100% recommend this peaceful, sanctuary experience. Come by yourself, with a friend or with the kids. Every animal has a story. Some are playful, some are naughty, some are curious, some are introverts. You will, for sure, connect with many of the residents and leave with lots of memories.

I visited the animal sanctuary for the annual thanksgiving vegan potluck, so I did not get the tour experience but explored the space on my own time. In about 1 hour, I saw all the animals--cows, horses, donkeys, lots of goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, and the "manager," an orange cat that I am forgetting the name of. I was able to feed the animals hay and even pet some of the friendlier animals. The animals were all very comfortable around people, and you can see they all have their own personalities. It was a heartwarming, interactive, and surprisingly therapeutic experience. Definitely family friendly. The place was easy to find with a clear sign at the turn, and after a short drive on a small paved path, you arrive and there is a large lawn for parking. Although there is a small "well" and portapotties, there isn't really a good way to wash your hands, so bring hand sanitizer. Feeding the animals can also get messy, so wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting hay on.

Had a great time touring the farm and learning about the animals they've rescued. Highlights include: petting a chicken, meeting the pigs names for The Office characters, and petting goats. ???????

Kindred Spirits offers engaging and informative tours that help you see the soul of their non-human residents. Tour guides are themselves involved in day to day opperations and sincerely care for these animals. They are ready to answer every question you have, and take time doing so. You'll meet cows, chickens, turkeys, goats, and more. The property itself is beautiful, and the animals live in excellent condition. There's also a gift shop with great shirts with original, creative designs. Proceeds go to the sanctuary. There's no cost for the tour, which makes it even easier to spend money in the gift shop to support their efforts. They'll also recommend a nearby dinner, Ocala's Downtown Diner, which offers an outstanding assortment of delicious vegan diner options.
