I had an emergency with my dog, it was a Saturday and they were already closed. Veterinarian McKelvie was an angel for us that day and did not hesitate to assist us and help us.

The vet was to afraid of my dog to do a full exam. Constantly in the room and out. I was there for 2 hrs. I do not think I will be back. If you are afraid of big dogs then you shouldn't see them.

My dog is a Ridgeback, 3 years old. I went yesterday cause he was bleeding the tip of his ears. When got there and inside a room one of the staff came to talk to me about what he had. I explained and she tried to take some ears test with a big qtips. Of course, he probably had an ears infection and didn’t want anybody to touch his ears. She tried and he kept moving so another staff with more experience came. In 2 seconds she was able to do it. They closed the door and my dog started to bark since he doesn’t know who might come, and he is in pain and discomfort. I tried to leave the door open so he can see but another staff told me to keep it close for the noise. He got more anxious, so they gave me a muzzle . I put it and then they took him to do a cleaning and check his ears better. The lady who told me to keep the door closed came to explain they need to sedated him in order to keep him calm since he was aggressive and could bit anyone. I explained he is friendly and he is in pain obviously he is no happy. She said I need to train him. Short story, I paid $600 for an ear infection or a sedating process. When I went to take him they told me to neuter him or train him in order to come back. WHAT KIND OF VET tells you something like this? They don’t have empathy for animals, they don’t know about the breed, they prescribed him anxiety pills, instead of something for the infection. You know what! I told her that anxiety pill even for human are harmful, cause aggression! So no! I’m not going to give him that, or neuter him just because they do t know how to deal with a big dog in pain. I’m not coming back! I will find a good VET that care for animals and know what they are doing. This place is perfect for little dogs. My dog is very friendly, I can even walk him without the chain and he stays next to me, anyone rings my door and obviously he bark, I open the door and he smells and depend on my reaction, that of course if I open is because I know who is coming he let them in. Unacceptable telling me if my dog is train or not and they are the ones who need more train to understand that even a kid with and ear infection are in discomfort and stressed. Come on!

My name is Robert. Last year my pet Igor visited his vet that I respected and trusted but after taking his annual shots, Igor developed some mysterious illness.
After, so many blood work tests along with catscans, medicine, he was not improving and Igor was getting worse by the day. I HEARD from a friend of Viscaya-Prado and oped to try...Igor was doomed to die and I was desperate.
All I have to say is Thank you Viscaya-Prado for having the patience and dedication you demonstrated and for saving my Igor from this terrible still unknown illness.
I am please do say that after a year's long battle Igor is bouncing back.
Sincerely Robert & Rita Rabitt.
