UPDATE
Not even the owners take an interest in responding to concerns. So they will now have a BBB record thanks to Dan and the unprofessional staff. Don’t take your animals there if you really want what is the best thing for them
Dear Dr. Scroggins,
On August 28th we had the heartbreaking experience of putting down our beloved cat at West Bay Animal Hospital. The care we received was not only unprofessional but also deeply lacking in compassion. We were promised a keepsake of Kitty’s fur to help our other pets cope with the loss, but this was never provided. What made the situation worse was the treatment we received from your office manager, Dan. His dismissive, condescending attitude showed a complete lack of empathy. He refused to offer any resolution or even acknowledge our concerns, which is highly unprofessional and unacceptable for a veterinary practice. It is shocking that someone in a position of leadership would act so callously during such an emotional time for us. Dan’s handling of this matter reflects poorly on your entire business and has deeply damaged the trust we had in West Bay Animal Hospital.
We are requesting a full refund for this service, and we expect accountability for Dan’s actions. This experience has not only left us disappointed but has let down the
community of pet owners who expect better care from a trusted clinic. We await your prompt response. This is a blatant disregard for human dignity and lacks any humility. Your owner.Dr. Mary should be ashamed of yourselves. I hope one review like this sits on your conscience at night and tarnishes your beloved reputation. We want all of our mone back now

The clinic took us and my dog same day that I called which is a plus point. The clinic was clean and a lot of parking outside. The waiting place was quite small and sitting bench was uncomfortable and squeaky. The vet assistant was nice, friendly, and accommodating. Vet was okay but seemed to be in a hurry. I wished we were provided with printed copy of the specific instructions for medicine administration and one-on-one discussion inside the room regarding the vet’s thorough evaluation, treatment plan, and for us to be able to ask questions and voice concerns. Still, I am grateful because they were able to treat my dog.

Gave a 4 because they don't use chewie so i cant get my prescribed cat food through it. Have to drive aaaaaaallll the way to bradenton to get my cats food. Why its a 4 instead a 3 is because they give great service. They care about the animals which i can confidently say not all vets do. They are polite to me and my cat. Definitely worth the drive. I live in sarasota so its s 30 minute drive minimum. Theyre expensive though. If you care about price a lot dont come here. They will suck you dry and this time you wont enjoy it. The vet is great. At least the one i got. Theres 3 of them. I dont know about the others or if they even exist. They could be a myth.....

Terrible! After waiting weeks for an appointment, I walked in to find a tiny waiting room where you are stuck in close contact with other dogs and people. They have open exam rooms, but won’t put you in until your appointment time and the wait is long. They seem to be annoyed if you are slightly early for your appointment and they tell you exactly what time your appointment was scheduled for and that you are early indicating that you will be waiting until that time regardless. I don’t like how they take my dog away from me for a weight, I don’t understand why they don’t have a scale in the front like most clinics. The wait to check out is extremely long as well and I was stuck in the same small waiting area until someone came up with a piece of paper and allowed the grouchy older receptionist was able to finally check me out. The hospital seems extremely outdated, paper records and all! They will not allow you to use outside pharmacies unless you actually come in to pick up a paper written prescription! This is 2024, you can’t email? With a Veterinarian on ever corner, I would stay away from this one.

Great veterinarians. They care about your animal. The staff is very friendly. It's refreshing to know that there are still veterinarians out there that care about your animal.

Every time I've gone, the staff have been kind and very friendly with my boys. For anyone wondering, yes they handle exotics like fancy rats!
