I've been a member for just about 2 decades. The western y is one of the unprofessional, impatient and racist branches I've ever been too. They front desk workers are incompetent liars. I'm glad to be finally walking away. I will share my experience to each minority I come across.

The manager and stuff here are rude and unprofessional. I went there to help my dad translate because he needed help placing his account on hold. And the receptionist confirmed that day that the hold was placed. The receptionist said that I needed further assistance and a manager would contact me. The manager contacted me and said everything was good and the account hold was placed. We recently wanted to get my dad access to the account to which the manager told me the hold was never placed and that they were not responsible about that since the form was never filled. I explain the manager that we were informed that the hold was placed and nobody informed us of any form that had to be filled out to which she responded there was nothing she could do because that was their “policy”. You would expect a manager to understand the situations is frustrating because we spend more than an hour talking to the front desk lady about placing a hold on the account, not the case here.

Western ymca has the worst customer service. I was charged for a membership fee when I thought I had canceled my membership due to the poor membership service I was dealing with in the actually place. Now I call and get hung up on not once but twice. Trying to explain and see if anyone can help but seemed to be talking to robots that really could careless about being charged for a service I’m not using and have no intentions of. Shame on you and your membership service. I actually worked in that department years ago and you guys really dropped the ball.

I've been a Y member for 18 years or so, The rates keep going up, but the quality keeps going down. Other gyms have come into the area never raising their rates, but after this year, when you were all closed for holidays, and reduced your hours, and even shut down on Sundays while other gyms were open, I'm taking my business else where. The YMCA used to be a community, but now it just seems like a cash grab.
