They charged me for an interior cleaning fee of $100 because my service animal was in the vehicle with me. This charge is illegal under the Americans with Disabilities Act. There was no damage done to the vehicle, they simply had to vacuum the vehicle as they normally should after each rental. This is discrimination against a disabled person.

these people couldn't find their butts with both hands. I reserved this car a month ago and I have been here 2 hours with no rental in sight. go somewhere else unless you have nothing better to do.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but I feel that Dollar is very deserving of a good review after all of the negative ones I read. I will say, the negative ones almost scared me off from making a reservation with them, but I am so glad I didn’t let that happen. I booked the “Manager’s Special” just two days before our arrival date (for a non-peak, but summer weekend in Daytona). The price was unbeatable and the price quoted per day was all inclusive of the standard fees…versus the competitors who showed the “base price” and added all the fees at checkout. We arrived about 5-10 minutes after we were set to pick up our car (1:30pm on a Saturday) and waited about 5-10 minutes while customer service assisted the customers in front of us. We were assisted by an incredibly nice woman who offered us an electric car first (we have no experience with them, so we declined), so she gave us a Chevy Malibu. The car was very nice, CLEAN, no odors, with very minor paint scuffs on the exterior…nothing you wouldn’t expect from a rental car. The only extra fee we paid was to add my husband to the reservation - at a rate of $13.50/day and he had to be added for the entire duration of the rental. The car drove just fine. We have been incredibly happy with Dollar from start to finish on this deal and will rent from them again AND recommend them to friends/family. I received my final receipt in my email and it matched exactly what I’d expected to pay. Thank you, Dollar!

Price is good and employees are nice BUT we booked in advance and still had to wait a while for the car to be ready. They did not have any other cars available for rent so we had no other options but to wait..if you have plans in advance and don’t want to wait I would recommend leaving one hour at least for the booking process.

Car was not cleaned sticky stuff was on the back seat and back side of passenger seat when we cleaned and washed the car there was this white chalk stuck in the the cracks of the door of getting out and there was something written on the windows could not make out all of it but it was what it was. I have had a problem before, swore I would never use them again... but I gave that well that was then this is now.. should have went with another....Not Happy Customer.....

Lady at counter nice but I reserved a car online months ahead of time, paid for it, told them what time and what kind of car I paid for. Waited hours in Airport for the car. No cancel policy. The enterprise lady had three available to rent asap :(

reserved a vehicle at Dollar located in the Daytona Beach Airport. I arrived to pick up my rental and was informed that I could not use my visa credit card because it was not equipped with a chip. I was not offered any explanation except that Dollar a national car rental establishment could not process a credit card without a chip. She asked if I had another credit card with a chip, I did not at that time. I clearly reviewed the rental policy for credit cards and did not find that listed under methods of payments. The associate did not offer another solution nor contact anyone for assistance. I was simply told no and that was the end. I had to rearrange my plans which was devastating. If I could give less than a 1 star I would have.

Reserved and prepaid for a car, only to be told they have none, and they also have no clue when they expect cars to be returned. They expect people to just sit indefinitely and hope a car shows up. Their excuse is "it's bike week." Routine scheduled special events are not an excuse for incompetence - Daytona has been dealing with tourist influxes for decades. Spend your money elsewhere.

The car had stains on the seats- not what I would expect from a National company. It took nearly 30 minutes at the counter to get our car even after having reserved and opted for what we wanted online well before our arrival. Plus, there was only one person in front of us. Additionally, I specifically told the company representative that I only wanted what I opted for online when I made the reservation. We'll, she added a fee of close to $27 on a 2 day rental for \"Premium Emergency Roadside Assistance\". She did not ask me about adding it. She just put it on there. When it came time to sign there agreement I had no idea that had been added since all I saw was a block on a little screen for my intials/signature. I contacted the company and they refused to refund that fee even after a detailed explanation. I ended up paying over $300 for a 2 day rental on an \"economy\" car that was listed at less than $45/day. This company is EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE and I would stay away. We rented only 6 weeks prior from Alamo in Orlando which was a great experience. A 4 day rental cost less with Alamo than this 2 day rental cost. Do yourself a favor and use Alamo at Daytona. Hertz and Dollar at Daytona appear to be run by the same company. STAY AWAY!!!!

Can't beat the prices at Dollar car rental. The only thing is I constantly get a CRV crossover van. I stated I did not like them as I am only 5'2 I have a hard time seeing over steering wheels and blind spots I find a lot in these CRVs. I thought I rented a Toyota Corolla or something similar but I got an economy car nothing was power no power seats ridiculous I've never seen a seat go up that way will you have to pump a handle I had to go back inside to find out how to raise the seat. A whole lot full of cars and you think they could have found me something or even upgraded me if they had to to keep me happy. I am handicapped and it is very hard for me to climb up into trucks high vehicles. I hope next time I don't run into this problem. Customer service was great.

My experience with Dollar Car Rental (Dollar Rent a Car) at Daytona Beach was absolutely terrible. The lines were incredibly long, they only had one or two staff members, they lied to my face, they indicated false information on my rental documentation and they broke my rental contract. Please do yourself a favor and pay a little bit more to rent somewhere else. I rented twice through them on my trip. The lines were so long that it took 45 minutes to pick my first rental and over 1.5 hours the to pickup my second rental. My second rental wasn't ready when I got to the counter so I waited another 1.5 hrs until I could leave. When I or others complained to the manager, she dismissed our frustration by stating that "I've been here for 4 hours". The manager also lied to my face about staff calling off being the reason, which I knew was untrue because another rental employee at the airport told me they only ever have 1-2 Employees working. My rental car drop off time was never updated to accommodate the 1.5 hours of time that was missing from me waiting at the counter for my vehicle to be ready. The paperwork that was provided indicated a full tank; this was not the case, so I took a photo of the fuel level. I contacted Dollar Car Rental support over the phone and they stated they would document the issue. When I returned the vehicle, the fuel discrepancy was not documented. I told the manager about the issue and offered to show photographic proof but was told it was not needed and they would adjust the paperwork. While waiting at the airport for my flight, I got an email update that indicated that they attempted to charge me for the fuel despite the fact that I made the manager aware and even left the car with 9/10 fuel level. I went back to the counter and the paperwork was updated and the charge was removed. They also put the incorrect mileage on my rental paperwork; I notified them of this and they didn't update the information, despite my request even after showing them photographic proof. I contacted Dollar Car Rental via email and they simply responded that the charges on my account were correct; they failed to address my concerns around the missing rental time, falsified paperwork and poor customer service from their local associates and phone associates. If you want to deal with snide managers, long wait times, erroneous paperwork, poor customer service and support, falsified charges and incompetent support staff, rent from Dollar Car Rental - otherwise, I'd recommend going somewhere else... I know I will Dollar at all costs in the future.

Easy pickup, great prices. I reserved the managers special and ended up with a nice little Mazda SUV with leather interior for the price of a compact car. Super happy with my deal.
