“We sold our home in Tioga using Tom and Trish Reilly. We had them over twice to discuss selling our home, and actually decided to sell the second time, so we did get to experience the sit down discussion twice.Trish is warm, friendly, and empathetic, while Tom is more businesslike, efficient, and cut-and-dried. They have a streamlined process of initial meetings, paperwork, and the selling process, and they clearly have years of experience selling in Tioga, particularly. Their initial estimate of our home's expected sale price was based on the prior 6-12 months of local sales, and it turned out to be significantly inaccurate compared to our closing price. Our home sold significantly below the lowest comp they initially provided us. I'm not sure this was their fault, as the comps were genuine and appropriate, and rising interest rates and a changing market have altered real estate sales significantly over the last 2-3 years. There were also a couple details of our home (such as not having a downstairs office/sitting room) that turned out to be a sticking point with several buyers. ("We love your home, everything is immaculate, but we have to have a downstairs office" was the type of comment we received.) Still, I came away thinking they could have done better clarifying some of these details to us, given their many years of experience. We ended up pricing our home much too high initially, and it would have been helpful for them to be more frank up front about what to expect.The instructions about preparing our home for showing were spot on, and the showing process was fairly seamless. The video and photography was done fantastically, and our home looked great online. Tom and Trish were quick and responsive with all paperwork, and they did a great job guiding us through some nuances. Whenever we had questions our concerns, they did an AWESOME job responding and explaining, and we felt supported and represented throughout the whole process.At the end, the closing went smoothly, and Trish gave us a beautiful basket at closing, which was much appreciated by parents and our toddler son while driving to our new home.Overall, I think Tom and Trish are very familiar with the Gainesville/Newberry market, specifically the Town of Tioga, very responsive, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell in that area.”
