Bought a set of queen sheets yesterday. Went to put them on my bed and they are TWIN sheets. Brought them back this morning and asked if I can exchange them. She said NO, only clothes. Asked if I could get a credit on a real Queen set. She said NO, against company policy. Even though they were mislabeled, it’s my fault for not checking the tag on the sheets. The sad part is I’ve donated a LOT of items to this store. That’s okay there are plenty of other thrift stores to donate to, most will work with you.

So my experience with city thrift was decent at first, about the third time I went in with my young son, a woman that has never really seemed to like me came up to me bc I had a bag of returns, she proceeded to tell me that she “didn’t feel comfortable with me having the bags and could I give them to the front desk, so I did so, but then she started following us around the store, I forgot her name but she’s older, I was even being nice one of the first times I went in and told her she was beautiful. She usually wears her hair in a braid (most of her hair is gray) and most of the time she looks like she doesn’t want to be there. Between the ridiculous pricing here and her bc I’m pretty sure she’s a manager or something like that, I don’t really frequent here anymore. Especially bc after she asked me to put my bag of returns at the desk, the lady at the desk let me know I couldn’t even exchange the stuff that day bc it was “half off day”…..this woman should not be in a management position. Also city thrift is extremely expensive for things that you’ll notice aren’t even name brand, I could occasionally find things that were reasonably priced but for the most part, you can expect to be spending just as much as you would if the items were not used. I hate that thrifting is a trending thing at the moment bc I am positive that’s why they’re prices are so high.

so this store is all about whos the manager at the time! right now; just dont even go!! A LOT of the items have no price...they claim people take them off.... (im sure!!! . its not you guys not doin your job!).! and they refuse to send items to the back and have it priced so they can actually sell somthing....(you have to 'come back', whenever its back on the floor) this also depends on the manager at the time... most everything else is way overpriced to the point of laughable.... heres a couple if examples; suede boots made in Italy but not a designer brand; $90, old durango cowboy boots $70 , some belt buckle in their messy counter; $199.. bags looks like they start at $14.99 and up(cheap fake leather ones) if you find a 'the sak' or 'fossil' prepare to pay $20 or $30 regardless of condition.. and yes like other people commented... in the 'wares' section half of their items are more than retail (dollar tree/ross) a lot of original prices still on.. and a lot of broken things that belong in the dumpster out back!!! also the new re-arrangement with the shoe and (fake designer)bag wall behind the counters is a joke...; get rid of it... put your counters back how they used to be six months ago.. Please City Thrift..; get new management! us regular customers know you can be a great store!! 8/19/2024

Just went there to look at clothes. Tried to go down an aisle where an employee was working in ladies sleeveless shirts. I said excuse me and he replies with I suppose you want to go way down the end. I proceeded to do so and he says see I told you. Told him I would report him to the desk. He then threatened to have me thrown out of the store. I was trying to be nice. He followed to the desk. Very upsetting experience. I have been there many times, but wondering if I will go back. Sorry he hates his job and the customers so much.

So disappointing. Was referred to this store because the Port Orange Goodwill is obscenely crowded and unpleasant these days. Well there are no crowds but also no decent inventory. It's really junky stuff for high prices. 9 dollars for an old paperback book is basically retail. Even higher than Goodwill. Such a shame.

Used to be a lot bigger with more fun items, before they switched to the new building. Sometimes I will find 1-2 nice things.

This was the go-to place BUT.. the increase in prices is udderly insane!!. Yes we all understand inflation but remember this is a thrift store not Macy's department store.
Overall disappointed

The supervisor is terrible, very rude and not kind. I was yelled at for my diaper book bag, I can tell i was being profiled because i saw several others with large bags that she said nothing to. I kindly explained it’s a diaper bag, has my daughters bottle and diapers even explained she can search it before i left. It would be very inconvenient if she had an accident to have to go to the car and back again. This woman should be replaced as a supervisor this was on 6/26/2024

Literally got attacked as soon as my friend and I walked in for having our very small backpacks (which were purses). Saw a few women carrying purses around that were much larger than the bags we had. One lady even had a backpack on and was allowed in the store. Profiling is not ok and I will never stop at this store again. The same employee that yelled at us stared at us the entire time we were trying to shop even after putting our bags in the car. Would not recommend shopping at this store to anyone.

The prices are more expensive than what the items were priced brand new. For example this plant in the photo priced by city thrift at $8, but the original price of $5 from when it was new from five below was still on it… like you might as well just go to five below… They’re also selling shein clothes for double the price they are new. So weird.

It used to be affordable, but now prices are not so much. I also saw this past Thursday a worker pulling all the white tag items that were the 50% off. That's a shame. Donations are FREE !!!!! Why put such high prices on FREE items? Always about the bottom dollar ?
