Bought a car here a few months ago. Happen to be in the area when the check engine light came on. Rolled up to the service center to see if they were able to tell me what the light means. The employee at the service desk basically laughed me out of the door and claimed it would take them several hours to diagnose. He did not offer to schedule an appointment for the following week or attempt to accommodate whatsoever. This is not the first time we have experienced this sort of behavior here. The sales process was also terrible. Goodbye Gunther!

Poor communication. Told me a filter would cost ~$200 to replace and failed to mention the additional $500 for transmission fluid. Didn’t have any of my communication info right so I spent way too much time trying to call and figure out what was going on. And they won’t take accountability for losing a bumper plug. Worst VW experience of my life.

One year ago, they tried to charge me for a $2000 repair i didnt need (replacing all the door locks, turned out to be a broken wire in the trunk, fixed it myself).
Decided to give them another chance. Called 2 days ago to make appointment for an oil change. I arrived 10 minutes early. Waited 1 hour and 10 minutes, my car hadnt moved into service area yet. Got my keys and left, had the oil changed in 10 minutes somewhere else. WHAT IS THE POINT OF MAKING A RESERVATION?

Jason was excellent. Energetic, engaging, knowledgeable and luckily they had three used CRVs on the lot. We no luck at Honda dealerships in St. Aug. or down the road in Daytona, in fact from the minute we engaged with a salesperson at those places, we wished we hadn’t- nothing but wasted time, completing paperwork (why?) and the salesmen were agreed to be the worst we’ve ever encountered at both places!
Anyway, Jason was awesome (I will say it again!), the dealership very comfortable and everyone welcoming, drinks etc, clean, and all in a new building.
Richard in finance knows his stuff and was efficient and able to discuss and explain every detail and option available to purchase the CRV we chose.
We would 100% go back to this dealer, or check out any Gunther dealer. if this is the standard of available stock & service they seek to maintain.

Took my 2016 VW Passat in to the service dept because the ESP light was coming on sporadically. Was told I was having engine failure and needed to replace the engine or trade it in. I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion and it ended up being carbon build up on the intake, a well known issue with this year and model's direct injection system. We had it cleaned, before and after pictures were amazing. Car runs great, gained about 50 hp and no more ESP light. It just took a real mechanic to figure out the issue. Glad I didn't listen to the Gunther VW service department.

I stopped by with some questions regarding a 24 Golf R Lapiz DSG(they didn't have one on the lot) but Colby and Malcolm still took a lot time to discuss the current Golf R market, financing and assisted in answering a lot of my question. Solid team of car guys, would certainly do business with them.
Update: Tried to purchase through Gunther but ended up purchasing 24 DSG Golf R from Osteen in Jax no hassle no mark ups.

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a car from Gunther Volkswagen Daytona Beach, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Our sales representative, Jason B, was incredibly patient and took the time to explain every detail about the car and the purchasing process. He made us feel understood and addressed all our questions with utmost respect, clarity, and professionalism.
Additionally, I want to extend my gratitude to the finance person, Daniel. He were exceptionally helpful and understanding, making the financial aspect of the purchase smooth and stress-free. Their warm and welcoming approach truly made us feel like part of the family.

Great service and walked away with a satisfying deal. Jason was my sales rep and he made sure I was walking away with the best possible car for my needs. He was friendly, not too pushy and overall great to interact with. Not to mention, I wasn’t planning on actually buying when I walked in but couldn’t pass on the great option he showed us.
