My grouper was dried out and leathery and when I asked the waitress for a like refund or something to see if we could do that only on the fish she caught an attitude and stormed off shaking her head in the end she give me a $7 discount for a $30 bad piece of fish they just lost my business I'm disappointed in the service

The outside says dive, but the inside is bright and the food was outstanding. We had baked oysters on the half shell 3 ways - Cajun, Rockefeller, and shrimp and grits. All were delicious. Oysters were plump and cooked just enough, preparations were tasty and creative. We were driving through mid-afternoon and will make sure to stop when we’re back this way.Dietary restrictions: They were very accommodating to my gluten-free needs.

We were told about the Mermaid's Seafood and Oyster restaurant. By a relative of ours. The food was awesome, and the service was very good as well. We went there on a week day. It wasn't crowded at all if you visited during the day between 1:00 and 2:00 pm. And the price wasn't bad at all, if you are coming from Tallahassee. We will diffently be visiting again real soon.Parking: Cottondale Florida, hwy 231

Mermaids has great fresh seafood! It's sort of hidden but worth finding as the food and pricing are perfect. We stop here everyone we go to 30A area in FL as a special treat.100% will continue the tradition. GREAT SEAFOOD AT A GREAT PRICE!

Our waitress was a bit off, but she was the only one in at lunch time, so overall she did a great job.Food was freshly made and delicious. The cook even came out to make sure we where completely satisfied with our food.A nice little reprieve, don't let the outside fool ya, it's definitely worth going in!

We stopped on our way toNashville and it was the perfect place for lunch! It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s cute inside. I had fried shrimp and a side of Mac n’ cheese. It was delish! Shrimp were HUGE. Hubby had an oyster p’boy. That was gone in a matter of minutes. Seemed like it was all homemade, down the the sauces. We’ll remember it when we travel this way again for sure.Wheelchair accessibility: There was a guy in there in a wheelchair, so I’m pretty sure it’s accessible.

This cute little restaurant may be small but it's big on tasty food. Built in a remodeled gas station and convenience store, its cozy atmosphere is decorated in whimsical mermaid/ocean theme. I had the strawberry margarita, oysters, and seafood gumbo. The oysters were fresh and delightful. But the gumbo was the real star with lots of shrimp, rice, and sausage. The broth was just thick enough to hold all the delicious ingredients together and had very little spicy heat so you could season to taste. The margaritas were only meh and very light on the alcohol. I'm a lightweight and could neither taste nor feel any tequila. Pricing was a little high. $10 each for the barely-there Margatitas and another $10 for the gumbo.

Wife loved her Angus burger, best she's had. I got the 2 piece seafood, oyster and fried grouper. Oysters were a tad on the salty side but cooked awesome ? .
