My dog recently went blind over a few days. Even though they could not diagnose the issue because they referred me to a neurologist, they were very friendly and informative. When your fur baby is going through something, it is truly appreciated when someone care enough to explain and help as much as they can.

Dr. Seyer and the staff at the Animal Eye Guys in Fort Myers are amazing! When visiting on vacation my 15 year old dog developed a severe eye issue. The Animal Eye Guys got us in the same day, provided us with an extensive care care plan to help us save her eye (it was a 50% chance that she may need her eye removed due to the severity of the infection and inflammation), and a follow up appointment two days later to check her progress. I highly recommend this practice for all of your pets eye care needs.

Absolute experts in anything to do with the eyes. They are the best of the best. If you have any issues with your pet’s eyes – this is the place to go. We are so fortunate to have been recommended by our vet to take our dog Beau Duke here. If we had gone anywhere else – I know he would have lost his eye. Our dog had a scratched cornea with a vicious bacterial infection that was melting his corneal – time was of the essence (eye loss within 24-48 hrs.) and if we had taken him anywhere else – due to the nature of this situation he would have lost the eye. We saw Dr. Seyer and she was AMAZING in every way. Everything you could hope for in a Doctor and more. She is so knowledgeable, compassionate and just a great person and Doctor. She saved Beau’s eye – and really gave us wise counsel on how to treat this. She had a strong protocol for us to follow and we were fortunate to corner the bacteria/infection – and to save his eye. No rupture, no surgery in his case and he has some vision restored in this eye – it’s still going through a healing process because of the depth of the injury but he’s “healed!!” And he has his eye! It’s been quite a journey but we are externally grateful to Dr. Seyer and her wonderful team (especially Lauren and everyone else at the Animal Eye Guys!) So a heartfelt Thank you to Dr. Seyer! We love you guys and highly recommend to anyone with a pet with any eye issues. This is the place to go.

They are awesome. Drove 1 1/2 hrs to get to them, well worth it, they for sure saved my dogs eye, my vet was sure she was going to lose it.

First, this is for the office in Fort Myers, as the one in Cape Coral is closed and there is no listing for the Fort Myers office. This was my first visit as it was a consultation for my dog's eye problem. My appointment was for 9am, I was the first client and the first to be put into an examination room.OFFICE: I am assuming this is a new location, the reception area has boxes and papers everywhere. Waiting area was clean, I was only in there a couple minutes. It's not a new building, that's for sure but I am assuming they may still be making repairs from the hurricane. Completely understand.EXAMINATION: I was brought in with my dog, the tech explained she would be doing some general tests first. She explained the purpose of the tests and also explained that the results were normal. She then told me that she would be taking my dog to see the doctor so she could examine her eyes with a microscope. This is where I got concerned.I will fully explain that I am one of those protective dog moms! I want the best for my fur babies and also want to know what is going on. I did not know these people and it was just a personal preference to be present during exams. NOTE: I know my regular vet and periodically he may take my dog in back for something, again we have been with him for 7 years, there's a history there. Now, this is not my first encounter with animal ophthalmologist, I have dealt with 2 others for previous dogs. So I am very familiar with the eye exams, previous doctors did the same exams in front of me. The machine they use to look into their eyes goes over their head. My issue, there was one of those machines hanging right there on the wall. I expressed my concern about her taking my dog to someone I hadn't met yet to do whatever! She said that's their policy. I agreed and she took my dog.She returned a couple minutes later with her and said the doctor would be in shortly.Doctor arrived, she was extremely nice, polite, she gave me an in-depth explanation of what she found and answered all my questions. I was very pleased with her level of knowledge and her willingness to answer all my questions and give me some options.I want to be clear here, I have NO concerns or issues with the doctor at all. So why only 3 stars?Well, when they brought my dog back and I waited a few minutes for the doctor. Until now, I had been holding her in my lap, she's only 10 pounds. She wanted to get down, so I put her on the floor. She started sniffing around, very normal. But then she started licking the floor, a lot. I called her to me and picked her up. That's when I saw it, there were blood spots all over the floor! I was shocked, I was the first client of the day! So how long has that been there, certainly more than a few hours! So I then went to put her on the exam table again, they had a rug on it. To be honest, I didn't realize that it was a rug, my fault. She immediately started sniffing the rug, a lot! She didn't smell the rug earlier because her head was being held for the tests. When they were done, they took her in back. So I smelled the rug, I won't say there were any fowl smells. But it certainly smelled like dog. So again I picked her up and kept her in my lap the remainder of the visit. Cleanliness is obviously not a priority here, I have never seen any vet office that kept rugs on exam tables. That can certainly transmit diseases from other animals. Then the blood on the floor did it for me! If this is what clients see then what does the rest of the place look like! Unfortunately due to these 2 concerns, I will not be returning to this facility. In my opinion, these places are as important as hospitals and should kept clean.I have included 2 pics of 2 blood spots, one spot is faded, that's the one my dog licked. There is also a pic of the carpet on the exam table. I also took a video of ALL the blood spots but I can't get that to load on this app.I did show all this to my vet, he expressed surprise and apologized because he was the one that referred me to see the

I saw a difference the first day with my dog's dry eye. I am a Tech and attended college for a degree in It so I know what I am seeing. Amazing work Dr. Seyer! The office staff are top notch as well. I was very impressed. Too bad they are not my regular Vet. I am looking for one now.

The service inside the office was great, he had his surgery. I was called with the results. As I pulled into the clinic for his follow up appointment I got a all, missed it but saw it was the eye doctor. I called back. Was told I didn't have an appointment. There was another dog named Buddy who canceled. That was the only issue.

If your animal needs any eye care do not hesitate to go Animal Eye Guys! Dr Seyer, Courtney and the entire staff are wonderful! My golden had a small eyelid mass removed and the care was compassionate, cost efficient and seamless. Dr Seyer was kind and gave me options that worked with my budget and goals. The entire staff showed so much love for my dog, I really appreciate that! Highly recommend!!!

The vet here was very thorough and straightforward. She was patient and answered any and all questions I had. I appreciated that she didn't sugar coat anything and gave direct answers. I would highly recommend if your dog ever has any eye issues. I wish she was my regular vet!!
