My husband and I went there for a vacation with his family. Upon arriving at the hotel, we got our keys only because my in laws got them for us due to it being “after hours” for their office due to a delayed flight. We went to our room and the physical door was barred. Upon attempt to enter, the guy in the room came to the door mumbling excuses and basically ran away to his truck. We were aware at that point it wasn’t a double booking situation and something more sinister was going on. The night manager picked up after many calls and came in. She said we had no proof someone was in our room (despite them having cameras) and the manager on the phone said the same thing. Our whole party of probably 6 rooms checked out and went to a safer hotel nearby. The manager called my mother in law the next morning and said they wouldn’t fight the fraud charges if we promised to not bash his hotel online IN A RECORDED VOICEMAIL. Well despite them putting that forward as proof, the credit card company sided with them and forced them to pay for the whole stay despite us not staying the whole time due to safety concerns. This place is unclean, not safe, and fraudulent. Do not stay here.Safety: This hotel is not safe. They give out extra keys to rooms they think will be vacant to people.Noteworthy details: This hotel is unsafe.

We had 2 rooms here for our wedding day. The king suite was for the girls and it is a little outdated but it had everything you needed. It was great for us to sleep and get ready! The queen room was for the groom and groomsmen to get ready. It was a bit too small. I recommend 2 king suites for wedding party. The back was beautiful for photos and right on the water. It was 4 minutes from our wedding venue at La Venezia Ballroom. All together, we enjoyed our stay and had plenty of space for the most part. I would stay here again and recommend to everyone! Great price!

After several days of packing and 2 days left to complete my move, the roofers finally showed up to replace the roof Ian destroyed 11 months ago! Needless to say, the noise was impossible to sleep through! Running on minimal sleep that entire week had caught up with me and I was desperate for rest. The office wasn't even open yet at the Hideaway so I called the number on the door. I was too tired to drive, dozing off in the parking lot when the management company returned my call. He personally came to check me in, even though he didn't know the computer system log in, and it was 7 HOURS earlier than any other hotel would have allowed a guest to check in!! WHAT A WONDERFUL CHANGE TO HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH SUCH COMPASSION AND UNDERSTANDING! I CANNOT GIVE THIS PLACE ENOUGH STARS!

The room wasn't bad, but the central air is out so there is plywood on the windows with window AC.Even though it is labeled non-smoking and no smoking outside on the balcony, It is definitely full of smoke of all sorts. It is sketchy, which is sad. As it would be a nice place. The receptionist is very nice and reasonable, but I think she deals with a lot of sketchiness. Not a place I would recommend for kids.

The problem we had was the obvious and scary druggie guys who were hanging around, my fil and my kids didn't feel safe, my fil had to pack up his stuff everytime he left bc he was afraid it would get stolen, the locks weren't very good. The air conditioner was so loud it would wake you up when it turned on. This used to be our go-to place but next time he will go for another safer hotel.Rooms: Rooms were nice but the locks were not efficient and the air conditioner was crazy loudSafety: We did not feel safe

Beware! This is a super sketchy, outdated motel. The police arrived and were banging on the door next to ours, shouting for someone to come out. The police were there multiple times that day and when I asked them if it was safe to stay there with my son, they said there have been a lot of regular issues with the clientele there. We did not feel safe and checked out 2 hours after checking in. The woman working the front desk refused to give me a refund and later gave me a bad airbnb review out of retaliation.

Read some prior reviews saying the service was not that good here. We found the extreme opposite! The staff were always helpful and friendly and approachable! The place was clean! Loved how in the evening there was a cart available to take people to local restaurants/pubs!!!Although it's more off the beaten path... I felt it was in a good location for going to sightsee places by car. The golf cart made it feel this way as well! But, what I loved about the place is that you felt away from any hustle and bustle! You could relax by the clean pool where the water temperature was perfect!

Great place for an overnight stay! Bed is a little small and worn for a bigger person; feet was on the edge of the bed. AC worked great, tv with cable was nice and out back is beautiful. Very nice host and showed me to my room which was very nice.

The location can't be beat. The canal view is amazing. Close enough to walk to several restaurants. We only booked 2 weeks out, so our room was pretty small. That being said, it had everything we needed and the staff were very friendly. Although we didn't have time to use the pool, it looked very nice.

Quiet cute motel, small rooms but what more do you need when you don't spend alot of time in the hotel room on a vacation! The hotel staff were great, rooms were , pet friendly, and a nice location and the canal and decks on the back of the motel were perfect way to end a night if you see too old for club night life but too young to be in bed at 6?. Definitely going to visit again. Over all great hotel!

This place truly is a “hidden gem”. We stayed for two nights and I wish we could have stayed longer! The place was clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and we loved the hotel grounds. I has all the “Old Florida” charm at an unbeatable price!

The positives are that the staff is friendly and happy to help! The staff truly made my stay enjoyable. The prices are affordable and it's a huge plus that they are dog friendly. The canal view is wonderful and a great place to relax and read a book. However, the staff decided to hang a TV on the most beautiful aspect of this resort and it obstructs the view and is a terrible eye sore. Bad idea to hang a TV out on the back canal space!! Who is going to watch TV anyway? The rooms are clean! The location is great and super convenient for most places on Cape Coral! If you are a smoker, this is the place for you! I don't smoke so the constant smoking on the patio was horrible. I smelled anything from cigar, cigs and marijuana smoke while I stayed here.During my stay, I did hear chain saws for 4 days while they were doing landscape work to palm trees and that was annoying. The walls are very thin so I heard everything from the next door neighbor. The fire alarms are so sensitive that I could not use the toaster in my room. My dog was traumatized by the constant fire alarms going off whenever a guest decided to cook anything.

The good: nicely renovated rooms, great outdoor spaces, a couple of nice (weekday) employees doing their best to make things right. The bad: might as well call it “smokers paradise”, almost every room had smokers sitting on the front porch. Had to walk by it, wafts into your rooms, etc. Very loud neighbors first 2 nights, I think they may have been related to the owner (?), people from neighborhood joining the party, lots of drinking and yelling right outside my door, people in the next door condo development even complained. Very little hot water, I asked for water heater to be turned up, but still couldn’t quite get 2 back to back showers done. Bathroom sink drain clogged but nice front desk person fixed it. Sheets and towels seemed clean but were very old and worn.If the price were more reasonable I would’ve overlooked all of those negatives (well maybe not the screaming party next door) but at a base price of $165/night (plus tax) you should really get better than this.

I'll start with the good stuff:The staff is professional, the beds are comfortable, it is dog friendly, it is affordable, and the back deck is pretty and relaxing. The not so good:(Note: I tried to discuss this feedback with the motel via email before leaving a review, but never received a response)Within five minutes of walking in we discovered the coffee table was broken - the top was not attached to the pedestal and it fell off exposing screws and splintered wood. We told the staff immediately but it took two days for someone to remove it.Around 7:30 on our second night our smoke detector started chirping. There was no staff on site, we called a number posted on the office door and did reach someone, but they couldn't/wouldn't do anything so we removed the battery so we could sleep. At 4am the second smoke detector started chirping every three minutes. We stacked up some furniture to stand on to take it down but the whole experience was miserable. I understand smoke detectors can be finicky but I in my experience testing them and changing the batteries regularly can prevent the chirping.Other things that were broken around the room:--The doorknob receiver on the bathroom door wasn't attached--The hair dryer didn't work (but someone did replace it while we were there!)--A kitchen light flickered off and on--One window in the bedroom wouldn't open, but the other one did--The door to the room had a metal strip across the bottom that screeched loudly against the floor every time the door was open
