Did not stay at the hotel, went to the Neptune Lounge and for a cocktail and then to the restaurant for dinner. This was a great little cocktail lounge with an interesting atmosphere. Loved it!! Amazing history…..read about. The restaurant is the best food and atmosphere in the city. The seafood was absolutely and amazingly delicious and spectacular. This is the place to go at least once during your stay in Cedar Key!!!!!

Not a very friendly place. Twice we've been here and both times were not treated very well. Won't go here again.

We are in the bar. Fish expertly cooked. Cocktails not impressive. We're there supposed to be rolls? Maybe only in dining room. Neat atmosphere.

The rooms are so charmingly steeped in antiquity. The beds are very comfortable. I love the balcony. The restaurant serves the most delectable cuisine. Great ambience and Great service. It is always a pleasurable dining experience!

This review is about the restaurant because we did not stay at the hotel. The restaurant was absolutely wonderful. I had one of the best gluten-free pasta dishes of my life. The Calypso trio was to die for. I couldn't believe the clams and the flavor of the sauce. Something I will tell people about for a long time. My wife had the red snapper special and it was also incredible. Didn't taste fishy at all... Golden beats on the side with roasted potatoes made that fish dish. One of the best we've had. The service was terrific. Not only did Shannon do a great job helping us but I will. Another server stopped by and chatted for a moment. She was so kind. What was funny about her stopping was that we saw her at another place down the way where we had breakfast! I guess this was her second job. Either way, she's wonderful too. We didn't realize how fun this place was until we went to the restroom where I saw a whole group of people enjoying live music. Didn't even know that was happening until I got up and went around the corner. Also the lobby of the hotel where you enter had lots of interesting things to look at and purchase. I felt like I had stepped out of time for a moment into a place that understood what fine dining meant and what good music was. So fun. I can't wait to come back and hopefully we will be able to get a room and stay here sometime. Thanks for a great evening! Cheers!Food & drinks: Awesome menu with lots of good things for people who have dietary issues. Things were marked on the menu as gluten-free if they were and the side items were wonderful. Highly recommend this for people who have dietary issues and restrictions. You'll have to make it work but we were able to do so... Can't wait to come back.

Old Florida feel and charm. Staff at the inn are friendly and helpful. Recommend dinning in the bar as the atmosphere is fun and the food is great. Cedar key and this inn are a great weekend destination.

The hotel is an interesting stop for anyone interested in the history of Cedar Key and a great spot to have dinner too. We walked into the hotel and looked at the dining room. It looked just a bit stuffy to us. Then we discovered Neptune's Lounge and it looked like the people eating and drinking in there were having a lot more fun. So we had dinner at the bar with the large mural of King Neptune, called Neptune's Lounge. We enjoyed every minute of our time there and the food too. The woman tending bar was busy at the time, but kept up with our needs in the process. We tried the Calypso Pasta dinners, shrimp pasta and chicken pasta. Both were great. We met the owner too, which was nice that he stopped in to greet visitors like us. The best part was hearing all the stories around us, from the bartender, locals and visitors like us. The best one was how the mural of Neptune got its bullet holes. There are so many stories about this hotel, we want to come back just to hear more. This was a great evening in a very friendly kind of place.Walkability: Leave the car where it is already parked. The entire town is walkable from wherever else in town you start.Food & drinks: Best to pick the lounge over the dining room for meals and drinks.

The first time my dad had been here to eat, it was amazing. He had a ribeye and added the grouper, it was expensive but very good, so good in fact he was excited to bring the entire family. We came back as a family and ordered some crab bisque. 17 dollars for a bowl, it is a thick cream base and it is excellent.my mom ordered the fish special which was pecan crusted fish of choice (red snapper) and it tasted different, had a sweet flavor but slightly pungent after taste. She didn’t finish even half of it.I ordered the scallop seafood entree and for 35 dollars I expect good scallops. I got 10 nickel sized scallops. If you order these only get them cooked in BUTTER or they’ll be swimming in flavorless olive oil. For 35 dollars I expected big juicy flavorful scallops. I also expected some honey glazed or just scrumptious baby carrots as a side but instead the chef just shaved some carrots on my plate and called that a side.My point is, if you are going to value yourself as 5 stars and have the persona of being a 5 star dinning experience, you should be one. It’s just slightly confusing. The waitress was amazing and she hustled around the entire dinning room.

We had dinner there on Saturday. There was live entertainment scheduled at 6:30 by Jim and Marci and all tables were reserved. We were there at 5:15, so we were seated by Grace and allowed to eat before the 6:30 reservation arrived. We ordered Ahi Tuna salad, and it was cooked to perfection. As it turned out, a couple could not make it that night, so we moved to their seats and stayed a few hours for Jim and Marci. What a wonderful experience. Grace is an amazing waitress, and we enjoyed her immensely.Food & drinks: Excellent food

Food is good and the service is friendly and attentive, but the dining room needs to be updated. It has a 70s vibe.

Had a wonderful night stay in this 1859 hotel and restaurant in adorable quaint Cedar Key. We love old and funky, and this was perfect. The price was reasonable, the room has no TV but we didn't care. Antique dresser, antique bed, firm mattress, high ceilings, vintage bathroom but water is great! Wonderful breakfast served to order and the waitress and front desk ladies were so sweet!
