Good variety of books. The employee was friendly and knowledgeable about the questions that we made. It would be nice to have one or two couches in the store for customers to comfortably browsing books.

What a gem of a place. Needed to sell some books and was totally surprised by this incredible Book Store. It is a tourist attraction and also a place where students come to look and read some of these antiquities. Wish that bookstores weren't obsolete you can't reolace a book with tablet

$40 for a journal which has nothing special to it not even a hardback book, should've known by the area it would be expensive, no bibles in the religious section

Walked in and was not greeted by either of the two workers, even after I said hello. I was disappointed in their curation, too; there were only staff cards for one shelf for books that are pretty well known (“Beach Read” by Emily Henry), and the other shelves were not super organized. Instead of a fantasy section and a romance section, for instance, the books were just listed under “fiction.”Basically, if it’s out of your way, don’t bother :/

Amazing Bookstore, horrid location. Run in, find great reads, but run out before the other shoppers kill you with their "what are the poor's doing in our mall" stares.

There are a number of Books and Books branches throughout Southeastern Florida. All independently owned and staffed by people who are passionate about books. I’ve visited a couple with nary an intention to buy. However, I always end up buying a good book or two here. Usually something of local interest. This is a nice small branch located in the Bal Harbor Shops. The staff was very knowledgeable about their collection as well as what’s different about their other locations…they made a couple of recommendations. Parking is free in the shopping area. I loved the architecture and the layout of the Shops — it’s all open air with plenty of greenery. The Shops are mostly high end so I’m unlikely to shop here, but some of the eating places were packed: I’ll be back to Books and Books and throw in a drink and a meal at one of the bars/restaurants at the Shops.

The Miami Jungleland Book. A true piece of work. The best translation of Miami’s Art and Cultural Scenery. A must have treasure. This book makes you travel to Miami from any part of the world. I highly recommend it.

Books and Books has a long history with Miami. The flagship store is located in a beautiful 1927 building listed in the Coral Gables Register of Historic Places. Mitchell Kaplan founded Books & Books in 1982 in a 500 sq ft space in Coral Gables when he realized that he loved books more than going to law school. Somehow this independent book seller has managed to stay in business in a time when most books are bought online. One of the ways they have stayed relevant is by hosting over 60 author events every month.Books & Books sponsors one of my favorite events every November, the Miami Book Fair, when 300 hundred authors converge on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College for a week of one of a kind literary events. The fair was started in 1984 by Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus President, Eduardo J. Padrón and Mitchell Kaplan in partnership with the Miami library system. Many famous people, artists, athletes, politicians, and celebrities have come to Miami to speak about their books at the fair. It is now the largest literary festival in the country.I discovered this small Books & Books outpost while exploring Bal Harbour Shops. It might be one of the only stores I can afford in the entire mall. As soon as you walk in the heavenly smell of books engulfs you. I wish they sold it is a perfume. On the wall and tables are a good selection of the latest best sellers, popular fiction, children's book, and non fiction. They also sell reading glasses. In a time when most books stores have been shuttered, it is wonderful to see that Books & Books has managed to keep the literary loving community engaged.

I loved coming into this shop. Excellent selection and a very friendly worker who was skilled in the art of engaging you in conversation but allowing you your space to browse. I accidentally knocked a pricey book down off a high shelf and he was very kind about helping me.

I enjoyed this small bookstore. Its organized nicely through categories with a unusual variety of large trendy coffee table books. The decor is classic and well lit. However Being disabled I would have liked some short term seating and not have had to leave the store to find it while I waited for my companion.
