5/5/2024 OH! my gosh I just tried on the blouse that you ALTERED!!! You DID NOT helm the blouse like I asked you. AND, the seam down the sides of the blouse are not even. I have one big arm hole and one small arm hole!!! You need to find another profession. YOU CHARGED ME FOR SOMETHING YOU DID NOT DO!!!!!!! The blouse and skirt are useless. ENJOY the money because its the last you ever get from me. This is an update. Here is what happened- Left blouse and straight skirt to be altered. I tried both on for her to pin. When I picked up the shirt was longer in the back than the front. She tries to tell me some skirts and dresses are longer in the back and I pinned it in the front. Well, this was a straight skirt you cut and put a hem in it. And what difference does that make pin in front or back when its straight material.
The blouse was altered under the sleeve and crinkled down the
seam. She didn’t even steam it straight. And I tell her I’m not
paying $86.00 for this! Oh, the skirt did not have a lining so that
was not the problem. The problem is she can’t sew!
I’ve went to this shop for years and the original owner NEVER did
SHODDY work. I would take my name off this shop - he and his
wife were tailors and you certainly are NOT!! I will never be back
you got the last dollar from me and I will NEVER recommend YOU!
I’m sure this does not bother you but its not good business. I could do better myself using adhesive tape. Spend the $86.00 because its the last you will get from me!!!!! I wouldn’t even rate you a one star.

Recently I brought a comforter in there that was too big. I needed it to be made smaller. I know that's probably different than what they're used to. I am completely satisfied. She did a REALLY good job. I'm going to be bringing in a plaid shirt to have that altered as well.Thank you!!

I paid a visit to Ted's Tailor Shop & Cleaners on a Friday in late September when I had a cloth pouch with a hole in it, that needed to be sewn. It was definitely an unusual job and I had already spoken to two previous businesses that were unable to complete the work. When I came into the store I was greeted by the owner, Esther. I showed her the pouch which needed repair and I explained that I would need to have the repair work done before I took it to the beach on the following Tuesday. Since the shop is typically closed on Sunday and Monday, Esther graciously offered to expedite the work for me and have the repaired pouch ready for me the very next day.The very next day, which was a Saturday, Esther called me around noontime to let me know that the repair work had been completed and that I could come in and pick up the pouch any time before 2:00 PM. When I arrived, she had the pouch ready for pick up. The repair work that she performed was so good that I could not even tell that the pouch ever had a hole in it at all. After I picked up the pouch, Esther and I chatted a bit more and she answered another question I had, before I left the shop. I found her to be professional, courteous, friendly, skillful, and prompt in the way she completed the repair work for me. I’ll be headed to the beach with the repaired pouch soon.Since my work requires me to wear suits, I will not hesitate to return to Ted’s Tailor Shop again in the future for dry cleaning, as well as any additional repairs that I may need. I highly recommend Ted’s Tailor Shop.Service: Clothing alterations & repairs

I’ll start by saying, the owner is nice and polite. And that my rating is generous. I brought in a number of things; 5 slacks, a few dresses, and a zipper that amounted to over $200. My cotton dresses were hemmed just fine. When I brought my slacks home, they were much shorter than when I tried them on in the tailor, and a couple of them were uneven, one leg being noticeably shorter than the other. The most expensive pair ($150), needed to be taken in at the waist, but the back pockets were moved so close together along the back seam, that they practically touched. The pants looked very odd to me and the structure was completely changed. I was upset, because I was supposed to wear these to my rehearsal dinner. When I brought the pants back, I forgot the expensive pair at home, but showed the owner the others and explained what I was observing with the pockets on the other pair. I asked why the pockets were so close and couldn’t the pants have been taken in on the sides? She responded that that’s “usually how we do it, from the back”. The first things she said to me about the slacks was “that’s strange” and “they were fine when I took them off the hanger”. I proceeded to try on the 4 pairs I had with me. The owner was gentle, but also told me that “your legs are a little bit uneven” and “this material falls funny”. She agreed that they were uneven and shorter than when we’d tried them on after her initial comments/excuses. We agreed that she would try to fix them and refund me the price of the work if I was not happy. When I came back to get them, they were better, minus one pair that was still far too short. She asked me what I wanted to do and said she can do whatever I want- be it cut them into capris, refund, etc. I appreciated that she was leaving it open-ended, but I asked her policy because I felt that was the first step in determining what I was going to get out of this. She said “try to fix them first” and mentioned refunding the value of the pants. At the end of it, I told her that I would like a refund on them because I don’t think they would work as cropped pants. I ended up getting my $16 back for the hemming, but not the cost of the pants, which were an extra $25. The owner is soft spoken and I felt uncomfortable asking for more money back with other people in there. She left the conversation open to if I wanted to come back to have them hemmed into capris. Again, my 3 stars is generous, only because she was not outright rude and did attempt to fix her error and try to leave the decision up to me. But I would have preferred more accountability for the error and for her to offer things up to me without me having to explain what I wanted. I spoke to my wedding dress seamstress about the situation and she agreed that the initial excuses/comments about my legs was not the right approach. She also told me that the error with the pockets was a big one and that a seamstress should be fitting the clothes to your body, not blaming fabric, height, body, technique, etc. I am still upset about my expensive pants, and I wish I had been offered or asked for a complete refund for the value of them and the short ones, as I have now lost quite a bit of money. I would like to offer up some constructive criticism: I wouldn’t blame the bodies of your customers or the fabric of the clothing. I would try to take responsibility off the bat for the error made, and immediately offer a refund for the value of the clothing that was essentially ruined. Again, I am trying to give credit where credit is due and be fair, but I can’t say I would go back. I don’t trust the work and I feel as an owner/manager you should be offering all that you can to ensure optimal customer satisfaction, rather than sheepishly asking what I want to do.Services: Alterations
