I’ve Banked at BMO for nearly three decades migrating from the Chicago Suburbs where BMO is a household name. Literally. My branches up North were next to none, amazing customer service and always treated top notch. From mortgage services, personal banking and business it’s been a flawless relationship. To me it was a life time relationship, which I couldn’t imagine my BMO bankers not being a part of. I’ve received the same service at the Naples branch which I’ve driven too from time to time to avoid the Bonita Branch which is within one mile of my house. For the last 6 years each time I have to go into the Bonita Branch there is thickness, tension and more times than not being treated cold and rude. The tellers are the exception as they are cordial and helpful, which is why I hung on as long as I did. More times than not, even with no one waiting in the branch there is always a wait. One of the Bankers in the branch seem to still be in perpetual Covid lockdown, which was ironically was the one that took over two days to open our business account. But every Banker encounter I’ve worked with at this Branch treat the customers as an afterthought and inconvenience. I came in recently to open a business account, which I had an appointment in advance and the process took over two days and still wasn’t done. We went in to open the account and sent home with an appointment, which we came back for. I was sent home on the appointment day because the banker was leaving for the day and was told she would call tomorrow. Why make the appointment if she didn’t have time to actually open the account properly? I was never able to access the account online, there was a problem with the starter checks not being delivered which I paid for. The Banker didn’t follow up with us to make sure it was all set even after I called and emailed. I went in the branch and talked to another banker, which was months later since I work and have very little time and I let her know I didn’t get the checks. I was treated like I was making it up, even after the banker could see that I hadn’t written the first check on the account. Being a longterm BMO customer I’ve made the decision to close my accounts and move to Fifth Third Bank across the street. I closed the first account this week at the teller window and the same Banker, next to the tellers signed the check to close my account. She never even bothered to get up out of her chair to engage me. I’m not sure why I expected anything less. It was then I know I had made the right decision to move. It saddens me that I have been pushed out of the Bank that had been a fundamental part of the milestones in my life. I did hang on for 6 years in hopes it would shift and now looking at the reviews I can see I’m not alone. For those migrating from up North to this BMO branch…I would recommend looking elsewhere. After talking to several friends in our neighborhood, Fifth Third Bank was referred to us. Fifth Third is right across the street and from the onset has treated us with simple kindness. Randomly, I did receive a call from the new Branch Manager at BMO Bonita within the last two weeks
which gives me hope for change. Unfortunately, it’s a little too late for me and my family. My one piece of advice for your branch is train your staff to be efficient. Kindness, Customer Service & efficiency is absolute, without that you can expect the continuous mass exodus of your banking customers. Kindness and grace costs you nothing, but without it, it will cost you everything.

We recently opened up accounts at the Branch in Bonita Springs. They were fantastic! They spent a great deal of time setting up the accounts and answering our questions. I specifically would like to thank Bruna and Karen for their help! I would highly recommend this branch!

Great experience for an awful event, my cc had 78 transactions of fraud in a 2 week period, the personal banker ( not sure her name) office on the left side of tellers helped me. I’m very appreciative of her help and patience as it took awhile to do each claim.

Consistently have mixed experiences here. Some days best service, other days slowest service ever. My least favorite is the other day when the bank MANAGER says you can't take your own cash out bc she doesn't have enough. Doesn't even offer a solution. I wanted 4,000 and she said I could only take $2000. I had to offer for her to keep all of it, and she could write me a bank check and I'd cash it somewhere else.Other days I get to deal with Bruna and she is always helpful, efficient and on point. Just depends on who you get when you walk up I guess.

Who ever works the last shift 11/14 was absolute the worst customer service. Bank of the west never treated me that way. Gives me even more of a reason not to keep my money with you guys lol

Time to revise the opinion about this branch. Most of reviews are from several months ago and are likley about employees who are no longer there. BMO has changed a lot of things in their business model over this year.I am a transitioned customer from another acquired bank and was welcomed into this bank in a very friendly manner. I came inside twice and once to the outside window of the Bonita Springs branch on Bonita Beach Road. The cashiers were mature, professionally dressed & behaving adults, which is no longer to be taken for granted. They treated me with warmth and respect both times. The banker, Bruna, is also friendly yet professional, very patient, and on the top of things.I have received help from Bruna twice now (once over the phone when the transitioned BMO call center was not helpful) and she has given me several pieces of very good advice both times. Bruna is a very knowledgeable banker and looks out for your - customer's - best interests. Also, she can advice one on which accounts have fees and which do not and right now (fall 2023) At this time BMO offers competitive terms compared to the other banks. In other words, disregard bad reviews from 7-12+ months ago, visit a Bonita Springs branch, and seek help from Bruna, if you are not having a positive customer experience.

My experience at BMO bank was absolutely horrendous, deserving no more than a single star. The customer service I received was nothing short of disgusting. During my visit, I felt like a mere inconvenience to the staff, who made me feel insignificant and worthless. To make matters worse, the banker shouted out my account balance for the entire bank to hear, a humiliating and completely unnecessary act. Their insinuations about my low account balance only added insult to injury. While I may not use BMO as my primary bank, I certainly won't use it at all in the future. Their lackluster performance and disgusting treatment of customers on vacation from Chicago to Marco Island have ensured that my banking investments will be directed elsewhere. Disgusting, indeed!

Horrible bank.. we’re charged $25 for a checking account unknowingly. We try to solve the issue at the bank , unfortunately the branch manager is in vaccinations and no body is assigned to take over her duties while she is away. That just shows how lame is this branch. When we spoke to the headquarters, we were told the the charges were illegal and went ahead and refund us for $50. There is still $220 remaining and we have to wait till the manager is back. Won’t recommend this branch to anyone?????????

Horrible customer service! Came in to open a CD. No one in the bank but employees. No one greets me. A teller asks what I need. I explain, she asks me to sit down. 2 personal bankers never great me or let me know that they will be right with me. I decided to take my money elsewhere as I do not suspect this branch to be open fir the term of the CD

Thanks to Yulian and Salomon BMO Harris has always been my main bank for my personal transactions.
It has no hidden fees and everything is always free.
My only recommendation is that they should create an easy way in online banking to transfer funds to third parties who also have a BMO Harris account instantly to avoid annoying and repetitive Zelle holds or high wire transfer fees. Zelle at this bank is very annoying because they always hold payments and you have to call customer service and wait 48 hours for the payment to be processed and sometimes it takes longer due to weekends or non-working days (this does not happen with other banks) and finally, they should have more Spanish-speaking people in customer service because interpreters are sometimes unprepared and confuse or delay banking operations by not translating the correct information.
