My trip to Captiva was spectacular!! The restaurants, the hotel staff, the shops were great. This trip was almost perfect!! The only negative was Kay's salon! We decided to get our nails done. We found the closest salon and my daughter called to see if they took walk-ins. We left about 6 or 7 mins after her call any the drive took about the same. So within 15 minutes, we were knocking on the door wondering why it was locked as they also told my daughter they close at 7pm and it was not even 4. I could see people walking around in the salon but keeping their eyes averted looked to be their Olympic sport. So I call the number on the door.... After about 1000 rings, it seemed, someone answered. I explained what happened and asked what happened. She said, "we were slow so we closed". There were 3 of them in the store and 3 of us at the door! I decided to give them a second chance. I went at 2pm on a Friday and this time was excited to fine a man at the front desk so I thought I was going to get my toes done this time. I waited for him to finish his conversation with someone on the phone. He was explaining to the caller that he/she was charged on the credit card for canceling an appointment within the preceding 24 hours. Hmmmm, I thought. When it was my turn I stepped up abl door told the man I needed a pedicure. He clicks his keyboard and says how is tomorrow at.... I interrupted him and said that I leave tomorrow. The salon had no customers so I know they weren't busy. He then tells me, "well if you had been here 30 minutes ago, I could have done it but my boss left and I'm alone". Needless to say, I was a bit disgusted. I wonder if I will get paid for driving to the salon twice DURING THEIR BUSINESS HOURS only to be told we were slow so we closed. I think it's more like "we were lazy and didn't want to work"...

Went in for an expensive manicure. It was ok and enjoyable. Unfortunately, I am almost certain one of their employees compromised my card. So be cautious and vigilant if giving any personal information here.

Miss Nancy was so welcoming and made me feel so comfortable! It was my first time for some of the services and she made sure I knew exactly what was going on and always made sure I was ok! Beyond 5 star review! Will definitely return!

My daughter and I had great facials and massages at this spa. Robert did one of the best facials I’ve ever had. Will definitely go back on our next trip to Captiva.

I am staying at the South Seas Resort. I forgot to get a haircut before I came down. I looked around for the closest haircut available and it was on Captiva with Kay Sanderson.. Everything went fine and the haircut was terrific but when I asked the barber the price she had no idea,.seemed strange. So I went to the front desk and she told me the price for a man’s haircut was $55! This is more than twice I’ve ever paid.The front desk clerk asked me As I was looking shocked, “sir, did you check our pricing?” I said no I didn’t think of a haircut as something for which I needed to do comparative price shopping. I was wrong. Anyway it totally spoiled the experience.

Booked a massage a few days before arriving for my vacation. Showed up a few minutes early as instructed to complete paperwork. Greeted nicely by staff. Massage started 15 minutes into my scheduled time spot and ended after only 32 minutes of actual massage. During the massage, I had to repeatedly ask the therapist to apply more pressure as the pressure she was using was more consistent with a Swedish massage, not the deep tissue massage that I had booked. I was also asked if I wanted essential oils, but had clearly written on my intake paperwork (that I had arrived early to complete) that I was sensitive to them. Finally, there was construction happening on the other side of the wall of the massage therapy room we were in...with hammering and use of power drills...that was not conducive to a relaxing experience. When I asked about this, the therapist reported that the noise started that morning and said that someone from the spa was supposed to call me to see if I wanted to reschedule my appointment due to the inconvenience. When I asked about the construction noise at check out and why I had not been told about it ahead of time, the receptionist just blankly stared at me and stated that the construction had been occurring for the past three days. Unprofessional. A big waste of money. And a big waste of time. I would actually give zero stars, but Google will not allow someone to post a review without clicking one star.

I generally always write good reviews, or don't write anything at all, but I had to make an exception for this business. Booked a massage a few days before arriving for my vacation. Rosa did a beautiful job on my hair. It can be nerve-racking seeing a hairdresser you don't know but I was on vacation and ready for a change so I went for it. At least 6 inches gone and a few highlights added, I would return to Captiva just for Rosa to do my hair again (;

If you want to get a manicure and pedicure here........DON'T! Overpriced and not good. View was great but that's all. The woman were very friendly but it ended there. I had gel on but only wanted a regular manicure. She didn't take the gel off completely so my manicure had bumps all over. My appointment was in the afternoon and at night it was still soft. I was never offered anything to drink until after my man/pedi. My friend had the same and then was given a water in a regular glass and in the age of COVID that should have been a disposable plastic cup! The chairs for pedicures weren't massage chairs and for that price they should have been. When the tech filed my toes she kept hitting my skin and causing little nicks! It was like this was her first job out of school! I understand that you have to start somewhere but to get any inexperienced tech at these prices is not right! Go somewhere else!

Pretty expensive for a basic manicure (not gel) and was disappointed. There's no nail dryer fan, just oil drops to speed up the drying process....morning appointment but still woke up the next day with sheet marks. Women who work there are super nice, but not happy enough with my manicure to go back.

Yesterday my manicure was excellent. Perfect. Hard to come up with a review score, as yesterday would have been a 4 or 5 star- great manicure - although high cost. However two days ago the worst gel manicure ever - was done by someone else in the same location. ( polish was uneven, rubbing off, filing dust under polish, polish did not go to end of nails- etc etc extremely sloppy) When it was being done I questioned the procedures, even though I am not an expert- only someone who has nails done regularly at other salons. Nice girl but not either trying enough or experienced. Not enough acetone used so existing polish needed to be forced off with painful pushing. Not enough nail prep and cleaning dust after filing, little or no cuticle work- that is why the polish peeled, I just read. Once I called yesterday, (the next morning ) , the manager arranged a new manicure at no added cost- however the whole experience between the original cost of gel manicure and two tips was over $80. Also, so much time wasted having nails done twice. That is the part I hate most. Wasted time. And, really-the high cost- for the inconvenience and aggravation. Only reliable experienced staff should be doing manicures! The place is clean, everyone is nice. But you are better off having a wait -or not having availability- rather than taking money and time for very sub par services. I live in Captiva, so an opportunity for a long term customer was lost.

Do not go here and waste your money! I wished I had read the reviews before I went to this place. Went in for a shellac manicure that cost $59 and it was the worst shellac job I have ever received but the most expensive. The techs hands were shaking the entire time and on multiple occasions I had to redirect her about applying the nail polish (she wasn't going all the way to the edge). Additionally, she never did my manicure just filed my nails down. Didn't do cuticles or soak my hands in water. When I asked her to shorten my nails she used a cuticle cutter because she couldn't find clippers. If I could rate this place a 0 stars I would. I highly recommend that you don't go here for services.

One of the best massages i ever had by christine. Women's locker room is not handicapped accessible, locker room very small. Small bench to sit to change clothes. Bath robes already in locker. If you want larger, you need to reach on top of lockers to get larger size. Long staircase to get to locker rooms.
