“We have lived at the Oaks since it opened and have LOVED it!! It is a fun and safe community with a lot of daily activities. The front office team of Eugene, Lloyda and Claudia are always friendly and accommodating. They are happy to help. They not only listen to what you are saying, they actually hear you as well. The maintenance team of Darius, Rod and Ray are equally as fantastic. They respond to every request quickly and with a smile. The Oaks on the Lake has a true TEAM. They work together to make this is home to proud of!”

“Great place to live. My only complaint is that the stoves could definitely use an upgrade. I hadn’t used or seen coiled stovetops in 20 years haha!! Property managers and employees at the office are warm, friendly and always willing to help with a smile on their faces!! Maintenance team is excellent!! Jose and Norberto are amazing maintenance workers. They are kind and efficient. They will go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied! They deserve a raise!”

“I would like to share with all of you my move in experience at the Halston World Gateway. Nancy Almonte- Assistant Property Manager- went in details about the pre-inspection process. The pre-inspection process is an important step to avoid any issues at the time to move out. I do not have words to show my appreciation to Nancy Almonte for the type of excellent customer service I received from her. I have been in management position all my life and I know when an employee represents an organization very highly as Nancy Almonte. She is truly an asset for the Halston World Gateway organization.”

“My boyfriend and I have had a positive experience living at Cane Island. The office staff was always helpful and happy to answer any questions or concerns we had. The maintenance staff was outstanding and was very quick to help us with any repairs. The only reason I’m not rating five stars is for four reasons: the valet trash service, the noise of the surrounding location, parking availability, and the size of the gym. The valet trash service is convenient, but inconsistent at times. There’s been instances when our trash has abided by their rules, but hasn’t been taken. The noise in the surrounding area is constant, sirens, helicopters, and road noise. If you have small children or prefer to live in a quieter area just be wary of the location as it is directly on US 192. As for parking, if you have more than one vehicle make sure you buy another parking pass in addition to the one they provide. I believe it’s an additional $75 ( the price could have changed since I last asked) for any additional passes. If you don’t have a resident pass they make you park in guest parking otherwise you get towed. The guest parking is somewhat far away from some buildings and fills up quickly. Also, if you’re into fitness and like to use the amenities in your complex, the gym is very small and gets easily crowded. These are relatively small concerns and some are out of the complex’s control. Overall, I think the service Cane Island provides outweighs these small concerns. We’ve enjoyed living here for the past two years and would recommend this complex to others looking to move to this area.”

“Hello, if you are thinking of moving to these apartments, I recommend it 100%. Honestly, it is a very good area, especially if you have children. They have the Sunshine Elementary school a five-minute walk away. Also, the pool area is very nice, it is always very well maintained and When something breaks in your apartment, they repair it very quickly. Everyone in the office and maintenance is very friendly. I love that place.”

“Culinary program participant! I was incredibly lucky to get a 4 by 2 in the Iago building, all girl roommates as requested. My roommates were phenomenal, we always kept the dorms clean and respected each others space and got along so well. Although I have heard many horror stories of bad roommates, and yes it’s true, it’s almost impossible to relocate to a different dorm during your program REGARDLESS of the issue. I recommend completing the accommodation request before your program begins for the type of room you want, along with your roommate preference. 2x2s are so tiny and if you have dirty roommates it’s going to make that limited space much harder to live in. The gym is amazing, pool is great never overcrowded. If you have the option to bring your car bring it, I’ve heard the buses are terrible and bringing your car gives you so much freedom. Going to the parks for free & the discount on merch is a great benefit. Culinary program was fun, I worked Festivals at EPCOT, some days in the kiosks around the world with no AC, some days in the prep kitchen with no space to work because of the amount of people prepping. You are able to request a transfer if you want to try a different location. My second location was yacht & beach club catering, enjoyed that so much more. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and we were able to listen to music during our shift, talk and have fun. The chefs here were way nicer too. Great work environment.”

“Too many cockroaches, you make a complaint and they do nothing, the administration people are unkind, one day they blocked my phone because I asked them to repeat a number.... bad administration, thousands of cockroaches, just a couple of super nice maintenance men. Noisy neighbors and they have broken car windows... ahhh and many cockroaches, no matter how much you clean, they never leave in case I hadn't mentioned it.”

“We just moved in yesterday. The team was very nice, but they are very understaffed and we experienced some challenges in getting keys, and our unit is not completely ready for us to move in, despite the unit having been posted as available for the beginning of the month move in and we didn’t arrive until the last day of the month. Overall, however, we feel as though this is a great value for the price and the staff has committed to fixing the items that need repair on Monday, and hopefully we get the remaining keys soon! Looking forward to making this our new home.”
