Why bother having a color of the week as they pull all the clothes with that color tag. After doing away with the discount program as well as the pensioner day discount they have become the perfect example of corporate greed.

Don’t waste your time. Lots of junk in here and the store stinks. Many home items were broken and chipped. Saw a pull out couch for sale with a sign on it that said “Do not open. Broken.” so that tells you all you need to know about how discerning they are about the donations they take in.

My friend, Isaac Macdowell, passed away unexpectedly this week. Isaac worked at the @goodwillgulfstream Boynton Beach, so needless to say, we saw A LOT of each other. Before I knew him, I would love to watch him interact with the customers, always smiling and giving compliments to people. ALWAYS saying have a blessed day ? If you were ever feeling down, just cross paths with Isaac, and he'll have you feeling happier and more confident with just a few words. We became friendly, and then, friends. Isaac was with me every step of the way leading up to the opening of @soflo_finds . Isaac had many disadvantages, he had a stroke years before which left him with one side very weak, so he struggled to walk. He was illiterate, so I would imagine that made much difficult for him. He lived in a rooming house that he was desperate to get out of. He would say to me that he just needed to get out of there, the people were very bad people. Drugs, violence, they would mess with him. But he was ALWAYS smiling and grateful and felt blessed! He was such a deep kind soul. We connected. He would tell me he would feel my presence before he would see me. He was such a light in my life. I'd always come home with stories about my Isaac.
He took the bus from west palm to delray on his day off to visit me at the store a few times. The first time he got off far away and walked! The Sweetest. He would just beam at me I have never felt someone's presence so much after they passed. When they told me what happened at Goodwill, I could hear him and feel him holding me, saying, "oh no, Baby Girl, oh no, no, don't cry" and him smiling and hugging me. I know he will always be with me, he was my guardian angel when he was alive, and I would think about that often. Isaac was otherworldly. The Way he grew up in the south, the things he's seen, are something I've only seen in movies, and he lived the horrors of growing up black in the south, yet he was the gentlest...
When he would visit the store, he would INSIST that I read this plaque that I had hanging of a portion of Steve Jobs Stanford commencement speech. He said he loved hearing me read it. And he would make me read it a few times in a row and he would ask that I would read it slowly.
"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
I wish he could've gotten to see the expansion of the shop, I can see his face and absolutely feel his pride ?✨️? he would also always say to me, "Baby Girl, you gotta take it slow, take it slow, big things are going to happen, wait and see, but go slow, there's no rush. ?✨️?
Isaac really enjoyed seeing The Color Purple musical recently at the movies. He couldn't stop saying how much it moved him. I'm going to have to check it out.

The clothing selection was great, ordered by size and color. But why was there a guy clipping his nails while sitting on the furniture for sale!? Florida! That’s why!

Went to this store today to drop off donations. I rang the doorbell in the rear of the store where you drop off donations and no one answered. I walked around to the front of the store and asked the male employee if he would open the rear door so I can drop off my donations. He replied “ I’m on my cigarette break so just leave the stuff outside by the door. Well it was raining and I decided not to do that because my items would be ruined from the rain. This was some of the worst customer relations I have ever witnessed, and decided they did not deserve my donation.

I bought a painting for my friend here and they used a price tag to cover up damage. This is unbelievable

Goodwill makes it so easy to drop off a donation. I just drive up into the bay sort my items into appropriate bins and I'm even offered a receipt. It couldn't be easier to donate housewares, clothing, tchotchkes and stuff that somebody else can use.

I went in to look for some shoes to donate to the homeless and was disgusted in the condition of this place. So unbelievably dirty. The standards of what is being sold have dropped significantly in the past few years. Literally zero standards. These shoes should have NEVER been accepted as a donation. Absolutely disgusting!!!!! These kind of items should be thrown out not resold. Such low standards. I’d love to know who the genius is that thought reselling these was a good idea. Gross.

I just don’t know where they have found those people to work at that store they are so freaking rude and they will yield at their customers they don’t know anything about customer service for me personally if they want to keep that store open they should hire better workers not those 2 people that I just seen today. Will never visit this place again.

This is the first time I've come in here and seen the shelves, racks (except clothing), and floor space very empty and sparse, not sure why....

The store smelled bad like dampness and mold. The items were dirty. I wouldn't buy anything from here.

Been going there for over 7 yrs, in the past 5 yrs it has steadily declined to the garbage dump it is today. Takes the 2 pricers 2hrs to process 1 cart of merchandise, I have walked around many times for 4hr or more hours only to see 1 or 2 carts come out, many days, I'm not that lucky. Currently standing here waiting for more glasses and tuperware to come out, that as good as it gets... Where do all the donations go? You know the ones people donate to "their" community. Not here, that's for sure. Keep that in mind when donating, at least faithfar and good friend thrift puts out their donated merchandise, here it goes in trucks never to be seen again.

Anti American or I'm I crazy?. Read till the end, please let me know if I'm wrong!. Tell me if you don't agree. I can not say any good things any more, I used to love this place, hardcore love. It no longer is even passable, prices are high, quality of goods is very poor and contrary to advertisement playing every 10 mins, "1000's of item do not come out daily", just come in and look at the mostly empty shelves. Pricers over price everything and the lowest quality merchandise comes out every few hours at a time, one cart at a time, like how long does it take 3 people to price a cart?. Specially when 90% of what they put out are platic cups, mugs, vases, plates, forks and the same unwanted item the other stores just don't want, all cups are the same price, all plastics are the same price, yet takes hrs to process a cart. Today a customer asked manager to "volunteer and help the process to move faster". I commented regarding the situation, saying "that would not be good for employees if someone just came and actually got simple things done in an efficient matter, as that would put pressure on them to produce more". Moments later, Mr Edwin the new Manager came out, pulled me to the side and strongly but politely said that I was not allow to make negative comments in the store about the store, I politely disagree and told him it was "My God give right as a human of the free world to express my opinion verbally any time and any place I choose to, as per the US constitution" he disagreed, at which point I decided to back down and not cause a sceen, I will continue to shop for the reminder of my paid GW membership and not ever come back to a store or support a company that intimidates people not to express their views or concerns, as I told him, I will no longer talk about it with 1 customer, or others at the store, I will go online and write my concerns there, he responded with, "yeah, you do that". So here I am, posting my concerns and views, because I been told not to talk negative about what I see, I been negated my freedom of speech. That has put the cherry on top of the GW cake. I will hold my wording while at the store, but will never forget this day in my life, in a free country, the U.S. of A. Ps, there have been some amazing employees at this store that have always shined, Mr. Derick who is always working, cleaning, pricing and caring about GW. And Mrs Brenda, such a nice woman, always smiling, being nice to people and legitimately concerned about helping people. There are others, but those 2 should be the model for the type of employee any company should wish they were lucky to have. Ok, that's that back to shopping, it's 50% day off and I'm hoping to take home more than a belt, a hat and knife sharperner for my kitchen, I been here 3 hrs and these are my treasures.
