So, I wrote the review below and fully expected to get the, "Gee, we're sorry for your experience, blah blah blah." As a very successful, senior retail executive having taken a long established retail company with only $20 million in annual revenue, to one doing $280 million, in six years before retiring (last I saw they had exceeded $3 billion in annual revenue based on what I and four other executives had created) I am well qualified to tell you, Fifth Third Bank, if you spent more time establishing a positive corporate culture with a strong mission statement, you wouldn't be spending so much time writing worthless, "We're sorry and care about your business," replies. All of your branches in this area have terrible reviews and that is because you have a lousy corporate culture, and that stems from those above the branch level.

I would give 0 stars if I could !!!
I want to share my highly frustrating and disappointing experience with Fifth Third Bank, particularly at the Bayonet Point location. I opened an account online that required a $100 deposit to activate. The funds were immediately taken from my main account, and I was prompted to set up online banking, which suggested I could access my money through my mobile wallet until my physical card arrived. However, this turned out to be false. The app gave me an error every time I tried to follow its instructions to add the card to my wallet.
I called customer service, explaining the issue, but instead of resolving it, they insisted I must have done something wrong. They didn’t even acknowledge that the app’s own prompts were causing the problem. After days of back-and-forth, I got an email saying my card had been shipped and I could track it via the app. But when I tried to log in, I was completely locked out, even though I had Face ID set up. The app prompted me to contact customer service, who then transferred me to the fraud department. The fraud department, in turn, told me they couldn’t do anything and that I’d need to visit a branch to sort it out.
When I explained that I work during branch hours and my job location is over an hour away from the nearest one, I was told to go on a Saturday since they could resolve it then. So, I made time that Saturday only to be told by a teller (because there were no bankers present) that the fraud department isn’t available on weekends—something the fraud department itself had failed to mention. This was extremely frustrating, but because I work in healthcare and have long hours, finding time to return during weekdays was almost impossible.
Then, I received a letter saying that if my account wasn’t released from hold within 30 days, it would be closed, and the funds would be returned to my original account. Unfortunately, that deadline passed, and when I called to ask about the refund, I was told they wouldn’t send it back and that I needed to go into the branch with proof of identity to get my money.
Due to the upcoming Hurricane Milton, my job was closed as it is in evacuation zone A and recently flooded during Hurricane Helene, so I finally had time to go into the branch to deal with this. When I arrived, I spoke to a banker, Mr. Clark (or whatever his name was—he didn’t even introduce himself), who was dismissive from the start. Before I could even explain the situation, he told me I couldn’t access the money because I “didn’t have an account.” After I explained the hurdles I’d been through, he accused me of lying several times—once about my mailing address being different from my ID, another time about what customer service had told me about my funds, and lastly, when I explained why I couldn’t visit the branch before my account was closed. He even had the nerve to question my travel time, saying, “Port Richey isn’t an hour away from here,” when I clearly work in Crystal River, not Port Richey! Had he been a bit more personable he may have found out this information from me before becoming accusatory.
To top it off, he then said that since I “didn’t do what I was supposed to do” after all the runaround their company had put me through, I’d just have to wait to see if or when a cashier’s check with my money gets mailed out to me.
This entire experience has been an absolute nightmare. Between the constant misinformation, unprofessional staff, and lack of support, I feel Fifth Third Bank has been completely dishonest, disrespectful, and even predatory. I wouldn’t recommend this bank to anyone.

I cannot put O rating. Went to open an account. Get alot of promo mail.. Was ignored and basically was not given any service. I wasn't even acknowledged after sitting there over half an hour. Then was told they were closing soon . Run from this rude branch. The marketing dollars are wasted.

I just sold my home and I opened an account here for one reason . This is the bank the check was written from, different branch but still, same bank.First they couldn’t deposit it. A check from their own bank. Lol. I make a call they make a call and it gets deposited . So I ask how much I can get , knowing my old bank Wells Fargo, will immediately clear, I think , up to $100 as long as it is not a personal check.“Oh we don’t do that”, ugh , I think was my reply. “ I just deposited yada yada yada amount from YOUR OWN BANK, and I can’t even get gas money , absurd. “No worries”, I say . “I’ll just use an atm tomorrow. It will at least clear tomorrow “ and yes.I then ask for a temp debit card. “Temp? Oh we don’t do that “ she says to which I say, EITHER!Ugh ? With a questioned look on her face .I deposited $HOUSE figure check and not only can’t I get gas but now you don’t do temp cards. I’ll be moving my money as soon as I decide on a real bank .IF THIS PLACE CAN NOT HAVE THE MOST BASIC OF CUSTOMER SERVICE ACTIONS IN PLACE, I can only imagine all the other things they have problems with.

A top notch bank. We have dealt with around 8 banks in our lifetime and everything is perfection here. The parking lot, the landscaping, the building, the lobby and especially the folks that work here. Super nice and very knowledgeable.

I've been with 5/3 since 2009. Love this bank. I hear horror stories from other banks. I'm so happy I'm with 5/3. No horror stories here.

The banker named Robert was so full of himself. I went in there to unblock my debit card and he kept talking about how good of a banker he was because he won a contest with a free vacation. He said everyone looks up to him in the company. At first I thought he was the manager but when I asked him he said "I could if I wanted to be a manager". Never met anyone so arrogant as Robert. Also what man sits on his leg while sitting down in a chair. My 5 yr old sits like that.

Bank teller by the name of Barbara C. was absolutely stellar. She handled my account issues with ease, professionalism, and courtesy. Makes me happy to be a Fifth Third customer. Thanks Barbara!

The clerk there is extremely rude, her name is Julie Dear! Horrible customer service, my Dad has been with this bank for 70 years. It's funny when I had something to say to her, she wouldn't even look at me. But she thinks it's ok to be extremely rude to elderly people!

I've been with quite a few banks over the years and this bank is BY FAR the best. Their customer service is above and beyond. I know, I know-it's hard to believe after all the experiences with the other banks but it's been true for me. At this branch in particular Robert is phenomenal! After a few years of 5 star satisfaction with 5th 3rd I took my husband to open up an account. Robert gave us a business card that has a number that goes directly to him. If he is busy he always, and I mean always, calls back. But it's not just the one customer service rep that makes this bank great. I used to be a professional Petitioner and I traveled state to state for various initiatives to make it to ballot. They have solved problems for me on numerous occasions with paychecks. And they have branches almost everywhere. This is my experience with 5th 3rd.

If you are looking for a first time bank, or a bank to bank with in general I suggest you litterally go to any bank BUT this one. I've never in my life had issues with a bank the way I am this one. Its always my luck I swear! This is your sign to turn away & go somewhere else. By far the worst bank I have everrrr had.
