I was there less than 10min. The place is very small and not the best-looking hertz but I had great costumer service.

This location is closed as of January 2025; however, Hertz is still taking reservations for this location but isn’t transferring the reservation to any other local location. Will never use Hertz again.

State Farm arranged for me to rent a vehicle through this location. Initially, I was not informed that a piece of plastic in the middle console was missing. As a result, when I placed my house keys in the console while on a bike ride, they fell into the abyss, necessitating the disassembly and reassembly of the entire middle console to retrieve them.
Furthermore, the location unexpectedly closed permanently some time in January without any prior notification regarding it's status so I would actually know it had to be returned in Fort Myers & not Cape. When I attempted to return the vehicle the day it was due back after work, I found the building locked, accompanied by a paper sign on the door instructing me to call another location. This situation required me to drive the car nearly an hour through heavy traffic to return the vehicle to a different location, which was now overdue since that location would closed for the day before I could arrive. Their district manager assured me that my rental would be closed that same day, as it would have been if I returned the vehicle at the original Cape Coral location. Upon driving all the way to South Fort Myers, I successfully returned the car that day; however, I have since been charged twice by Hertz within the last 48 hours which over drafted my bank account. The rep at the Fowler location today promised to return the funds but the damage is done. Stay away from Hertz.

Hertz update your app! This location has been closed for weeks now and you’re still able to book for drop off. No decency to call or email customers of this. There is a piece of paper taped to the door when you get there asking you to drop your car off at a location that was 40 minutes away with traffic. No thanks, not going to provide free labor for a major inconvenience that wasn’t my fault. I picked this location for drop off because I was not going back through fort Myers - wouldn’t have booked through Hertz had I known it was closed.
I dropped my car off at the location and put the keys in the drop box, called hertz and emailed the closed store manager that the rental was completed. I was then charged $290 for “roadside assistance” for not dropping my car off at their preferred location. Never heard of anything like this happening before but this is gross mismanage my of the business. I expect a full refund but getting in touch with someone in customer service is a challenge. Book with another car rental company if you have the choice.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Hertz FAILED to mention to my friend that this Cape Coral- S Del Prado location is permanently closed. We had to drive to the Fowler location to drop off the ice cube KIA soul and took pictures as proof that my friend did in fact return the car because if she were to leave it at Cape Coral, they would charge her for abandoning the rental- we don't trust anything Hertz says to her anymore, since they never communicated that the Cape Coral location was shut down. I never used Hertz and never will, this experience sealed the deal.

Don't rent here!! They charged extra Insurance and roadside assistance, even though it was already included in the voucher. There was no word about the extra charge and no signature. Customers beware, save your money and go somewhere else...!!!

Reserved a car over Christmas and when I got there they told me the car was not ready yet and they would call me in a couple hours. So we checked out of our Airbnb and a couple hours they called me and told me that they had no car for me. So we were stuck in Cape Coral needing to get to Orlando with no vehicle. They said they woild keep me on the list and I still haven't heard back. Horrible company to deal with..

I had ordered a pickup truck for a week. When I got to the counter I was told the car was not available and no other car was available that day. So I had to change my entire plans and cancel on friends. 3 days later I was still charged for the car!
Be careful and keep your eyes open...there are other, better car rentals ;-))

I made a reservation for picking up a rental at around 8am, once I arrived for pick up the next day, they told me they didn’t have me on schedule or a vehicle readily available even though I was physically there in the office the day before and talked with the associate at the counter of my arrival the next morning. I decided to go with Turo instead and they actually didn’t waste my time

Horrible service. Tried to pick up a car yesterday around 12 and they called and said they had no cars until the late afternoon. I then tried to reschedule for the next day at 9:30. I arrived to the location and found out they had no cars. They did not offer to try and help or anything. I was told I just had to wait and they didn’t know when they would get another vehicle in… won’t be using hertz again. This is why I am almost always use Enterprise.

This was the second time I have rented a car from hertz in cape coral. Again the experience was good. Friendly and no hassle experience. Would highly recommend herz car rental in cape coral, Florida.
