First time ever having fishing rods repaired. They answered all my questions and were very honest. They didn't try to up sell me anything. I was going to have them put new line on a reel that had line on it. She told me the line on it was perfectly fine and there was no need to replace it. Most other places would have just re-spooled the reel to make some extra $. Their honesty will keep me as a lifetime customer.

Great experience with Kel's. My Minn Kota iPilot tolling motor quit working on me, so I took it in to them. It just so happened to be the last day my warranty was good, so I was afraid of out of pocket expenses. They were extremely backed up with many other motors, so they said it would be about a month. I was okay with that. They called me twice to keep me updated about parts they were waiting for and then right at about a month, they called to tell me it was ready and everything was covered under warranty. I picked it up and it's good to go. Thanks so much Kel's!!

The only place I take my reels to be repaired or tuned up. And the only place that repairs mybrods as well. I have been using them for years. Professional, courteous, dependable, & reasonably priced. If you value your fishing gear & need it repaired & want it done right, take it to Kel's Rod & Reel Services.

Brought in three reels to be serviced here for routine maintenance. A Penn Fathom (which they did a good job, although nothing was wrong prior to it so I'm assuming they did open it up and clean and lubricate.) And 2 Accurate Boss Fury 60w. There was nothing wrong with either of these reels prior to bringing them in. Because they didn't have the line test I needed I had that applied at Bitters down the road. (so I didn't notice the drag issues there. Once I started fishing with my Accurates several months later in the spring, the drag was way out of whack. If I adjust it so I can pull the lever back to free spool when I rotate the bar forward to strike there's maybe 5lbs of drag on it. So I adjust the side (so i have some drag)then it wont free spool when I pull the lever back. Horrible Job I should have just sent them in to Accurate. If you need a cheaper reel worked on id recommend them but anything you've sunk some money into spend a few extra bucks and have professionals do it. Wasted money and have lost several large fishing dealing with this mess. I also spoke to some fishing buddies of mine whom have had similar experiences.

I was going to bring my reels to Kels but their backlog was 6 weeks. Went online and found Steve's Rod and Reel in Winter Garden. He works out of his garage and doesn't have a business license to do so. He told me to service and lube the 4 reels would be $40 each when I dropped them off. A week later he texted me and said his estimate was "$225 more or less". I asked him why the extra $65. I asked him if the reels needed parts replaced and he had not even looked at them at that point but was trying to scam me. I had even offered to give him the 5 rods I dropped off with broken guides because it was cheaper to buy new ones. I guess my generosity didn't impact his willingness to try and screw me over. I told him not to service them and I went and picked up the rods and reels. I will wait the 6 weeks in the future to have my reels serviced at Kel's versus driving an hour each way to have them serviced by a guy running a scam.

Another great service experience with Kels Rod & Reel Services. Terry, Doug and Debbie all assisted me with my last project and I’m very satisfied. In the disposable environment of today it’s very refreshing to find professionals who can and will breathe new life into my older fishing equipment. Thank you!

What a waste of my time. They wouldn't take in my trolling motor, they said they would call me when they were ready to take it in.Thats a pretty bad way to do business in my opinion. Took my trolling motor elsewhere and its already fixed and Kels still hasnt called me back yet. Its been 2 and a half months.

Very happy with the service I received! When I dropped my reel off in early September they were very upfront with the lead time due to the influx of service requests due to the pandemic. Every time I rung my call was answered and an update on the status of my reel was provided. Thank you!

Very disappointed with trolling motor service. Call several times for updates and after 5 months my trolling was returned without any solution ( they said the head of motor is broken),when it was just a cable to replace in very well previous working minn kota equipment cost me 1200 with few hours of use. No recommend at all.
