I would rate this school a 0 if I could. The reasons being first students are not treated fairly or equally. I’ve seen some students be anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours late and allowed to stay while other students have been sent home for being 10 minutes late. I personally was treated unfairly. After Returning from an LOA I was denied multiple times to graduate on my original graduation date and told that “ no is allowed to graduate early “ then Janely Gallego the director turned around and allowed multiple students to graduate a week early from their graduation date and 3 weeks early from their contract date. My first 3 months in intro was amazing Raymond Baker the teacher was very knowledgeable and taught me so much if it wasn’t for him I would have no knowledge of skin care. Jaden Rivera the Theory teacher on clinic side does not teach anything. The theory days consist of watching a video in the morning then being told to do whatever we want for the rest of the day. It’s not 100% her fault 50% being Janely’s fault because she didn’t give her any training she just hired her from retail instead of doing interviews and trying to find a qualified person for the position pure laziness. The other 50% is Jaden’s fault due to you’ve seen how other teachers teach you’ve attended Aveda yourself and you’ve seen how a teacher should be educating us on skin care but instead you don’t put in the effort you just come for a paycheck. I’ve emailed Emma Petrillo the director of operations multiple times with my concerns which she continuously pushed over with no disciplinary action for the staff. I would never recommend anyone attend this location it’s very political and money driven school. They don’t care about their students getting the proper education they only care about getting paid. I would not even call this a school this a business. Please don’t go here save your time and money.

The institute was so clean and the reception so warm. I was so pleased with my facial and was lucky enough to squeeze in a blowout. I felt great leaving the facility.

I’ve never been as mad as I am right now at this place. I had a 1pm appointment today, waited 45 minutes, then sat down and after I told them what I wanted and that I told the girl I had last time told me she would keep the formula she used in my file, they said I’d be there till 7pm. I have never bee there that long for a service and after that I said NOPE and walked out. So pissed right now.

I went to get a haircut today! Pao was awesome! She cut my hair to the perfect length and it was really bouncy and felt amazing! I would definitely come back here! She used the Rosemary and Mint Shampoo and Conditioner, and it felt amazing! I’m really glad I came here! Great job Pao! ?

Compared to other cosmetology schools, the salon experience at this school is the best bar none! The students are very talented, professional and do their best to accommodate us all. You literally forget that you are at a school and that your stylist is actually, a student. A fact that some of the negative reviewers here, need to take into consideration before posting their disparaging remarks.Try going to another cosmetology school to get a full head of highlights and cut, you'd be horrified!!Thank you Aveda Insitute South Florida for your amazing students, staff and services!

Absolutely unreal experience. I drove an hour to the salon, and when I got there to check in, the front desk told me I could not have my daughter around. Nowhere in writing did they say I can’t bring my children. They made that rule since Covid they said. NO salon EVER has told me I can’t have my kids near my side. Horrible service! Horrible first experience! This picture is in the front, BUT nowhere else. The young lady who was supposed to do my hair came out to apologize and was the only professional in the building!

First let me say, everyone there was super nice (except one instructor). I went in for a simple layered bob, and I have curly hair. The young lady cutting my hair was really nice. The first instructor confirmed how to do the cut and to make sure to leave a little extra length because my curl would pull it up when dry and my stylist agreed she knew how to do it. I was faced 1/4 turn from the mirror so I couldn't really watch how she was cutting. The instructor checked back, gave her a pointer and left. When my cut was over the stylist went and came back with another instructor, not the original (she was at lunch) and not friendly at all. He actually seemed bothered and only wanted to tell me about the product being 20% off. That's it. He didn't check the cut, that the sides were even. Nothing. When I looked in the mirror and fluffed my curls, one side was an easy 3/4 of an inch longer than the other. She also cut it about 2 inches too short, so the length was much higher than I had asked for. When I pointed out the different lengths, she said that's how it was supposed to be, and I asked her to please make them even. She literally cut straight across my hair in a blunt chop rather than angling to blend.I wanted to cry when I got home and was able to check it. Nothing is even, it's way too short to have it fixed. I look like a 4 year old got a hold of scissors and cut my hair while I was sleeping. Forget straightening it. I'm so disappointed, Aveda is usually on par. The sad thing is that this stylist was graduating a week after my cut. I had scheduled a color and partial foils but canceled out of fear of making it worse.Hopefully this was just a one off but still, I paid to have my hair look worse than when I went in and have to wait months for it to grow out so it can be fixed.

Some unprofessional and untrained receptionists, we had two different haircuts appointments one at 1:00pm and another at 1:30pm. We arrived at 1:15 , we told her to skip 1:00 pm appointment but she said we can't get the 1:30 service couz we missed 1:00. We got frustrated and walked out.

This place is VERY unprofessional. I made my first appointment they rescheduled it another day without my approval. Then I called again for the second time to change it and they put it in the WRONG NAME. Third time I call I made sure to book and appointment and she told me it was confirmed. Came in early waited 20 mins after coming in 10 minutes early and they told me they never confirmed my appointment when I have proof of both email and message. Very unprofessional. Very unorganized. Do better.

Don't do it. Dont get hair cut or color here. I really thought the student with the highest level of experience would be able to complete my partial balayage and trim under the supervision of her teacher but it was a miserable fail and a waste of time and money. The service was supposed to take about 2.5 hours tops and it took 5. I wanted the bottom layer of my hair balayaged and they insisted to start near the root. She was not able to achieve the blended technique. The instructor went to lunch so was not able to give it the final check. I refused to leave without a redo. So a manager who wasn't even doing hair had to help the student. After several toners my hair came out multiple different colors, and the cut was even worse. She pulled all my hair behind me and just cut straight without tapering the ends. She didn't even pull it to the front to check for symmetry or anything. Save your money. Go to a real salon! The student kept blaming her manager for telling her to do the wrong thing instead of taking responsibility for her actions and asking for help. I wake up every day hating my hair and can't wait to be able to afford to get it fixed else where. I will never go back or recommend this location.

While getting my hair cut by a student there were approx four "educators" instructors walking around to monitor students and the nice lady cutting my hair was really struggeling and only one instructor offered the student assistance. I left with a very poor hair cut after returning home and washing my hair i noticed i had four areas of uneven hair. I felt very uneasy while getting my hair cut as I could feel the uneasy feelings of the lady cutting my hair. Pretty sad when there is plenty of instructors but only one jumped in. I am sure these students pay LOTS of money to get an education from what used to be a sought out company like Aveda, but not any more. I would not reccomend AVEDA at all.
