RENT ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Shameful behavior and rude people. Charged us $75 for an exchange/gas fee for a car that wouldnt start and was a hazard to drive. Im sure they will find any reason to charge you money!
Detailed story: Our car wouldnt start and had all dashboard lights on and blinking red(Problem common with Kia) We waited a few minutes to try again and the engine light was still on and the car wouldnt drive normally. We had no choice but to exchange the vehicle. The guy knew the story and then literally told us we needed to leave to fill it up with gas when the car is a hazard to drive!! Then charged us $75 for an exchange/gas fee and gave us a new car on empty.

Total scam place, rent somewhere else. The office looks abandoned and although they do returns at 3 they’re out of the office at 3 and don’t get the return until the next day, so they’ll charge a full extra day just because they’re lazy. Terrible

We were greeted immediately by Cameron. Got our car right away with no issues, he even gave us some great travel advise! You were correct about our destination but we made it out alive! Lol

Didn’t have the car that were reserved. Wouldn’t give us another car once again drove for 45 minutes only to find out that there are unhelpful and won’t honor reservations that are made! No problem no got a car from Avis for less money. Brand new Tesla I recommend going to Avis or anywhere else besides Hertz, Dollar Rent-A-Car and thrifty! If you have a reservation at your location, have the common courtesy to call the person and let them know you don’t have the car available. Everybody has cell phone now guys. It’s not that hard y’all can do it.

The rental office looks abandoned from the outside. I booked online and went to pickup a car but nobody was in the office, they would not pickup their phone, and when you call the manager, you can only leave a message that they will not respond to. Really odd experience and a total waste of time

Hertz is the BEST COMPANY I HAVE WORKED WITH EVERY. I HAVE BOUGHT 2 CARS FROM THE CLEARWATER DEALERSHIP AND THEY TREATED ME LIKE A QUEEN.
THERE IS A NEWS PAPER CALLED "THE WING" TALKING BAD ABOUT HERTZ. I KNEW I needed to say something. The paper posted a trouble in 2021 but has been handled. There was no need to post it. Looks like a mean spirited act from The Wing, no other reason. Love ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Hertz

False advertisement! Did not say on the website had to book 24 hr notice with debit card payment. Ubered from hotel and was stranded after they denied giving us a car. Even spoke to employee on the phone and he said we could book a car. Clerk told customer we should ask another the policy that we did not know about. Horrible service! GM Kyle said he didn’t know why the policy isn’t on the website and there was nothing he could do!

Booked a car and had confirmationWent to pick up and while the guy has cars they did not have one that was in the class we had booked even though we booked directly from their website.So given they don’t have proper management of their own inventory - the resolution is to tell the customer we can give you another car for $40/day more instead of saying we messed up and let us get you the best car feasible for the price you booked.My husband is a Hertz president circle gold plus member and honestly loyalty program member or not should not matter but even though he is a member / there was no attempt to remediateWhen asked what is our options the attend saidYou can either upgrade or I can cancel your reservationTravelers beware of the bait and switch and the fact that you may plan based on a confirmation email and not have a car when you get there or plan to pay $40+/ day extraWe went with enterprise - they even came and picked us upI wish we could give negative starsUpdate - even after someone responded below, no one has called to ask what really happened and learn how to improve in future.So someone responding to these comments should be considered useless and just patronizing …

Bait and switch alert - booked a car online 2hrs prior to pick up time - to me this would mean they know what their inventory within 2hrs. I got a confirmation email.Took an Uber to go to the pickup center and their representative said they don’t have a car in that class and have one available for $40/day more.No apologies, no trying to do anything else to remediate - just take it or leave it.And then he cancelled my reservation!So don’t trust online inventory, rates and good luck when you get there - as you may or may not get a vehicleConfirmation emails or numbers are just evidence that you attempted to book something not confirmation that you booked it ?

Overcharged my vehicle and can’t get in touch with any representative. Stay away from Hertz especially at the Clearwater Beach rental.

This is a 5-star rating for Cameron, a Hertz Clearwater representative who always goes above & beyond with my rental needs!I’ve always had good service here but, Cameron really takes the service to the next level.Recently, the car I rented wasn’t available on the day of pick up (the other driver was stuck in bad traffic, which I understand. It happens.) So, Cameron ensured the next available car in that same class, was spotless & ready to go once we arrived!I also ask A LOT of questions, to make sure there are never any surprises. He answers all of them professionally & shows nothing but good customer service. So, Cameron, thank you!

Taking reservations when they have no cars, can’t pay by debit card the same day because that’s the policy, how about to have the policy that you don’t take reservations when you have no cars.
