Hidden fees raising rent every couple of months. Do yourself a favor and find another storage facility.

The experience is completely different for everybody whereas with the property managers I did not have the best experience but to each its own

I am a retired Marine and relocated to the Winter Garden, FL area in JULY 2023 as we have two daughters and three grandchildren who live nearby. We needed self storage and considered Florida Self Storage in the 34787.
Jeremy was professional and accommodating as he walk us through the rental agreement.
Later we went to visit other family in AZ and CA and were contacted by the Claremont police department who informed me that my enclosed cargo trailer was broken into along with 8 other units. We can’t stop all thieves as most all security (chains, locks, and doors) can all be breached. However, this installation does have security cameras so they were able to provide the video to the police. Hopefully ? they catch the culprits. They cut the chains and used a grinder to cut through my locked handle.
Fortunately, my daughter and her husband were able to step up and assist with the police report, insurance, and repair.
Jeremy also assisted me with transferring to a different spot on the facility. Thanks again Jeremy!
For the folks that have negative reviews, which you a certainly entitled to, I recommend being kind and considerate to others and reading the contracts you sign so you will have better life experiences.

RACIAL NAME CALLING. My in laws came to this storage unit after a very long drive from Missouri. Upon walking in, no one said anything to them as the employees just kept eating their food. They were parked in a place that was supposedly “a fire hazard” and were yelled at to move. When my in laws asked where to move the vehicle, the manager got angry with them and as they were trying to ask questions the manager kept getting angrier with them and pretty much annoyed that they were even bothering him on his “lunch break”. Then he called my father in law who is Mexican a “little chihuahua”. I really hope someone is reading these reviews because this guy is obviously not in the right position according to other reviews and needs to be handled with. Who works in customer service with this kind of attitude? Supposedly his name is Jeremy but who knows if he gave them his real name. Do not rent from this place, support places that treat you with respect.

The employee that lives onsite has a horrible and a very unprofessional attitude. I brought my 8 month old baby in this location with me to handle a situation and the second he made a sound he looked at me with an attitude and said “ can we not have a baby in here” that not only blew my mind, but made me irate! The fact that the gate lets you in at 8:57 pm, but locks at 9 wether you’re inside or not is a bit absurd. That means you’re allowed in before 9 but not allowed out after 9. Hmmm.. I’d consider that kidnapping. There isn’t a single sign posted on-site to notify anyone that the gate locks on both sides at 9pm. You have to search the website to find this info out. I WOULD NOT SUGGEST doing business here!

We have rented various storage from Florida Discount Self Storage for over ten years; we have been renting covered storage for the last five years for our RV. The onsite manager is very rude and unreasonable if you have to address a problem to him; we found other storage not too far away with much better facilities and a better price. I would not recommend them due to problems with the onsite manager.
