We came into Daystar to donate for hurricane relief and seen what the need was....and how Daystar operated as far as Donations...I was beyond impressed of the operation and how the director ran it.... that's when my husband & I became volunteers....its been nothing but a blessing to this community...I believe that if Daystar was not available to Citrus County...We as a whole... would have been in a worse position....Thank You Daystar and Director Annemarie & all volunteers for what you have done & continue to do!

Went to the day star life center thrift store about 3 month ago . I noticed that the shed in the back that has the bag of clothes for $5.00 went up to $7.00. I commented that someone must be making lots of money from this increase. I walked away.
Today I we decided to go and shop in the store instead of the shed of fill a bag for $7.00. While in the store, the big bald manager told us we were banned from the store for voicing my opinion. As we were trying to leave, the very hefty female manager entrapped us in our vehicle and would not let us leave, after we were asked to. The sheriff was called and we were trespassed for freedom of speech.

Wow!! After losing everything we had, my wife and I stopped by here looking to replace furniture. A very nice lady Jean helped us today. We now only need dressers and a bed. She was very helpful, caring and very nice. We saved a lot of time by stopping here. Thank you!!

I can not begin to tell anyone what an amazing group of people here. We lost everything in Hurricane Helene and were nervous about getting our animals out I went to 5 different stores for a cat carrier. By the time I stopped to get some relief supplies they went on a mission to help me. I was so overwhelmed I cried they hugged me and also showed me true compassion! Everyone there is an angel sent by God! We will be going back and making donations once we are back on our feet! What a blessing to our community ♥️

The volunteers that run this charity, decided that I was no longer worthy of their assistance, after sharing genuine concerns I had, not just for my own family's well being and health, but that of all those who they claim to be helping. The moment I expressed concern of potentially coming across an issue with lice or bedbugs among the visibly dirty clothing, the woman in charge became angry and defensive and revoked my right for help. I wont even explain how the last time I left here with BDSM nipple clamps because these volunteers and staff are too oblivious to what they're doing. We as a needy community are not welcome to any of the clothes thy offer inside their store anymore, we are only given their leftovers, undesirables like blood donor shirts and summer camps someone else went to, and/or full of stains and holes and fabric knots, all that which they cannot sell to profit off of, continuing to perpetuate how the people they claim to help, will be perceived as still needy or dirty, by others. The woman in charge tried to claim everything was laundered, as I stared at clothes on racks with animal hair on them, before then becoming aggressive with me as if I was not being a good mother because I do not have easy access to a laundry machine or five bucks to spend every time I need to use a washing machine at the laundromat. I understand however that the Pope needs his golden throne and all his gold toys, and that this is a business in reality and not a charity, because if it were, those they were claiming to help, would also be worthy and good enough for the clothes that were good enough to sell. If it were a charity, me sharing my concerns with this woman, after she welcomed my opinions (because they can't know how to help if we don't speak up as she said herself), simply sharing my concerns shouldn't have gotten me banned. God and this Universe work in some mysterious ways though, and I know he wants me out of the lack mentality that had me going to them for help the last couple years, and if that means I need to be His mouthpiece, then so be it. Two plagues upon your houses, He would say. I hope not for their sake, but be aware that these people are a business, not a charity, and if you speak up about any concerns or have any kind of constructive criticism, then you won't be welcome back.

This thrift store is an absolute gem! Every time I stop by, I’m blown away by the amazing deals and unique finds. But what really sets this place apart is the incredibly kind and helpful staff. They always greet you with a smile and are happy to assist with anything you need. The store is well-organized, and it’s clear they take pride in offering great quality items at unbeatable prices. Whether you're looking for clothes, home goods, or something special, you’ll leave here feeling like you hit the jackpot. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves thrift shopping and a friendly atmosphere!

Ann Marie who greats us in our time of need is so mean it seems like she hates helping the community and people in general. WHY do you need to be so miserable?

Very sad that I had to stop going to my Very favorite thift store which I had been going there weekly for the past 10 year's but with new management and the overly priced broken or torn items that is mostly given free of charge. I just can't see myself returning! But the main reason that I stop going was do to the rude way I was treated and volunteers were told not to talk to meThat was unprofessional plan and simple........I understand that under new circumstances things change and prices may go up but does the change need to be taken in a way to the point customers are taken their business elsewhere?.
