key in their dropbox. Later that day when I got the receipt it was higher than expected. After reviewing the charges, I realized they charged me for several gallons of fuel. I refilled the vehicle less than a mile from the airport and have a photo showing the mileage at turn in as well as the full fuel indication. I attempted to call this branch at least ten times but the phone rings and rings with no answer before it just hangs up on you. Using the automated menu, it says you have to go online and submit a form along with your receipt from buying fuel to get reimbursed the charges. So now the burden is on the customer to prove I filled it up. Either the employee fueled another vehicle and accidentally charged it to my rental or this is a purposeful fraudulent business practice. Looking at other reviews where customers were charged cleaning fees erroneously, I assume it was the latter. Not sure if I will try to get the charges back with their ridiculous process but I can say I won't rent there again!
UPDATE:
After receiving the complaint I made on the Hertz website, the fuel charges were refunded back to my credit card. However, that should never have been required if they had done their job correctly. Going with Avis next time.

Horrible service from staff rude and lie about policies when the manager tells them to. I lost a key fob in silver springs drove the vehicle to daytona Beach without realizing it. Road side assistance told me to drop it off at this location and said they'd give me a new one in the morning I get there in the morning and they put me on a do not rent list and where very rude to me just because I had the rental towed there which is what I was told to do. They refused to reimburse me for the days I won't have the vehicle after returning it and refused to give me a new rental and where all around just rude and trying to rush me out of there. I will be contacting the highest management in hertz that I can about this.
