I had a great experience with Interstate. They were very informative on everything that was happening and kept me in the loop. I moved across the country and the price was reasonable for where I was going. My customer service rep was Natasha and she was very responsive and communicative. They hired a third party moving truck company, Happy Wheels, which also did an excellent job.Wish my stuff arrived a little bit sooner, but to be expected with a long big move. Would use them again!

Do not use this moving company. They contract with various subs across the country and the movers broke so much I’m in tears. I just moved my possessions out of storage where these movers unloaded so I have not been able to inspect the damage until now. My $2000. Lazyboy reclining sofa is broken, this thing is made of strong steel yet they managed to destroy the mechanism that closes the seat. They smashed my solid wood trunk, broke 50% of my dishes and crushed boxes and nicked the tops of bureaus. Don’t trust them, they are nasty on the phone, they quote times of delivery and don’t show up. They ignore anything labeled fragile. In order to make a damage claim, you must have receipts for everything. Some of my belongings are family heirlooms or antiques or I’ve just had hem for years, so no receipts, no reimbursement for destroying my possessions. Don’t even think of doing business with them!!!

1. Cost Estimate was NOT anywhere close to accurate.Photos were provided; dimensions of a storage unit and information regarding (2) 1-bedroom apartments.2. Sales Agent mentioned making “the storage a little smaller” once photos were provided so there “won’t be any surprises.3. Based on the “Move Preparation” Email, Quality Assurance will call 4-7 days prior to move to get confirmation of items. I did not receive a call in that time frame. I called the company multiple times and could not be connected to this department.Quality Assurance called once 3 days before my move and left no voicemail and made no further attempts to connect.4. Movers are not affiliated with Interstate and said with the dimensions of the storage unit and photos, there’s no way our estimate should have been around 500 cubic feet. They said industry standard would have been 400-500 per pickup location. Interstate claims to the the “professionals”; this cause my estimate to more than double.5. (4) different people called to confirm delivery of our items on 12/18.6. I spoke to an associate on 12/18 and then she called me back again on 12/19 to confirm my items were delivered. She had no recollection of having spoken to me about my grievances the day before.This company is disorganized, highly unprofessional and inaccurate.

I contacted Interstate moving in October of 2023 for information on moving my father from Tennessee to Florida. The company was amazing from the start! They answered all my questions on the process, quoted me a very reasonable price, and constantly checked in with me along the way. The movers arrived on time to pick-up all of the household items. They were incredibly meticulous on wrapping and making sure everything was packed accordingly. What impressed me most with the company on how they supported me with the issues I had with the closing on my fathers house in Florida. I had to change the drop of date for the furniture two different times which caused the delay an entire month! Interstate reassured me that my items could be stored and they would work out all the details from transporting the items to a different truck to making sure the delivery will take place. Everything arrived and the new movers were very efficient in getting everything in the house, to setting up the beds, tables, and other furniture that needed to be reassembled. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing to move a long distance. Thank you!

Our family just completed a cross country move with Interstate and based on our experience would strongly suggest anyone considering their services look elsewhere. My original estimate was for around 19K and at the end of the nightmare I believe it will be around 30K. Their staff were of little support throughout this process and the wait times on hold are infuriating. I was warned not to use this company because they are a broker who simply brings in a third party as a mover but was assured by my Salesperson that he would be my point person throughout the move, and he would take care of issues for us. He was very convincing but was of zero assistance once the move started. He would either not respond at all or transfer me to customer service who would then either place us on hold or fail to resolve our issues timely. The customer service reps were insensitive and aggressive. At one point a rep joined one of the calls unannounced and became verbally aggressive with my wife and myself. After I requested that Interstate's head of compliance review the recorded calls, I received an apology for the employee that interrupted the call unannounced and for the assurances that should not have been made by my salesperson. When we reported to the moving company that we had damaged items we were later told to discuss that with the 3rd party movers. When I asked Interstate for a final invoice they once again said to talk to the moving company. The members of our moving crew were friendly, courteous and hard working. We fed them every day and enjoyed getting to know them. They do not work for interstate and I could have called their company directly and saved myself most of this hassle of working with a broker. Moving is stressful. Here's a tip based on our experience to make it a lot less stressful: Do not use a broker and definitely do not use Interstate.

We used this company for our move in and paid for full service packing. They did not wrap expensive glass items (bar cart, dining room hutch) which were broken during the move. There were also several pieces of furniture that were damaged on arrival (bed frames, armoire legs, storage containers). Furniture that was disassembled was missing screws, nuts, dowels because they were not securely taped / enclosed to the associated items. This means we were unable to reassemble furniture on arrival. Lastly, with full service packing, we expected boxes to be properly labeled, at least by location in the house. A majority of the boxes were either not labeled or mislabeled, requiring us to re-move several boxes on our own after delivery. When paying over $13k for a move, we certainly expected more attention to detail and care for our personal belongings. We will not be using this service again.

Terrible experience. We had what interstate deemed a very easy move of a two bedroom apartment. Massive massive Bait and switch. Sales pressure up front promising a great discount and excellent service. So far from what actually happened. Then price went up significantly when Quality Assurance rep called to confirm move when his calculations didn’t match the original salesperson’s. Then Hollywood Movers, who they assigned, tried to not honor the two dates selected and Interstate was useless trying to resolve. When they finally agreed to the earlier date of the two date window we were originally forced to pick, they were clowns, with the foreman being taking an hour and a half upon arrival to take an inventory for 10 minutes and then disappear for 50 minutes and returning to explain the new estimate when absolutely nothing had changed. We were told by interstate we would pay a third at signing, which then went up after QA contact and to pay a specific amount at pick up, but Hollywood claimed to know nothing about that, had no details from Interstate (we had to fill out many forms for Hollywood with information we’d been over with 100 times with interstate and the Foreman saying he didn’t have and only had the total deposit information) and jacked up the price more and demanded 65% of the the new price on pickup. Total and extremely expensive racket.

These guys did an excellent job. We had a 4-man crew to move in and out of a townhouse with lots of stairs and narrow turns. They were efficient, thorough, and took excellent care of our belongings. They asked lots of questions, were friendly and willing to pack some of the unpacked items in the midst of everything. There was no question about fees-no surprises, everything clear and straightforward. They can move pianos - a plus! We highly recommend this company. Moving is stressful enough and we really appreciated how professional everything was handled. Thank you Interstate team for such a good job.

Interstate was amazing! This is the team for you. They helped us feel so relaxed and confident in our move. From start to end, they were courteous and professional. On a busy weekend Interstate was able to squeeze us in and moved our large 1 bedroom apartment across the bay in 4 hours. While we had everything to go in boxes, no question they wrapped all of our furniture and TV for safe moving. Their pricing was also great! This is an on-time, careful, and professional group.If I needed to move again I will definitely hire them.

They nicely packaged our mattress and wrapped all our furniture in cloth to prevent damage, all while still managing to haul everything up 2 flights of stairs. It took the movers approximately two hours to pack up the truck, which would've probably taken us 5 days. When we got to the new unit, they parked and immediately began unloading the truck, which took just over an hour (again, going up 2 flights of stairs. We're big on stairs, apparently). They very neatly lined up all our boxes and even sorted the living room vs. bedroom packages and furniture for us. We are very happy with the professional and quality moving services provided by Interstate moving and relocation group and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable movers in San Francisco!

Interstate movers packed up and moved our fully loaded condo to a storage unit with the greatest skill and professional manner I have ever experienced with a moving company. They worked tirelessly and meticulously taking great care with everything small to large.The owner was so easy to work with and communications were outstanding.The team was courteous and considerate to our moving-out anxiety. I give them my highest recommendation. Did I mention that their rates are incredibly reasonable. Thank you all at Interstate!

I wish I could give them a zero rating because our experience is terrible and appalling.1. During my months long engagement, Mark Powers from Interstate never said once that the job is subcontracted to the Atlantic Group USA Long Distance and Out of State Movers until Atlantic showed up and my nightmare started. Atlantic movers left many things unwrapped and damaged multiple pieces of furniture including but not limited to a bed, a bookshelf, two dressers, a large TV console, an almost brand-new refrigerator. They lost a treadmill and a dresser. They threw expensive suites, dresses and coats into boxes without hanging them up like I would expect from a professional mover. Brand name shoes are tossed on top of each other like trash without any protection. The framed and glass of several arts were also broken.2. Interstate didn't conduct an in-person evaluation to verify the amount of stuff to pack and move, even though I offered. My moving cost jumped from $14,000 to $27,000 between the initial and the final evaluation. After already paying over $5500 downpayment, we had no choice but to agree on the new price. Movers from the Atlantic Group USA Long Distance and Out of State took two plus days to pack the house and held our stuff hostage and mandated us to pay 70% of the remainder cost against the 50% Interstate communicated with us all the time. Interstate didn't get back to me until the next day after we already made the cash payment.3. Atlantic Group movers delivered our stuff a week later than scheduled without the right equipment to offload heavy items. The ramp on the truck was broken. To speed up delivery, they loaded the items onto my driveway. Then they demanded more money to move my stuff from the driveway into the garage when it started to rain, holding my items for ransom.4. We have spent more than two months working with Interstate and the Atlantic Group via calls and emails. We have submitted multiple damage reports but have not received any apology from Atlantic Group nor any compensation.I gave Interstate a 1 star because this company might be a decent one but the Atlantic Group they hired to handle my move sucks!

This is my second residential move in 5 years with Interstate moving and relocation. My first experience was very good, and so I hired them again for my recent move. My experience this time was phenomenal.On my moving day,these guys are the real deal. Equal parts strong, careful, kind and very hardworking, Hugo, Memo and Juan remained professional, friendly and attentive throughout my 13+ hour move, which included loading the contents of my storage space onto the truck first, and then moving my belongings down a steep flight of 36 stairs. They carefully shrink wrapped all cabinets and took great care. The move also included some challenges, including moving some very heavy and large cabinets, and getting a sideboard up a very compact spiral staircase. Their determination to "find a way" and persevere was impressive. They also disassembled and reassembled a light fixture to enable placing a tall cabinet just beyond.Highly Recommended!!!

Interstate movers are fantastic!I recently needed to move because my building was sold and the interstate team was so wonderful to work with. I had quite a bit of furniture and was moving to a new apartment on the third floor of a building.The movers were very personable and even cracked jokes while they worked. They took extra caution to wrap my electronics and valuables and protected the furniture with tons of attention to detail.I would certainly recommend them to making a move! I don't plan to move again for a while but whenever I do, I know who to call.

We moved from the city to the east bay at the end of July and had an excellent experience. Our movers were extremely nice, efficient, and hardworking. We are incredibly grateful for their expertise and help in our move. Total move time (not including their drive back to the city) took 4 hours, which was incredible considering the 30-40min drive out to the East Bay. They are also very well priced.We will definitely be using Interstate moving and relocation group for future moves.Thank you so much!
