“Great experience from start to finish, I brought my 15lb Cavachon to the Plantation location for teeth cleaning, able to save $50 instead of house visit. Our dog is a little anxious at vet, groomer, told she was shaking a little at first at HealthySmiles, but able to control well with towel wrap and able to complete teeth cleaning safely. Debrief at the end was excellent, Natalia took her time to show before/after pictures and some pictures during cleaning. She explained plaque/tartar buildup and how to brush teeth at home and prevent buildup in the future. They told me that we can consider calming treats or sedating oral medication in the future visits, but our dog did great. Highly recommended! :)”

“I had to dogs that I need to surrender I had no where to take them to be able to keep them so I had to call around to get them to a shelter I called around no help I call animal aid and right away they said bring them in so I did and they were there with open arms this was the hardest thing I had to do cause I had them for years but they are in a better place now praying that they will get adopted to a family that can take care of the them and love them thanks for animal aid”

“This place absolutely delivered. My Dog DAVID (yes his name is David) a Cane Corso has been getting so much compliments about his perfectly cropped ears! Dr Raspberry’s team taped them week by week and at one point one ear was being stubborn so his vet team taped one of them extra and it absolutely came out perfect and my Dog was selected to be a model for the dog spa at a new property in Downtown Miami. Yes, that’s how thorough Dr Rasberry was with this ear-cropping. They would not stop taping the ears weekly until they were PERFECTLY EVEN.”

I wish I could put into words the the immense gratitude I feel for Doc, Sue and his entire staff. He has SAVED two of my babies. When everyone else was ready to give up on my Japanese Akita due to seizures, Dr. Hardy saw he still had energy to fight and my boy is still here.

For my feline angel, I can’t yet talk about it since he left us about two months ago but the memory of him being cared for by Dr. Hardy, Sue, Katya and the beautiful team brings solace to my heart.

The fact that she sets up her entire exam with your dog by operating on their level - the floor - was such a lightbulb moment. “I went there with a stray I found to see if it was microchipped and they gladly took the time to help me and talk to me as well as answer questions. I failed to get the name of the lady who sits up front, but I really feel she went above and beyond to help and the fact that an animal lover works in an animal hospital is awesome because I've gone to several places in the past where the workers clearly did not care for our little four-legged friends. so I highly recommend this vet office to anyone that needs service of any kind for their fur baby”

“We are so grateful to Dr Newman and his team! I found my dog Jax on the street three years ago and when we brought him to the vet we found out he had a very advanced case of heart worm. Our Jax got the treatment with Dr Newman and he has fully recovered. The office was there with us every step of the way. They love and cared for Jax while he had to stay over for monitoring like he was their own. Since then Jax has lived a happy and healthy life being heart worm free. Unfortunately Jax recently suffered from a seizure unrelated to his heart worm. The office was wonderful they stayed on the phone with me and they made time to immediately see him and luckily his vitals are good. I highly recommend Dr Newman. He has a vast knowledge and he has such a wonderful way with his patients. I have been to other vets and they feel like an assembly line. Here it feels like you are part of the family.”

I absolutely love this vet practice. I'm sad that Dr. Billhartz is no longer with Southport, however the rest of the amazing staff still is! My girl Gracie ABSOLUTELY LOVEEESSSS going to the vet! TRUST ME, her past vet records at another practice in Georgia tells a completely different story. Dr. Marlar is INCREDIBLE and her entire team is INCREDIBLE! I trust Murray with my babies more than I have ever trusted any other vet tech ever. He has an amazing way with the animals. Murray is amazing and so are the other vet techs there, as well. Everyone in that office genuinely cares deeply about the animals and their best wellbeing. The reception team is truly underrated! - even though everyone comments on how sweet and kind they are I don't feel those words describe them good enough - they are hands down the absolute best! They are soooooooo thoughtful, welcoming, helpful, funny and loving toward every animal that walks through their doors! I can't say enough great things about Southport but I feel that the fact that I felt the need to provide 3 reviews/updates should speak volumes. I absolutely recommend this vet practice 100%. I thank them for everything they've done for me and my beloved pets.

100% GREAT experience on 10/05/2022 - Lived in Fort Myers and when hurricane Ian hit and the entire swfl area lost power, all of the vet offices were closed and lost a lot of their medications. My 15yr old guy was needing his Cytopoint shot and Southport Animal Hospital did not hesitate when I called them and explained our circumstance and asked if they could help and give William his shot - they said no problem. We drove 2 hrs, walked in and within 15 mins we were out the door with William receiving his shot. They were so warm and welcoming and empathetic.

Now, fast forward to today - I permanently move to Fort Lauderdale and am in need of a vet for a new dog I adopted and my cat. Guess who I immediately call. You bet, Southport Animal Hospital! And let me tell you, with my new dog, Gracie, she has a history of aggression at her old vet office (her previous family made sure I had all of her records) ....so needless to say, I was so apprehensive about how her vet visit would go. So far, she has been to Southport Animal Hospital twice and saw Dr. Billhartz (LOVE HER!) and Dr. Bufalieri (LOVE HIM!) and both times Gracie walked out of the office confident and happy!!!! She loves loves loves Heather, Liz, and the whole reception team! And she loves Murray and all the techs!! I feel 100% confident that she is going to be taken care of properly with love, kindness and understanding of her fear issues. This office is such a blessing to me and Dr. Billhartz who is chief in command is just kindness and love. And the rest of her team reflect that. Amazing people in this office. Loving, kind and thoughtful people in this office. I'm so grateful for them all.”

“I came here on April 6, 2024 after my pup had gotten stiff/fainted during a cough/hacking episode. After the 2nd occurrence at home I started calling different vets that would be open till late around 5pm, immediately after calling this office they mentioned I should bring my boy Maison in immediately as he's only 10 months old with a stage 6 heart murmur (diagnosed around 3 months old). The office staff I spoke to was so calming and reassuring and I definitely believe that is great testimony to how this office is ran because even the vet was so calming and informative. They told me they would have a room ready for the arrival of me and my pup. The vet diagnosed my pup with excess fluid build up in his lungs and recommended a few treatment options. I have been to many emergency vets, animal hospitals, specialist and regular veterinary clinics. I can say by far the treatment he received here was on of the best, they were quick, informative, kind, compassionate, honest and in my opinion AFFORDABLE. Thank you for caring for Maison!!”

“Not long ago I was sharing about the loss of my friend Quiet Kitty who left behind his twin brother Talking Kitty. (The names were given in the Native American tradition of naming the outward character of the animal when first we meet them) Sadly. this morning, Talking Kitty was gently and kindly given the help to rest in eternity with his sister after having suffered an injury in the AM. My grateful thanks to my neighbor Julie and her wonderful Vet at Arbor Pet Hospital in Wilton Manors for their assistance and graciousness in seeing to a peaceful and dignified goodbye to a devoted friend. At my meeting this morning, one of the readings was about The Prayer of St Francis of Assisi and the power of LOVE. St Francis is the Patron Saint of Animals and I often remember his example of love and care for all of God's wondrous creatures. My roommate and I have gained far more examples of unqualified affection (love) from our now gone brother and sister cats then we could ever have imagined. “I brought my dog Maxx to see Dr John, he gave him a full examination. Maxx couldn't jump up on the couch where he liked to look out the window.. Dr John prescribed an antiinflammatory medication.. which worked very well. Maxx was his old self within two weeks. I can't say enough about Sunrise Animal Hospital.. the Doctor really cares about his patients and treats them with loving care, he's personable, professional and knowledgeable.. the staff is friendly and helpful.. I highly recommend taking your pet there... I will never go anywhere else.. a fantastic experience”
