PART 1My friend goes to this braiding salon and at this point, it seems like this place is only open based off talent alone. The salon is overstimulating, there are two TVs that are usually played that blare gospel music or low budget African films at the same time, the stylists are constantly bickering back and forth with each other and flat out yell and argue with each other, they speak poorly about clients in their face and when they think the client isn’t listening, they overbook people, and they show up late. As per other reviews, someone could book with a specific braider and that person would either show up late or not come. Certain braiders are blatantly rude and nasty. Victoria is the main offender for this and she faces no repercussion for her lack of professionalism. If you ask certain ones to change something about your hair they’re very disrespectful about it. I know people who go to this salon regularly and they always get the same length/braid size and if one of their regular stylists are unavailable they get their hair braided by the next available person. If it’s someone that doesn’t usually do their hair they tell them exactly how they want it done and if you’re making their braids too big or too small they’ll tell the stylist but depending on who the stylist is, they get mad. For instance, my friend who has been going there for several years asked a stylist to use more of her natural hair in the front row to avoid possible damage and the braider told her, a grown adult, “no”. She ended up doing it but only because someone else told her to. Why are you saying no to a paying client when they’re politely asking for something basic to protect their hair…? Why are you trying to make five braids out of a tiny slither of hair…? That’s how you cause breakage. And when you do try to explain why you want something done differently they cut you off and try to talk over you depending on the stylist. Most are kind and will do what you’re asking with no issue but there’s are few rough ones in the bunch. On so many occasions I’ve seen braiders yelling at the customers and everyone in the shop would be staring. This happened last year but the stylist listed above was blow drying a CHILD’S hair and harshly telling the kid that she “can’t braid her hair if she can’t detangle it.” The kid looked to be around 12. She was yanking the kid’s hair rather hard and I’m not surprised she was in pain.PART 2The salon is also filthy in general and breaks so many health codes. They don’t disinfect items in between uses and they commonly drop things on the floor, pick it back up, and continue to use the same dirty item an a client’s hair. I watched someone doing corn rows drop the comb they were using, pick it up, wipe on their pants, and continue to use it. They use the same combs, dip buckets, and blowdryers on EVERYBODY and they don’t clean them in between uses…They could drop some braiding hair on the floor, pick it back up, and continue to use it. I’ve seen them put blow dryers on the floor amongst other things. Why would you use the same comb you used on someone with severe dermatitis on another person’s scalp? You shouldn’t be cleaning these things at the end of the day. You should properly disinfect them in between uses and THEN do a deep clean at the end of the day. The wash basins don’t get disinfected either.Last thing, going back to the shop being overstimulating. I get that their color is green but the walls need to be repainted to a neutral color. The green is off putting. They need to hire someone to redo the website too because even their website is overstimulating. Too much of that neon green, too much text on the screen, and the website doesn’t list a lot of crucial information such as pricing. You can schedule an appointment on the website but realistically, no one really checks it.This business could be great but the bad professionalism will be their downfall.

I had a great experience with my braider, Blessing. She did my hair super quickly but was still very neat and gentle. I made a same day appointment and she started my hair on time. I had small knotless, the price is okay because the hair is included and they’re so quick, I wish I had found this place sooner. I will definitely be back next month!

My daughter showed up for a service and the person wasn’t there, then when she showed up she didn’t know what she was doing over an hour later. My daughter had to change styles! Completely unprofessional

Always a GREAT EXPERIENCE when I visit the shop! I’m a seasonal client so, I come during the spring & summer months.Requested style: I always have a photo ideal style in mind before my appointment; Fatima always adds her twist to enhance the style. She’s a BEAST at her craft.Stylist: Fatima is AMAZING with cornrows and Nyla is Awesome for Knotless Braids. I enjoy sitting in the Christian / Clean environment.

They Never gave me what I asked for even when pics were shown. Then once I told them they just laughed. I’ve spent at least $2,000 and the Owner acts like she doesn’t know me. Some of the regular braiders are good but there needs to be an Attitude Change. I found another shop that Respects me and my Money!

The braids are OK but she didn’t braid it all the way down so some pieces are all the way braided down well some are still just straight and I paid 216 for a style that wasn’t done completely?

Awful and very unprofessional. My daughter had a 8:30 appointment. We arrived at 8:30 only to find no one to do our hair. They said someone was coming. I waited until 9:10 and asked again.. was told maybe around 9:30.. as if my time is not important.. there were empty chairs when we arrived and the let the chair sit empty waiting instead of taking my child and we had an appointment - I guess waiting for people they know or their friends. No apology or anything. And they seemed agitated at any questions. I know their business won’t shut down overnight but it’s only a matter of time if they continue to act as if their customers are not important. Will never go back again. There are too many other places to continue to accept total disregard of other peoples time..

I haven’t been in a while but I went on a Saturday morning and was told I needed an appointment which is fine! But I’m glad I didn’t have one according to the reviews below and they added more chairs so it was people on top of people in there! I found a new shop on route 13 called Nubian Braiding. The shop was clean and the ladies had great customer service.

been going here for 9 years, and they seem to never disappoint me. coming from NYC to delaware, this salon has been the closest to styles and service. Auntie Tess (owner) is such a beautiful ? person and hires the best styles. She is fair and goes over and beyond to please and satisfy her customers..

First time going here and I was able to book an appointment last minute which was very helpful and the braids were done perfectly. I will be returning.
