Wendy was very prompt in returning my phone calls and very helpful in pointing me in the right direction to get help with my insurance claim. She was very professional and courteous and a great spokesperson for this company. We hired this company for a full kitchen remodel and are extremely satisfied with the work! If you've never done a remodel (we hadn't) it won't go 100% smoothly but Straight Line was on top of any and all things, from scheduling the numerous subcontractors, to pivoting when I changed my mind on paint color or added something, to immediately fixing the few issues that arose. Bryan B. was our foreman and the depth and speed of his communication was amazing and his advice for first time renovators was invaluable. We hire Straight Line for any future projects.

We had struggled finding contractor who would be consistent and detailed, much less even act like they cared. Straight Line was total opposite. They helped us set expectations early and provided a timeline and detailed explanation as to the what and when. Elijah was our Project Manager…he couldn’t have been better. He went above and beyond. Our kitchen is done and it looks fantastic.

Was given a bait quote. SLC came in and asked detailed information on what we wanted. We couldn’t have been more clear and specific, after having consulted with numerous contractors. Floor pricing was HUMOROUS and over double the market labor cost. After picking out cosmetic selections, the expense of the job rose dramatically, and there was no direct or valid response on why. We asked for an itemization of what changed correlating to the substantial gross price influx, based on the initial quote DAYS prior, and was never provided an honest answer.The cost of everything has gone up. However, I don’t appreciate my time being bated by a low cost bid only to have the out-the-door expense exceed all others by a long shot.

We hired Straight line construction under license of Dan Eckhard Lic. No. CBC1259718 for an extensive remodel of our home. We paid them $70,000 to be begin work and $10,000 for plans. Work began the beginning of August 2021. Extensive Demolition was begun and as time progressed we became concerned about the time it was taking and the manner in which the work was being performed. In early Dec. 2021, with our house remaining incompletely demolished and never having received professional plans, we asked 3 other licensed contractors to look at the job and give us their opinions. All 3 pointed out that no permit or notice of commencement was obtained for the work and that the demolition was being done in an unsafe and below standard method. After weeks and multiple communications trying to resolve the problems, on Dec. 9, 2021 I fired Straight line in writing and in person and within days we received an attorney's letter giving notice of their intent to file a lien against our property. We had to hire a construction lawyer and he began the process of binding arbitration as specified in the contract. In 12/2022 the arbitrator found in our favor on all counts, including unsafe demolition and failure to obtain any and all required permits, and denied all of their counterclaims against us. We were awarded $65,000 ($80,000 we paid minus $15,000 for the actual demolition work done) and attorney fees of aprox. $48,000. It is important to note that the contract they originally gave us included a clause prohibiting any negative reviews in either a public or a private forum - in our opinion this may cause their online reputation to be incomplete, as those with negative experiences may be afraid to post any reviews. Also, the contract stated the client had to pay for all legal fees in the event of a dispute that incurred fees. Thankfully, we had this changed prior to signing the contract. This is a greatly abbreviated description of our experience with Straightline Construction, the legal process and description of their work; any errors due to this abbreviation are unintentional and would not in any case falsely represent our extremely bad experience with Straightline Construction.

Professional team. I didn’t know how to start my kitchen project. I was overwhelmed by too many decisions and choices. Amelia took the time to find out more about what I did or didn’t like and then put together solutions that worked and were exactly what I had tried to conceptualize. Ben and Dale took the time to look at my floor plan and find under utilized space to my make place more functional and updated. A great team!

Our experience with Straight Line Construction was very disappointing. They over-promised and under-delivered. The communication is great until you sign the contract or a problem occurs. The owners Ben and Dan are completely hands off once an issue occurs. Never once did they personally reach out and discuss our concerns. When we encountered recurring problems with one of their subcontractors, instead of stepping up and properly handling the matter, Straight Line's solution was to give us a partial refund and wash their hands of the failed job. We had to work with the subcontractor for many additional months to complete the work that was initially contracted by Straight Line. Based on our outcome, I suggest being your own general contractor and saving the time, money and aggravation that comes from dealing with Straight Line.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Straight Line Construction, and with Ben and Amelia in particular. They were willing to work around my schedule, and spent over an hour talking with me about the best options for my situation. They didn't once try to persuade me in any direction, they only provided their expertise to help me make the best decisions for my home.When it came time to make a purchase, they were quick, responsive, and very professional. Straightline Construction recently remodeled a bonus room for us and did top notch work. The design we wanted was very unusual but there was nothing they couldn’t handle. From Dan helping with the design, to Don our project manager alway being available for any questions to any of their knowledgeable and courteous subcontractors, our experience was the best yet. Dan and his team did amazing job remodeling our master bathroom. It was a large project which included moving a wall and plumbing to relocate a toilet. There were a few hiccups along the way, which is expected with a project of this size, but as promised Dan took care of them. Andy was our project foreman and he was our contact for any needs, which he handled promptly and thoroughly with a calming demeanor. Dan laid out every expense so there were no surprises and the finished bathroom is phenomenal. We couldn’t be happier with how it came out and would recommend Straightline Construction to anyone! Straight Line Construction helped us to repair our deck by removing floorboards, repairing the structure as needed, laying composite, and painting the remaining wood to match. Straight Line was responsive to our requests. The job took months, likely due to the pandemic, but the end result was well worth the wait. The deck looks like new and will last.
